Convenient, inexpensive comfortable

Stated a few Hotel indigos, and most of them are like this one repurposed from an older property/owner. Usually indigos are a lot more open, airy and have comfortable lobbies in public spaces. Space [More] is at an optimum in Manhattan, so I'm not surprised this was a little more closed off than I would've preferred. That being said, my room although small, was comfortable. The bathroom was very clean, with an open shower concept that I liked. The furniture was a little funky, and I had a slight problem with the lack of electric outlets. This can be solved easily by installing desk lamp that have electric outlets. All else was fine, staff was nice, and the location can't be beat. I probably will return. [Less]
Wonderful experience @ Indigo Chelsea

We are veterans of IHG/Priority Club. And have been loyal to HI Express for over a decade. IHG has picked up the Indigo brand and we finally got around to trying it out. We were pleasantly surprised [More] and very impressed. I was a South Beach local for several years and Indigo Chelsea had all the feels of a luxury Art Deco boutique hotel if you will. I feel the hotel to cater to the "socialized" while still giving others privacy. All the amenities were on par with what they boasted, including a rooftop lounge, lobby bar/restaurant with a variety of Mediterranean fare and more. The rooms although on the smaller side (which they should be being labeled "boutique"), maximized their use of space. They are even in the process of building an espresso bar in the immediate lobby. When we check in we had 2 small issues with our room, and although just about or at capacity, they moved us immediately and addressed our concerns. What was really the icing on the cake, was their A.M front desk manager "Arturo". He was pleasant, social, professional, knowledgeable and overall a great brand ambassador for his location. Thank you for a wonderful experience and we will 100% be returning shortly. For someone who is a hotel snob of sorts.. I would personally recommend this location to anyone. [Less]

A pleasant surprise

I had read mixed reviews before deciding to stay at this property but there were few options and it seemed to be "good enough" for the weekend we were in town. However I was very pleasantly surprised [More] at what I discovered after my family spent the weekend at this hotel. First I have to comment their general manager, William Piper, who went above and beyond before and during our stay to make sure things were right. I emailed him because we required adjoining rooms and he promptly responded and guaranteed that he would be able to accommodate us. Upon arrival he know who I was and had our rooms ready to go. Yes, the rooms are small (some feel almost European with the tight quarters). But they have recently remodeled the hotel and found ways to get the most out of limited space. We had 1 king room (very tight) and a room with 2 double beds (more spacious). The only challenge was finding a place to put our luggage in the king room but we managed just fine. The rooms themselves are fresh, clean and have all of the amenities. Breakfast (included) was beyond my expectations. Hot and cold options with plenty to enjoy. Our family also appreciated that the breakfast area is open throughout the day with hot/cold drinks available. [Less]

This is one such property under the leadership of their Managing Director. My wife and I were returning from Asia from a long trip where I had some health issues. Way before arrival, the MD had not only my preferred room ready but arranged for an asst manager waiting with a bellman way after normal hours to help store luggage and escort us to our upgraded room so I could get some rest before my journey back to Washington the next day. He also arranged for my son to have a room near ours so we could visit before leaving. This is our go to hotel not just because of its great location in Times Square, its gym, restaurant, and its generous welcome for elite members, but because of the superb customer service experience that rivals what guests think only exists offshore. This hotel rocks under the leadership of their Managing Director. [Less]
