I spent the weekend with my family to celebrate a birthday and we were all very pleased with the location and the hotel.the staff were very friendly and helpful especially in the bar and restaurant, they were really good with the children!
The concierge was most helpful before our arrival and whilst in the hotel.
We would certainly stay again.

Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by thehawk A great 3 night stay in a wonderful location in London.
1st the locations for touring london is outstanding. For using the tube you have access to all the sites in London.
The rooms were very spacious for 3, clean and very quiet. Staff was excellent and traveling with a 13 year old daughter accessibility to good internet wifi service was a must.
Also, plenty of dining options in the vicinity for those who want to dine in the neighborhood.

Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by GAMMO Not as good as in May "13
My daughter and I were in London from the 22nd to the 24th of June and after my two recent previous excellent stays here, I booked this hotel. As a platinum member, I was upgraded to a family room (number 308 I think or was it 408?) but it was a bit run down: the basin drained inordinately slowly, the lighting was of insufficient brightness and the view of the delightful back garden was largely obscured. Also the room wasn't really "family sized"; it was fortunate there were just two of us .I am grateful for the upgrade but...a suite as given to me on my two previous visits would have been more spacious.
Most Crowne Plazas throw in lounge facilities as a complimentary, but a half price offer at 30 pounds a night was made here...I thought it was far more than the price of two decent breakfasts and declined the offer.
The beds were very comfortable, the free wifi was a plus after paying for the same at the Holiday Inn in Cheltenham on the two previous nights, despite no initial provision of bedroom slippers these were provided promptly on request and the bath amenities were ample and of good quality.
Overall, it was a good stay but I have come to expect GREAT from this property and was a wee bit disapointed.

On entering the hotel it would be easy to believe the entire hotel was modern, stylish and comfortable. This would be a misconception. The rooms are tired, beds are uncomfortable and the bathrooms in very poor condition.
Without the benefit of such a great location this hotel would surely have closed years ago.
Next time I'm in the area I will be checking out the Holiday Inn just a few hundred yards away, I will expect similar and not be paying for the massive disappointment.

Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Keef Club lounge and room very disappointing after previous experience
The last 2 times staying here I was given an upgrade (as a Platinum Ambassador) to an exceptional split-level mezzanine suite and got comp Club Lounge access, even when staying on reward points on one of the occasions.
I had a Priority Club Rewards credit card reward night to use at any IHG property, and chose to use it at the CP Kensington based on the previous experiences there, though I could have chosen either of the 2 London 5-Star Intercontinentals (subsequently wished I had.)
They are not obliged to give any upgrade on points nights, and this time they didn't. Disappointing as it was clearly far from full, but fair enough. All I was offered was Club Lounge access for £30, which I took as it was superb on previous visits.
I was given a tired room on the second floor, all the wood (and there was a lot) was heavily marked and scuffed. Has I been paying the full rack rate I'd have been straight back down to reception.
I decided to live with that, but it was the Club Lounge that let them down. Previously it had a full hostess service with a large array of constantly changing hot and cold canapes and appetisers, and was one of the best in the country in my opinion. This time there was 1 cold canape (kept on top of the hot lamps above the serving cabinet would you believe) and 1 hot appetiser. When I eventually asked if there was to be anything else, the (very pleasant) hostess told me yes, but it would be replenishments of the same.
Frankly guys this is not good enough. You've gone from best to worst Club Lounge. I paid £30 for that and being penny-pinching with your poor offering isn't going to get me back in a hurry. I wished I'd spent my £30 in Waitrose across the road. I ended up going there anyway.

The location was good for our London stay. We never could cool the room off enough. The staff was not the friendliest that we have had in other hotels. When we came in and out each day, no one acknowledged us or even looked up half the time.

Overall nice hotel. Great location. Close to attractions such as Hyde Park. Just steps from the metro station. Lots of restaurants in the area. Good restaurant recommendations from the staff. The staff was always very helpful. There is a very relaxing garden behind the hotel. Lots of lounge areas. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our stay was very pleasant indeed, we were allowed to our room on arrival even though it was approx 10.30am. The room was very comfortable but with two double beds it was never going to have a lot of space, we were pleased it was at the back of the hotel for peace and quiet to sleep. We had a lovely view of the garden at the back. Bathroom was good with essential toiletries included. We made good use of the garden during our stay and appreciated it being there to relax in, you did not feel like you were in the middle of London sitting there. Staff were always really helpful and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect as it was such a short distance from Gloucester Road tube station and just down the road from the museums. I would definitely recommend it and would definitely go there again as our first choice to stay in London.

Being a regular at the old hotel, Holiday Inn, I was delighted to see the hotel following its upgrade. Certainly an improved bar area!
The breakfast was disappointing for a Crown Plaza.
Comfortable and well located with easy access to the Glouchester Road underground station, which is most useful.

We came to London with our 2 children for a birthday weekend treat. We needed a room to sleep all 4 of us that was close to the Natural History Museum. The room was great, with a beautiful garden view. The rooms overlooking the garden at the back are lovely and quiet so would recommend asking for one of those. One of the beds was a bit too soft, but I guess that's just personal taste.
Got a good deal including bed and breakfast for all of us. The children were well looked after and treated well by staff. Hot chocolate for breakfast was very much welcomed! Great for a quieter location but very easy access to central London via South Kensingon tube station. Natural History Museum is quite literally a few minutes down the road so we were able to beat the half term queues.
Would definitely recommend and would stay again when we next visit London.

Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by Grace42 Fantastic hotel and location.
My husband and I stayed in a twin club room with our 7 year old twins primarily to spend a couple of days at the science museum. We picked the hotel for its great location but I can say it exceeded our expectations; the staff were lovely and efficient, the room was very quiet with a view of the garden through opening french doors which were great to let in the fresh air. The garden itself is a wonderful hidden gem and the club lounge with its complimentary drinks, computer and chess set kept us and the children happy. We didn't get time for Monolopy but no doubt that'll be one to play next time !
The only one complaint was the Mild chilli on the children's menu was very very spicy and my daughter ( who likes a medium spiced chilli ) couldn't eat it. However she was quickly offered another choice from the menu which she thoroughly enjoyed.
All in all can't wait to come back. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Rated 1,0 out of 5,0 by Av91 Disrespectful and disorganised staff
As a group we were so excited to be staying at crowne plaza hotel in kondon Kensington but it did not happen. As the organiser for hotels I chose this hotel as it was very central and close to the places we wanted to visit. The rooms were standard but very noisy. Our party all found that from 7am we were woken up by other people staying in the hotel and noise from housekeeping walls must be very thin then the next day the rest of the party was Checking in and first of all the room was messed up not meeting our requirements and it also had damp and smelt very bad!!! Later on in the day another of our party was meant to Check in but rooms were not ready and it was after 2pm so later on when they check in they decided to tell us we had no rooms left!! The staff were very unhelpful and disorganised and talked with a lot of attitude!! We felt embarrassed and very upset as obviously we had paid for all the rooms and decided to tell us that t was our fault!! It put such a downer on the night as everything just ran late and couldn't enjoy our night as we were all so annoyed nd upset from what had happened!! Even though we had rang the hotel 4 times to confirm our booking before the visit!! They breached their own policy of giving out room keys and didnt even care.

Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by LindaSD Comfy and super convenient
My teenage daughter and I stayed at three different hotels during our visit to the UK (two in London), and this was our favorite. The room was much larger than our other London hotel room, with two double beds. It's also right across the street from the Gloucester tube station, which is on the line that goes out to Heathrow and also has a direct connection to some of our other destinations. I particularly liked it for the nights we went to the theater, it's a little scary for two women to be out and about in a big city at night, but the tube itself always seemed safe, and the Crowne Plaza is just across the street from the station. There are also a bunch of restaurants close by. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I stayed at this Hotel on two different occasions. I booked the Hotel through online and paid all the booking in advance month before i arrived. Was on leisure trip and little business trip as well. During my first day of arrival I had a bad experience at the hotel which I am not going into the details as I have written a 4 pages letter of dissatisfaction but upon my returned from Glasgow, I am very glad that the Hotel had made my stay most pleasurable and warmth. I would like to add here that the Hotel is the best place to stay in London as it is very convenient. It has fast foods, restaurants, supermarkets, post office and most of all the Gloucester tube station is just aroud the corner. The beds are clean and confortable and shower pressure is excellent and service is superb. I would also very much like to say that the staff, Mr GONZALA is the most pleasant and hospitable staffs the Hotel has. He is always there to help and assists whatever ways he can. Though the first day of arrival was not good but i still praised the service offered by Mr Gonzala. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for everything since i was not able to meet him after i returned from Glasgow.

Just like my last stay here, i was upgraded to a suite in recognition of my platinum status....thanks a million for the same! It facilitated my business meetings having a spacious lounge area and allowed me to have friends over with no shortage of space. Both the room and the sitting-room were spacious and excellently appointed. I found the staircase a wee bit inconvenient between the two levels but that was an insignificant issue given all the plusses of this excellent hotel. The staff too, were unfailingly helpful and polite and dealt with my one or two requests promptly and efficiently. A really good choice in London!

Except for being charged to use the Club Room with its annoyingly loud music with lack of value for what it cost, it is a nice clean, modern place to stay. It was a shock after staying at the Crown Plaza, Copenhagen, where I could have had dinner with what was offered free with drinks in their Club Room.

Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Snoopy60 We had two complaints
Complaint One. The hotel does not have parking so you can use the Holiday Inn across the road which does have onsite parking. No problem. However when we arrived we were told the car park was full and we would have to park in the road. When we complained and were about to drive off we were stopped by one of the concierge and told he would let us into the car park but he shouldn't really. When we got into the park it was less than half full. Was he hoping for a big tip?
Complaint Two. I am a Premier Gold Card holder and so we would always hope to be upgraded. I understand this is not always possible but I seem to get refused a lot at the Crowne Plaza hotels but do get the upgrades at Holiday inn's. On day two of our stay I asked if I could use the Club Lounge as I had some work to do. I was told you are not in a Club room so no, however if you pay £60 you can use the lounge. We complained bitterly and was told OK we can do it for £30. We complained again and the lady on reception said OK you can use it for free. In summary it looked like everybody was trying to make a few pounds on the side. In future I won't be staying at Crowne Plaza's, their loss as I travel extensively in the UK and Europe.

Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by conversioncamel Another pleasant stay
I love this hotel. I always stay here when in London if possible as the hotel is great, it is very central (Circle LIne) and across the road from Gloucester Tube station.
My upgraded room was awesome - the best room in London by far. The gym is also one of the better gyms in London and so once again an excellent stay.
However I do have a gripe this stay:
- the breakfast was a little disapointing, it seemed a little unappetising and as if it was just thrown together , the bacon was terrible (this is my personal taste of course) but I would rather go outside the hotel and have a lovely fresh breakfast for half the price.
I was unable to get a late checkut but I do understand this might happen if another Priority Club member is arriving so I understood why they couldn't help me out.
And finally, what I found unfortunate is I am a Platinum Ambassador member and I wasn't allowed into the members lounge like I was the previous time and I sincerely believe this should definitely be part of the Platinum Ambassador members benefits.

We have stayed here many times over the years. Comfortable hotel with good service.
Situated near tube station with links to central London. Also a bus service ditto.
Near to Major galleries and the Albert Hall.
The only let down was the breakfast which was not of the quality or quantity of choice for a 4 star hotel. Has been good in the past but not so now.

It was a very nice room and bathroom. Clean. Staff was pleasant at the front desk. I did leave an item (small pic of London) in the room. I tried to call and then left an email in the Customer Care section of Crowne Plaza asking them to mail it to me and I would pay for postage. Still no response. I would think since my name and home address was on the bill for that room - they would mail it to me.

I have stayed at The Crowne Plaza Kensington twice now and intend to book it again when I visit London in August and next year when my husband runs the marathon again! The staff are extremely helpful, it has been refurbished to an excellent standard and is perfectly located opposite the tube, easily accessible from Paddington on the circle line. If you want to walk rather than take the tube, it's a short walk (20 mins ish!) to both Kensington High Street and Science Museum. There are many good restaurants in the vicinity, not to mention the food in the hotel bar- children eat for free with a paying adult- perfect for my 2year old daughter. The rooms are spacious for London and tastefully decorated with extra touches such as the toiletries and aromatherapy spray. Rooms on the 6th floor are in the eaves, so not as spacious as rooms on the lower floors.
I highly recommend this hotel.
