Great staff, should be good place to stay after construction

The staff was excellent and the grounds were pretty nice. First night was in an old room with a lot of construction noise but they moved us to a newer room for the rest of the stay with no issues.

Breakfast is a little pricey but food was decent.

Will be a good hotel after construction is completed.

Beautiful property upgrades, poor for business needs

Having stayed at the property in October, I was extremely impressed when I arrived in April to see the entry and lobby completely remodeled. Hotel staff were highly welcoming and friendly, acknowledging my Rewards Club Status.

I was even more delighted when I stepped into my room, an executive level retreat with beautiful comforts and decor. The bathroom - wow! I thought, can I plop this into my home? After I got settled in, I immediately noticed a big problem with my room. There is no desk. NO DESK for business needs, which was the purpose of my trip. I love the wall-length sofa and bar height counter/entertainment center, but I was made a little uneasy by the lack of a desk.

I took my laptop and files down to the lobby, thinking I would try working at one of the tables in the beautifully renovated space. Luckily the bar served Starbucks and I was ready to be productive, free of conference calls for the time being. I was impeded by horribly slow internet speed/connection. Simple emails in Outlook were not sending and I was unable to load websites I use daily for work. Thankfully, the hotel patched me into a temporary fix with the internet service provider to resolve my largest issue for this stay, but I had to return to my room, thereby eliminating the work surface I was hoping to utilize.

Again, beautiful room, but difficulty being productive on business. When I dined in the lobby for breakfast, I was greeted with a tasty brunch bar, complete with plenty of healthy options. I was truly impressed!

The location is ideal for my stay and meetings in LA, many of which are on the West Side. It also provides relatively convenient access to LAX, downtown, and outlying areas. However, I need to be assured my business needs will be met when I stay here again. I would love to return.
