Welcomed with a friendly smile

You are welcomed with a smile and looked after all of the way. The hotel is a short walk to terminals 1 and 3 and a free bus ride to T2 (you can get the bus to T1 and T3 too if you prefer).

The only thing wrong with this hotel is that they keep their best deal a secret, park stay and fly is excellent, but finding out about it is a real challenge. Basically you pay to stay a night and get inclusive parking, for 8 or 15 days, and the more you use it the better the deal, from discounts to free breakfast etc. The problem is actually finding out about it and knowing what the deals are, there is no leaflet and no one can tell you the offer unless you ring and ask about it! Come on folk, this is a fantastic offer, you should be proud of it so let the world know about it!!

Good hotel which in on the train line from Wilmslow.

The staff are all really nice and welcoming.

I am hoping the promised gym upgrade happens sooner rather than later.

Poor experience at check-in

I had booked this hotel - again - as part of a package deal which included parking. Upon arrival I was curtly told that parking was not included, after waiting in front of the receptionist for 5 minutes whilst she finished complaining about another colleague to her co-worker. I queried this with her and was told that I must have made a mistake. I explained that after making the booking I had called central reservations to double check everything and was told that I would need to wait whilst she checked what I was telling her. Fifteen minutes later and I was still waiting. The receptionist said she could see that someone had accessed my booking a week after I had made the reservation (as I had told her) so she would give me a few days parking 'for free on this occasion'. I told her that I took exception to this as it wasn't that she was doing me a favour - I had paid for it! She then gave me an orange Club biscuit my way of an apology. I don't know whether bizarre, incompetent or rude sums it up.... perhaps just a mixture of the three. Anyway, I am looking to make an airport booking for August and will unfortunately be avoiding here.

Overnight after flight, before train journey

My only negative comment is that the shuttle bus service to the hotel was poor. I do not expect to be kept waiting at a bus stop. Bank Holiday it may have been, but that was no excuse. On arrival at the hotel, I was swiftly checked in to an accessible room (as requested). There was no soap, stand for my suitcase and no face cloths. I went straight back to reception, reported these problems and they were swiftly sorted out by the housekeeper, Petra, who was still on duty well after 7 pm. I thought this was excellent service. The receptionist gave me a voucher for a free drink (without my asking). As a half board guest, I enjoyed a superb two course meal in Sampans - with prawn crackers and a fantastic cappuccino. I was had been told that prawn crackers would be a chargeable extra, and was quite happy with that. Asking for a note of costs to be charged to the room, I was told that the items would not be charged for, because the staff had enjoyed serving me! The following morning at breakfast, the supervisor (whose name I have forgotten - she knows who she is!) was kindness itself. I have problems physically dealing with buffets. Everything was taken care of. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
