Superb management and customer service

This is my favorite place to stay when I visit NYC for Business or personal. The location is perfectly set in Times square with access to everything within walking distance. The Hotel's amenities are just right with a decent bar and a view of the city. The rooms are spacious and comfy. The fitness center is massive and convenient. But the main reason that I love this hotel is because of the treatment I get from the front office manager and customer oriented attitude. I want to specifically name Juliet (a front desk manager) for making me feel at home and as a special guest. THANK YOU JULIET!!!

Crowne Plaza, Times Square

I was traveling all day. All I wanted to do was check into my room and order-in using room service. I was surprised to learn that they no longer offer that service! Thats astonishing especially when you have a restaurant right there. I was told that all the NYC hotels decided to end the service. However, I was treated well by the staff especially George the manager, Sandra E and Vanessa F. At the Brasserie I was taken good care of by Clare L and Travis. I was using our points for this room and I was told that breakfast was included by the phone attendant but it apparently isn’t the case at this hotel. That was one reason why I booked there. I explained that situation to George and he was kind enough to give me a breakfast voucher. I was happy about that!

The room was not as clean, there were no robes and it was not of 4-5 star quality. The furniture is worn and the bathroom sink wood was quite worn. BUT the bed was very comfortable and that is one of the most important things, right? So it was really pretty good. Finally - the real kicker was that I was charged for the room - not good! I had to use my precious time to clear that up. It was a bummer to have to sit down and write everything down on an email, then make phone calls and be put on hold because it was now 5pm Friday and probably the busiest time at the Crowne Plaza. All is cleared up once I spoke to the right person—George! - He's my hero.

Excellent Hotel great location loved it, will be back! Great service, very helpful with all questions. Went above and beyond to help you! I would recommend Crowne Plaza Time Square to all my friends as an excellent place to stay while in New York! I want to personally thank you for an excellent experience! Job well done!

They did not honor both nights of my reservation

I had a confirmed reservation for 2 nights, with an additional confirmation of late check in since I was coming from the West coast. This was for business travel. All flights into JFK were delayed and I did not arrive until 2am. When I arrived, myself and another tourist were told that there were no rooms available for us. According to the night manager, there were several guests who decided to extend their stay and were allowed to do so at the expense of our rooms. We were given money for a cab and told to go to another hotel that was expecting us and they would comp the room cost. When we arrived at the second hotel, this hotel had no idea who we were. After a call back to the night manager at the Crowne Plaza, we were told to go to yet another hotel. At that point it was 2:30am and I had meetings starting at 8am. I did not want to walk to yet another hotel several blocks away so I took a room where we were at my own expense. This hotel only had availability for one night so I ended up dragging my luggage to my morning meeting.
The Crowne Plaza had a room for me only on the second night of my reservation. The hotel is noisy at all times, and the doors do not fit well in the doorways which allows light from the hall into the room all night. There is no room service, no mini bar, the baseboards and doorways are badly in need of paint and the carpet is worn out. Yes this is times square, but there are much better options with better service than the Crowne Plaza for your money.

When such incident takes place we are responsible for finding accommodation at another property with same standards or better and own all the all additional expenses that may be incurred. We have discussed your review with our managers, and we have been informed that the cab driver mistakenly went to a different property than indicated, reason why agents of this property were not aware of your arrival; it only came to our acknowledgment when agents contacted us to verify. While we were pleased to welcome you back the next day. We are saddened to learn you were disappointed with our amenities and comforts in your room. We are very sorry for not meeting your expectations. However we are pleased to share that most of the issues pointed our will be resolved once we finish with our renovation process that we are currently going through. Although our room service has been closed temporarily we are certain it will be back in the near future and we do apologize for the inconvenience it may have created during your stay.
