Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Vicbike Not for more than 1 guest who wake up at different times
They have smoked glass in the bathroom. Looks nice until you realize how much light is transmitted into the room. I get up early, shower and go get coffee while I wait for my family to wake up. However in this room I had to shower in the dark to prevent from waking them.
Additionally the Cabana pool side rooms have exterior doors so you feel like the property is 40 years old.
The last night the air condition went out and the desk clerk said "sorry" and then just proceeded through the check- out process.
The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by Dingo Need discount for your American Veterans that need service at VA Palo Alto
This is a great hotel will stay again just hope next time the management can setup a payment discount for Veterans and there families that need to stay in outside hotels as the VA has very limited rooms so overflow go's into City of Palo Alto and we come a long way sometimes to get the special service that only the Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto can provide. Maybe the Government discount can include Veterans and family that need to stay in Palo Alto. Other than that it is a great place and have stayed before and will return again. The staff worked with me and were really outstanding one person at front counter Robert not sure of his last name but really went out of his way to help. Thank you and see you again soon.
Location is only 5 mins from the Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto.

Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by John444 One of my favorites in Palo Alto but..
Adding a couple more new cardio elyptical machines in gym (there is room if you organize it better) is needed. It's crowded in the mornings and often I cannot get a machine to use..

Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by runningguy A conflicted business traveler....who loves this property.....
Your experience will be based on who is working at the front desk and what room you have been assigned.
A few bright spots....the property is very nice inside and out....the poor area being exceptional, with the outsourced Bar / Restaurant being an excellent addition. The Exec Sales team is stellar and if you are looking to hold a company function at this property, I have no doubt you'll be mostly pleased.
A few blights....the front desk staff is mostly cordial, but are we going to settle for cordial? It would ideal for the team to go above and beyond the norm, but this was not to be during this stay.
A few oh wow....while the decor and cleanliness of the rooms is spot on, the cement like bed and feather pillows that sorely need refreshing, are enough to limit sleep to 1-2 hours a night. Add in what feels / sounds like constant walking on the 2nd level and you're in for a long night.

The Crowne Plaza was great. We arrived and were upgraded to a suite. Very courteous welcome, fast checkin and the room was beautiful. Love the decor and the couch was really comfortable, most hotel couches aren't that wonderful. How could you not love a red corduroy couch? The room was so dark, we really got to sleep in and since the kids didn't come with us we didn't have to listen to cartoons at the crack of dawn. We will definitely recommend to our friends. Thank you for a great night away!!

Rated 1,0 out of 5,0 by rita123 Customer Service Skills
I was charged the deposit fees of $50.00 that the hotel forget to release and after calling them twice I was told that it was my Bank's fault. The 'accountant' also charged my card a dollar in an attempt to remove it and reversed the charges but it still did not resolve the issue. My bank make the effort to get on the phone with Crowne Plaza and after a Royal run around with the staff the customer service supervisor finally got on the phone and brushed me off stating they were refunding me 'and what more do I want'? Horrible customer customer, they did not bother to listen to their customer. They made the mistake not once but twice and were quick to blame my bank for an error on their part but would not speak to me or the bank about it. Rather rushed me off the phone saying 'she was too busy and needed to attend to other customers' I had not had an issue with them till now and the first issue I had it was handled absolutely horribly and unprofessionally. Customer skills are none and they do not listen to their customers. I wouldn't recommend for stay unless you have the patience to spend weeks/ days resolving the financial issues and are okay with horrible treatment from the staff.

Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 by Mantissa Cold Room and Lackluster Staff
Stayed five nights for work and I've never been so happy to leave a hotel. It was 30 degrees Fahrenheit outside and my room was icy cold. After fighting with the heater all night (and not sleeping) thinking it was just my room I called and was told the broiler for part of the hotel was broken and no ETA on a fix and was given an extra blanket. I find out the next day from co-workers staying at the hotel there were space heaters available (no one offered me one) - some people even had two or three in their room. So I called the second night and was told one would be brought up. I waited quite a few hours and called again, I got a very un-inspired "sorry we ran out" with a promise to have one the next day. When I got back to my room after a long day I thankfully had one. The bathroom was still frozen but at least the bed area was warm enough to sleep.
Other than that the front desk staff was generally lackluster (one exception was when I checked in). The rest of the hotel was mostly freezing (we were meeting in rooms there and many had to wear coats).
The only bright spots was housekeeping, who did a great job, and the staff at the dining area. Maybe they should be running the place.
