Parking Fiasco

While the room and ambiance were very nice, and I knew there would be a $20 parking charge appearing on the room receipt pushed under the door, I was unprepared for the EXIT from Parking. The poor woman at the booth wanted my room key to exit, which of course I carefully left in the room. And on asking my last name to call the desk she found my name missing. What to do? She finally let me out.
Now, what is the process here? It's heinous to require a room key to exit after checkout -- right? Do most travelers hang on to their keys? Does the hotel expect us to leave with keys?
What instructions could Management be giving to the poor woman at the booth? The car in front of me had a similar issue -- talking, waiting, telephoning, negotiating...

In summary, expect to add 10 minutes to your Exit Trip! Bon Voyage!

Dear Travel_king, Thank you for taking your time to provide us with your feedback. I apologize for the inconvenience you encountered during your recent stay with us. I assure you it is not standard for our parking attendants to require guest room keys back before allowing guest to depart the hotel. We have recently hired a few new associates in our parking department, perhaps this associate was not aware of the proper protocol. I will personally follow up on this and make sure that not only this associate in particular, but every team member on our staff is fully aware of the standard operating procedures. The design of the room was beautiful. The maintenance of the room was in poor repair. Part of the popcorn ceiling had open and bare areas near the window, traffic noise was bad, air conditioner noise was bad. Overall I would not return to this hotel.

I will follow up with the room you stayed in and check on that air conditioner. It typically is not loud enough to distract our valued guests which tells me I need to follow up on the unit.
