Turn on the airconditioning!

2014 十月 27

This is normally a great hotel, but during the transition between cooling and heating they are unable to deal with changing temperatures. I would avoid this hotel in fall and spring.

Dear Anthony, Thank you for your feedback, which I have also already replied to through our 'Heartbeat' online survey. I explained the cause of the high room temperature during this last stay & am sorry that this led to an uncomfortable experience for you. We are working on a couple of different options to give a better solution in 2015. Again, I'm sorry for this poor experience & am happy to discuss more at any time. Kind regards, David Travers General Manager

Air conditioning not working in any room, boiling hot

2014 十月 26

A/C was not working in any guest room in the hotel. Lies were told to all guests to stop them checking out early and finding alternative hotels. I was told the a/c was 'being fixed today' and I was told this on 3 consecutive days. My colleagues were told that the 'wind was in the wrong direction for the a/c to work'. Unbelievable. My room was 28-30deg which made it impossible to sleep which had a knock on effect to my work day. I was a zombie by the end of my trip. I won't be using this hotel again

Dear Stephen, Thank you for the feedback & I'm sorry you had such an obviously uncomfortable stay. I had already replied separately to your feedback through our 'Heartbeat' online survey, which I hope you will have received. Just to clarify - during the short autumn & spring seasons, this hotel (with many others in the city) relies on fresh air to ventilate & cool the rooms, once the air conditioning is switched off & before the heating is switched on. The air conditioning was switched off later this year, based on the forecasts we have access to - but we were caught out by an unseasonably warm weekend whilst you were staying. We will need to find a better solution for the future as such situations are no good for anyone. Again, I'm sorry for this poor experience & am happy to discuss further at any time. Kind regards, David Travers General Manager
