Good But Not Perfect

Great service, only let down by housekeeping's lack of attention to detail. The inside of the chiller door had mould on it. Spoke to Reception upon return to hotel from night out and it was quickly resolved when they sent someone up to clean the whole chiller. Also noticed a hole in the duvet cover which was again mentioned to Reception and an apology was received.

To be fair to the hotel, the member of staff at Reception when I left did apologize again for the two issues mentioned above, and provided IHG loyalty points as a good will gesture.

Not a bad night's sleep, a little warm though but was due to my not turning the room temperature low enough, so could not blame the hotel for that.

When checking the proposed invoice for my stay, noticed an additional charity donation had been added which had not been mentioned at any point. I queried this at Reception who could not tell me which charity would get the money, so I requested this be removed as I donate to certain charities only. It would be useful if this charity donation is mentioned to people before they pay for their stay to give people the option to accept or refuse it.

Also, whilst I am not against the hotel charging people for using the car park due to it's proximity to the NEC and ease of quick departure from the area, I would hope they would have waived the charge for anyone staying at the hotel. Not a major problem, but a little niggle nevertheless.
