Up to Crowne Plaza standards

By

May 27, 2015

A good nights sleep in a comfortable bed in a dark room. Attentive friendly staff. It is a shame about the monstrosity that is being built next door but it did not interfere with my stay, no noise.

Chef can't be arsed cooking tonight....

By

May 27, 2015

When I arrived I had had a long drive, I went to my room and wanted to order food. It was 21.25. I noted that steak was available till 10pm. I called room service only to be told that the kitchen had closed. When i asked why the response was that they had just closed early...no apology was given. The meal I had from the 24hr menu was not what I wanted. If it says 'available till 10pm' then it should be available till 10pm. I don't care if the chef has a hot date that evening or needs to get home and watch Game of Thrones. He should stay in the kitchen!

Overnight for concert

By

May 27, 2015

club

I loved the hotel in terms of comfort and style but they don't make it easy for concert goers. A temporary floating bridge across the lake made us all walk as though drunk, and the difficulty of getting a blind person down the steps to it was quite stressful. We wanted to eat before the concert but the restaurant did not open until 6:30 which was too late. Early opening on concert nights would be welcome. Instead we had to choose from a very limited bar menu, where the only thing we fancied, scampi, was not available. When we came back, the bar staff did not seem to be interested in anyone who was not buying alcohol at the bar. Those of us who wanted coffee had to wait for a long time before anyone actually noticed us - and only then because one of us went to the bar and tried to order coffee there.
