travaux et aménagement vieillissant

16 April 2015

Madame, Monsieur,

Busy Hotel

16 April 2015

I was surprised that breakfast was not included but I suppose I should have read the small print. I use IHG hotels a lot and this is the first time it was not included.

There was a very large educational conference and exhibition going on in all of the public areas including bars.
They completely took over and were pretty loud especially in the evenings. This caused us to need to go elsewhere out of the hotel.
Without this type of function going on the hotel would be fine.

Sleepless nights and hot days

14 April 2015

The hotel is incredibly noisy since it is adjacent to a hospital where all types of sirens go throughout the night. The room was hot and stuffy and the corridors were incredibly noisy...every closing door was heard. The wooden floors are lovely but it means you hear your neighbors above you every time they move. During the days the meeting rooms were incredibly hot and we often became soporific.
Having said that the hotel has an amazingly trained staff who are incredibly helpful and kind. Well done on the staff training. The housekeeping staff were friendly and considerate.
The building and its facilities are the primary problem; it's a little long in the tooth.

Dear Lela 19, Many thanks for your comments highlighting the amazingly trained team which makes us very proud and keeps us going. You are right that our historic building does come with its perks such as wooden floors. We are in fact working on several adjustments of the points you stated such as the door closing mechanisms for instance. Indeed the neighboring hospitals, fire brigade and police stations don't contribute to a quiet surrounding. For a city center location it is not always easy to influence these sound levels. I would like to invite you to request for our quiet zone next time when you stay with us where we have a dedicated zone where we are able to minimise these influxes. Please do let me know if you have further comments so I can investigate with the team and plan to make a difference. Warm regards from Belgium's capital. Benjamin Tenius Director of Operations
