i was disappointed with my stay this time. While the check in was v efficient, I found the following very disappointing:
Curtains - have a look at the right hand curtain, there's something disgusting on the back of it which I saw when pulling the curtain
teaspoons dirty with tea stains, seemed they had not been washed after last use
toilet dripping ++ - I'm a light sleeper and the toilet dripped constantly (until I filled the toilet bowl with toilet paper which 'dampened down the noise of the drip)

I have stayed in this hotel many, many times and have never been disappointed. The standard and service are always first class. Clean stylish rooms with very comfortable beds. I must give a complement to the terrific receptionist who booked us in, I'm sorry I did not get her name, but she would be easily identified by her accent, South African maybe, so professional and friendly, a really good first impression of the hotel.

I stayed one evening. Typically I would stay next door in the Holiday Inn Express. I chose the Crown Plaza hoping for a more upscale stay as It had been a long trip. The reception staff was understaffed and seemed worn. My room was incredibly hot and the A/C did not work. The consierge immediately checked into it and said he would assure it was fixed by the evening. upon returning, the staff had changed and the problem remained. After a second attempt to resolve it, I was told that a fan would be brought to the room. Upon returning after a late night dinner - the fan was tiny, old, and sounded like a hampster wheel. Upon my third visit to reception (now after 12am) I was told that someone would be up to look at the A/C. I pushed back. The problem was resolved with a larger quiet fan. Though the problem was resolved, I got little sleep and the staff seemed put out. I will stick to less expensive properties where my expectations aren't as high.
