Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Welcoming and comfortable The room was clean and the bed lovely and comfy - bathroom a bit jaded but clean and everything worked. Staff were pleasant and friendly. The fire alarm at 2am was less than welcome! but staff were efficient and the fire marshalls were in the right places to guide us out - I felt very safe. 08 July 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ranks as the worst Crowne Plaza Ive ever been in OK I paid a lot of money to have a junior suite. On arrival I was just checked in - no recognition of priority club. I then have a room on the second floor and no lifts throughout the duration of my stay worked - No offer to have my luggage placed in the room. The room - old, outdated, poorly maintained. Cheap furniture trying to be made to look old and quality. The fixtures and fittings in the bathroom either broken or unable to use as it would flood the place. All of the above brought to the attention of management - no response. The food in the restaurant is overpriced and of very, very poor quality. A burger van at 3am has a better taste. The noise from the non-double glazed windows at least keeps you occupied whilst lying on what can only be described as a bed from the dark ages throughout the night. Certainly not using the 'Sleep works' program here. All in all the worst place I've ever stayed in and to top it off I wrote to the manager twice to give my findings - No reply! This just shows the level of care and explains why the staff behave the way they do. It all comes from the top. 04 July 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT STAY First time in Edinburgh, weather excellent. Enjoyed stay at Roxburgh, all as we expected from hotel website. Bar prices expensive (usual 4 star hotel complaint). Staff always helpful, pool always accessible. Would definitely stay at this hotel again, have used Crown Plaza in Chicago and all their hotels seem of similar quality 01 July 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff excellent, pity about the room My usual room (243) had been specifically booked. Arrived Sunday to be told it was having maintenance work - available Monday night. Don't unpack - we'll shift you. On Monday - work going on. Tuesday it WILL be ready. Tuesday? turns out it has been turned into a conference room, and obviously unavailable. Substitute room spacious but no double glazing to Square - noisy. No suitable alternative. Pity that this marred yet another highly enjoyable week - what makes up for it all is the wonderful staff. Special mention this time for iain, Jimmy and Isabella, but they are all great. 16 June 2014
