Poor housekeeping performance / poor desk service

i stayed at this hotel for one night. Everything was acceptable until the morning hours. I had placed the "do not disturb" sign on my door and was attempting to sleep a little later in the morning. Housekeeping could be heard tapping on the adjacent room doors and announcing themselves before entering. If this was all I heard that would have been acceptable. Upon entering the rooms they made no attempt to minimize the noise generated by the room doors when they slammed shut. Housekeeping should be instructed to close the doors slowly to minimize the noise. Checkout time is 12 noon. Even though the "do not disturb" sign was on my door, housekeeping attempted entry to my room at 11:10 am. They used their key and started to open the door. Upon checkout, I told the desk personnel of my dissatisfaction with the housekeeping service and they did not apologize or offer to pass the information on to management. They proceeded to make excuses and tell me how heavy the doors are and they close themselves. I already know this!!!! When I return to my room late in the evening, I hold the door and allow it to close slowly so it doesn't disturb other quests. I spent 84 nights last year and 19 nights so far this year in IHG hotels and this is the first time I have a bad review.

Staff did not acknowledge me as an IHG member. I felt like I was just another guest checking in and out.

Dark Room

The room was adequately dark to sleep comfortably through the night and there was noise other noise that could be heard.
