Some significant wear and tear

While staff is super friendly and helpful at this hotel, rooms are quite "used" and show some significant wear and tear. There is no swimming pool and gym.

The aircon in my room was hard to adjust. The hotel seems pricy for what it offers.

I was sorry that your stay did not meet your expectation particularly in regards to our room condition. As part of our initiatives to reduce energy usage, our guest room's air-conditioning has been set on a default temperature yet I have requested our Engineering Dept to check to ensure that it is set at the correct temperature. For a better guest experience, our swimming pool and fitness center are closed for renovation however, we have a temporary fitness facility equipped with essential fitness equipment and you may request our Concierge for alternative swimming arrangement. Excellent service. All staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Room was spacious and thoughtfully put together. Food was great too.

Poor first impression and no pool

At checkin there was no record of my IHG Rewards Club number with the staff first being surprised that I was already a member, and then after being prompted on Platinum benefits was surprised to learn I was a Platinum elite. This is despite the booking being done on ihg.com directly with my membership number attached at booking.

It was also a prepaid rate yet my credit card was not charged until checkout despite it being booked a few months ago. Not typically an issue but the AUD has dropped a fair bit in that time, and also illustrates the operational issues this hotel seems to have.

Also, the swimming pool and tennis courts are now a large hole in the back as a new development is being built. No pool or gym replacements were communicated at checkin.
