Surprised, & Not In A Good Way

The trip was organised to celebrate my birthday, 5 of us arrived to celebrate the special event.

On arrival the wrong rooms had been allocated, this in itself was not a problem as the young lady who booked us in did a good job to convert the mistake. On arrival into the room i was disappointed, the decoration looked tired & the walk to the room made you feel as if you were in a low cost family "bums In Beds Hotel". The Bathroom was in need of a deep clean around the shower screen, which showed the early signs of mould.

The biggest disappointment was the door staff, i suggest if you need to rename the 2 gentlemen concerned "Chalk & Cheese". On arrival (Fri 24/04/15) the meet & greet & support offered was exceptional, engaging with my family & offering a world class welcome. The experience on the Sat morning (25/04/15) as we were leaving was the worst i have experienced. Considering i have travelled the world & spent the last 9 years in hotels i have experienced the best to the worst. It is with regret that I offer you the award for the worse one. We requested travel support (trains ...etc) the look on the gentleman's face advertised the fact that he didn't want to help. He was keener to deal with 2 foreign travellers behind, hence his obvious rush to get rid of us.

The Man was rude, & considering the thousands i have invested in your brand, i feel compelled to tell you.

full IHG Platinum benefits on free nights

This property recognises IHG Platinum members and even made an effort to give full benefits on free nights. I had a 3 night stay with first two nights on reward points. Upon check-in I was given an Club room with full club benefits. Staff are always helpful. The only downside is the lounge is a bit small and can get really crowded sometimes.

Never fails to please

I now stay at the Crowne Plaza city whenever I am in London.
The rooms are modern and a good size.
I always receive an upgrade, sometimes to a suite and club lounge access is always given to me which is much appreciated.

My only gripe is prior to free internet for all IHG members. It was unlimited and was about 100Mb upload and download. It has been limited now to 1Mb.

Maybe the hotel could offer the higher speeds to Platinum members?
