Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brilliant Hotel fabulous hotel, friendly staff, food is amazing but a little pricey. cleanliness is to a very high standard, the location is very handy, however I would recommend taking you own alcohol and drinks as I paid £3.75 bottle of water. Overall is a very good hotel and will definitely be retuning on my next visit to Manchester. 24 February 2014

The only other issue was the wifi, which was very slow. Breakfast was lovely, something for everyone. We would definitely stay here again. 24 February 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service. Brilliant location. I have just returned from a weekend at The Crowne Plaza in Manchester where I truly enjoyed my stay. Even before arriving I was in contact with Agata from Concerige and she was so helpful, always on hand to offer directions etc! I cannot praise her enough! Upon arrival we received a complimentary room upgrade with made me even happier. Our room was on the 7th floor and was very spacious and very nice! The bed was probably the best bed I've slept in in a hotel. Staff were always very helpful! Great location also! 13 February 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this hotel. I went to Manchester overnight last Saturday. I booked the room late and didn't know what to expect of the Crown Plaza. For what I thought was a reasonable price, considering it was a weekend and I didn't book much in advance, I showed up and was greeted by nice, friendly staff. They directed me up to my room and I was very impressed. It was like a shiny, funky space capsule - black and white with splashes of pink and red. The room was spotless with a fab easy-chair and foot-stool, large wall mounted TV, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and a really clean, modern bathroom with great little products and robes and slippers. I was also chuffed to find a mini bar (though I didn't partake). The bed was very comfortable and the noise from the street wasn't loud (probably one of the advantages to being on the fifth floor). Another bonus was the hotel bar. I had a glass of house champagne with a friend in there, late on Saturday evening, and not only was the bar welcoming but the champagne was delicious! If I had to find a niggle it would simply be that I didn't like the coffee at breakfast! It tasted instant. Plus I heard a little bit of knocking on doors late at night but it wasn't horrendous, I still slept. I really like this hotel and next time I visit Manchester I will be returning. I will also recommend it to friends. Clean, funky and friendly. Well done Crown Plaza. 06 February 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location for the Northern Quarter and shopping I stayed here as it was close to the Northern Quarter for a night out on the town. We were greeted warmly and the check-in process was smooth and quick. The room was really nice, beds were great and the bathroom was lovely too. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The only thing that rankled slightly was breakfast, being told that it is one figure if we pre-booked at check-in, however if we decided the following morning that we wanted breakfast then the rate is more expensive. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not as good as Expected We reserved a "Shop till you Drop" room for 4. When checking in, we were advised that the room had only been set up for two but that housekeeping would bring the extra towels, cups, toiletries etc. None arrived and despite tracking down housekeeping, still nothing arrived. Having shopped all day we returned to the hotel to find that we still didn't have enough towels etc so we had to telephone housekeeping again. Finally, 8 hours after checking in, the towels and toiletries arrived!! Breakfast is buffet style but you can order "non-standard" items from the breakfast menu. Two of our party ordered porridge which consisted of raw oats and was described as "disgusting". There were pieces of egg shells in the fried eggs which was a little off putting. The room was small for 4 however, the bathroom is a good size. We did think the hotel would be better than our actual experience so it was a little disappointing as it was a special weekend shopping for a wedding dress. The area is not particularly nice either. All in all, we have stayed in nicer places in Manchester. The gift voucher and free drink on the package was a nice touch though. 06 February 2014

Checked into our room for a family of 4 with our 2 grown up children, 2 double beds and plenty of room for the 4 of us, room and bathroom spotlessly clean and modern. Separate shower cubicle and bath, would love the shower at home, so powerful!!! Just in Manchester for 1 night for a concert and hotel within 2 minute walk to the Arndale Centre and (following directions from reception) 5 minutes to the phones4u arena. Perfect Location. Had dinner at the hotel and this was fabulous with great food, good atmosphere and exceptional, friendly service. Restaurant price was no more expensive than any large chain restaurant. All in all perfect hotel, could not fault this at all, Definitely returning on our next trip to Manchester. 21 January 2014

I normally stay at the premier inn close to the arena. in april I went with my husband, we had a double room it was excellent, so when I needed to go with my sister this januray I choose to book this hotel again. This time we stay in a room with 2 double beds which was great as we did'nt have to share a bed and we did not have to sleep in single beds. This is the 1st time I have come across an hotel which offers 2 double beds. we had our meal here before we attended the concert, we had the 3 course offer which included a glass of wine, I must say the food with excellent. after a good nights sleep we also had our full english breakfast which is self service. Over all I think this is an excellent hotel, we will be returning again and again. 18 January 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As a regular guest, I always enjoy staying at the Crowne Plaza, Manchester I always look forward to staying at the Crowne Plaza in Mancheter City Centre. It is always my hotel of choice when in Manchester. I tend to arrive late after a long drive but the reception team are always friendly and welcoming and that cheers me up. It is lovely to see friendly faces after a long drive. The hotel is in a great location, just out of the centre of Manchester but within easy walking distance of all facilities. The tram station is also nearby to get around to other parts of Manchester and to Manchester Piccadilly Rail station. The hotel decor is to my taste, the beds are comfy and the food is consistently both good quality and relatively good value. The best thing about the hotel though is the efficient team of people who do a great job of keeping the hotel running smoothly and make a stay at this hotel easy and enjoyable every time. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Club room The beds were comfortable, 2 doubles big enough to share. We were 4 ladies sharing 1room. The lighting was poor in the bedroom especially for doing our makeup, we couldn't all fit into the bathroom! The safe was free and big enough for our iPads and jewelry. We had to request more cups and dressing gowns as the room was only set up for 2. The club lounge on the 8th floor was friendly and the drinks plentyful. Breakfast on Saturday morning was very good and kept well stocked, the dirty dishes were quickly taken away by the friendly waitress. Sunday morning was a different waitress and a completely different experience! Nothing was replaced, at 9-45 the butter ran out, the bread was just about gone, there were no clean plates. By 10 there was a que of people waiting for cerial, bread, pastrys, in fact everything, the breakfast is advertised as served until 10-30! If this had been my first experience of the club lounge I doubt I would pay to upgrade again. There were a lot of unhappy guests. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the shops during the day and the Northern Quarter is a good place to spend the evening. 15 January 2014

But the food on this occasion was a little bland and uninteresting and the coffee was the worst I"ve tasted in a very long while. I must admit that I'm not a fan of Starbucks anyway but the coffee I was served had far less flavour and a great deal more bitter (interesting combination) than the usual Starbucks. Such a shame as I enjoy a coffee at the end of a meal and now, next time i stay at this hotel, I will probably eat elsewhere so that I am able to do that. 11 January 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall good experience, great service Myself and my partner stayed here for 5 nights over New Years Eve. The room was clean and lovely, but the bed was too soft for both of us and after a couple of nights our backs were really hurting us. We had a Club room and therefore had access to the Club Lounge. The facilities were excellent and the staff in the Club Lounge over this time were also excellent, particularly a young girl with long blonde hair who regularly worked in the Club Lounge during our stay. She was welcoming and very efficient. Unfortunately we could not see her name on the badge that she wore so I cannot name her specifically. We were very disappointed that although we had paid more to have a Club room because of the extra complimentary services over the duration of our stay, there were people in the Club Lounge who were staying elsewhere in the hotel for a cheaper price and were being invited into the Lounge by other guests and therefore receiving free alcohol drinks and canapés. This shouldn't be happening and you should have procedures to avoid this, such as signing in when you enter the Club Lounge and stating what room you are in. It did affect our stay as we were so annoyed that this should be happening when we had paid significantly more for this luxury. 09 January 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely hotel and fantastic location. We were very impressed with the hotel. It is modern and very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was a club suite as we have a 13 year old daughter so we needed a larger room. It was a really good size, as was the bathroom. There was complimentary bottled water and chocolates, which is a nice touch. The only downside was breakfast was disappointing on our second morning. They kept running out of things which took a while to be replenished and they ran out of bacon completely. The hotel is in a great position and very close to the Arndale Centre and the big shops like Harvey Nics and Selfridges. It is also close to the Printworks, where there are a variety of restaurants and bars including Hard Rock Café. We stayed here as we were going to Old Trafford for the football and it was easy to catch a tram to the ground. It was only about 10 mins away by tram. We would definitely stay here again. 07 January 2014

In addition, the shower was so small I could barely stand in it certainly not clean an soap myself. I am not big 5'11 and less than 80kg. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A lovely stay in Manchester. We booked a standard room with two doubles for ourselves and our two little ones. On arriving we were allocated an upgrade to a deluxe two double club room (616) and invited to use the club lounge. The room was much larger than we expected with plenty of space around the beds and with seating benches/chairs etc. We could not fault the room in any way and it was more than adequate for our needs, everything worked as expected and our little ones (2 & 4) loved it as they always do when staying in hotels. The staff were very warm and friendly, both on reception and in the restaurant for breakfast. We only had a coffee in the club lounge later at night, well, I did anyway as the little ones were in bed with mum supervising so can't comment on the food/canapés etc, but the coffee was nespresso self-service so was as you would expect. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality and hit the spot, the only failure of the entire stay was that scrambled eggs need to be ordered from the kitchen, only friend eggs being out by default, We ordered two scrambled for our little ones when we sat down, nearly thirty minutes later they still hadn't arrived despite two further prompts so in the end we asked them not to bother as the little ones has finished their breakfast and had moved onto a final croissant. This was hard to understand as when we sat it was very quiet with only around 4 to 5 other tables occupied. This was a shame, but didn't detract from the overall stay. 06 January 2014

We arrived early after an early morning flight and were able to check in straight away even though it was New Year's Eve. This was great as we were able to catch a few hours sleep before going out to enjoy the festivities. The room was lovely and clean, really comfortable bed and great shower. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that but everything I experienced in the hotel was really good and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. 06 January 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by great location This hotel is in a great location, close to shops, restaurants ect. The room was average if anything a bit small if four adults were sharing it. The hotel website boasts of great sights across Manchester city centre, not from our room we got the Holiday Inn Express and a building site. Our bathroom had a few faults as well, the door handle was loose, the tap in the basin wobbled about every time you used it and the toilet didn't flush right, the flush buttons were really stiff to push. Can't comment on the food as we never ate there and the only time we spoke to the staff was when we checked in which was fine and when we went to the bar for a drink one night and the bar man was polite and efficient. 01 January 2014

My booking clearly said breakfast was inclusive however the reception insisted it wasn't, bit disappointing. Maybe this member of staff needs further training or glasses. Tip check your booking and ask, a guest could end up paying twice for inclusive packages included in IHG deals. Loved the stay would recommend staying here. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay This was a great stay on Boxing Day night, in town for Liverpool's game against Man City. Upgraded to a lovely Exec room on the top floor. Quick check-in and check-out. Overall a great stay at a bargain price, thanks to the member's sale. The bed was particularly comfortable. A couple of minor niggles: The continental breakfast in the lounge could have been better -- some scrambled eggs for example would have been nice. And perhaps some muffins? The set-menu at dinner was very tasty -- we had the veggie option -- but would have benefited from bigger portion sizes which were a little small. Also, since the service charge was specified as being a percentage of the food and beverage charge, the 20% Platinum discount off the latter should have reduced the former, but it didn't. The bottle of wine we chose was very good. The lobby gents are also worth a look for the urinals which are bright yellow plastic conical sections. Depending on your taste, you'll find them funky or garish, but a talking point for sure. 30 December 2013
