Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Welcome after a late flight into Manchester Airport
With my late flight arriving from Marrakech to Manchester airport it was nice to have the Crowne Plaza within walking distance (for me at least although it was over a busy carriageway)....I got a very good prize for paying in advance and the breakfast was excellent with the cook available to cook fresh fried eggs (as I hate buffet style scrambled eggs which is usually on offer in many hotels).
Friendly staff....hope to be there again in march when I do the same trip back

I have stayed at this hotel many times and service has always been second to none however, this time I wasn't offered upgrade to club room and when I asked was told no availability and I still couldn't pay the extra to go in the lounge or have breakfast. As a club member I was disappointed at this even though I was willing to stay in the same room that I had been allocated on arrival. I was also disappointed that upon my arrival on a very cold teatime the room was freezing & when I rang reception I was told to read the instructions on the air con unit but it took a good hour to warm up!!
The only reason I would currently recommend this property is due to its location.

This hotel is ideally located when flying from Manchester airport. The location, facilities, parking, rooms, staff and service were excellent and we would not hesitate in staying there in the future.

It's shocking that members of the rewards system, at platinum level, are not allowed in the club lounge at this hotel. That's what / who club lounges were invented for!! I was told at check in that you have to pay extra to have access to the club lounge, which is not like the rest of the Crowne Plaza chain of hotels, so why does this hotel have a different (and unfair) policy.
I could not sleep because the room was freezing cold, even though the heating had been on maximum for several hours. The heating unit was very noisy, did not get hot and the grill in the ceiling had been moved / opened like there had been some attempt to fix it. Therefore, as far as I'm concerned, the hotel had knowingly checked me into a room with a broken heater.
This hotel does not match the standard of the rest of the IHG hotels / brands. I stayed on a rewards night too and am therefore even more disappointed there was nothing special about the stay - what a waste of hard earned points.

it was good place to stay, but will need to consider alternative due to price increasing. Hotel has old infrastructure and does not offer any new since 2008.

Good hotel with good staff and service. Particularly like the Asian restaurant where the food is good and service really friendly making it a pleasurable experience. Trouble was the hard mattress, so hard it hurt to lie on my side and the pillow was like a sandbag. Need softer mattresses and a choice of pillows and this will be ideal airport hotel.

food was impressive especially the belgian waffle dessert in the restaurant. stayed for a week and my only fault is that bathroom shower curtain does not keep the water from flooding the floor.
