Rooms always clean, bed linen spotless. Tea and coffee etc always welcome after a long journey. Would recommend to anyone. As indeed we have to our family and friends. 16 February 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great but.... We invited family members for dinner in the hotel restaurant. The food was amazing the service was terrible. We had the set meal for £25.00 each with 2 complimentary drinks inc. we didn't get our first drink until we were eating the main course, even then we had to remind the waiter!! In the morning on check out we were presented with a bar bill! Which we had paid cash for the night before. My brother remarked at the time " why does the bar man need your room number if you have paid him cash?" I guess the bar man can make quite a lot of money on corporate customers who don't check there bill in the mornings. The restaurant was the only thing that soured our taste in our stay. On a plus note, the power shower in the bathroom was the best power shower iv ever had in my whole life. 09 February 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent and good value We booked a 2 room package that included parking for 15 days and DBB. Excellent value for money. The set 3 course evening meal was very nice and staff were so friendly. We then enjoyed a cooked breakfast the next morning before leaving for the airport. Both rooms, as usual were good, clean and we soon got the heating working! Transfer to and from the airport was quick and on our return journey at 6.30am rang the hotel and we were collected within 10 mins. Greeted by a lovely cheerful man on reception (yes too early to remember to get his name) who handed over the car keys and made sure we found our car. Have stayed at Crowne Plaza a number of times and have always had a very good service and staff are always pleasant. 28 January 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very accomodating on our return from a long haul holiday,we arrived early morning,shattered.i enquired at reception if there was a chance we could have our room earlier than the customary 2p.m. check in time.although we we were given a different room to the previous allotted room,there was no problem at all. rooms are more than adequate.room service was prompt and varied.breakfast started from 4.30 a.m.,which was great because our outbound journey was an early flight.a huge array of traditional and continental fare was available.hot,fresh and very tasty.thankyou,crowne plaza for everything. 23 January 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel This is my first stay at this hotel,i am a frequent flyer and have been staying at a near by hotel for over 20 years with my outbound and inward journeys,due to my last visit to the hotel not mentioned being the worst i have ever had and the obvious decline of the hotel i decided it was time for a change, Everything about the Crowne Plaza was beyond my expectations from the reception area and greeting ,to the room,so nice to have a thermostat that i could control myself in my room and not to be freezing as in my previous hotel, My family dropped me off at the hotel and they stayed to have some food with me,we ate in the bar and the food and service was first class. I have definetley been converted to Crowne Plaza and am looking forward to my next visit. 18 January 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Good overall but bad for entertainment and internet Excellent comfort and cleanliness but disappointed in the cost of internet access when the hotel next door offers this within the price. Also the "free TV" available is very limted which increases the need for internet access. Additional channels and Movies are of course available but these are at an additional cost, which most companies do not like to pay for. Convienient parking for airport Terminal 3, it is about a 5 minute walk if you cut through the short stay car park. Be aware Booking through a third party removed my ability to claim points on my account. 17 January 2014

Had to pay 10 pounds for internet even if was supposed to be included. 1000 reward points at 5 pounds charged to any Customer that would buy but crew at desk will give you a coupon saying "it will not work for you". Pay attention, offer limited to UK residents only. I'm a big fan of Crowne Plaza and I always had great experiences all over the world. This one is simply not in line with the brand. They are really close to airport, so they might be good deal for a quick night before an early flight, otherwise not a great choice since you can ear planes from your room. 14 January 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel noise We have enjoyed a number of stays at Crowne Plaza. This time, however, our night was disturbed by a persistent, periodic noise coming from outside the window. It is unlikely to be an airport noise. Instead perhaps related to some kind of venting from the hotel building a few metres away from the window. This needs to be investigated before it disturbs too many other potential customers looking for a good night's sleep before a (long) flight. The room price was a good value regarding facilities , comfort and location. Nevertheless , i just regret that internet wifi is not yet free of charges : nowadays more and more hotels offer free wifi and it is a must so as to stay in contact with people. It is wier that Crowne Plaza hotel has to make this free wifi service included for customers : it could be a reason why a customer may not book or won't come again in your hotels... 14 January 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Passing Through Stayed with the park and fly option which worked well. A few problems on the outward bound with the restaurant which were corrected by the staff in good order? Upon our return although a gold member we had to wait while a non member was attended to in preference .... A small issue but not correct. The rooms are comfortable but a little too small for a club floor and a Crowne Plaza however this did not spoil t he overall experience which was a quick in and out to the airport, when're the shuttle also was efficient. We would do this again even with the issues mentioned above as the overall attention of the staff was excellent 13 January 2014

Paid the difference to upgrade to the Kingsize room which also gave us access to the lounge and free drinks during a 2 hour period in the evening. Food was excellent in both bar for lunch and restaurant for dinner. Only problem was that the computer system in the business centre was locked down so it would not allow pop-ups which stopped us printing out our Ryanair boarding passes directly from their site which could have cost ud £140!!!! Eventually got round it by using our own laptop to print to pdf, email it to myself and then use the business centre machine to print my email. Very frustrating and annoying and spoiled an otherwise pleasant stay!! 13 January 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Feels like home Stayed several times. Staff encountered have invariably been pleasant and helpful in meeting our needs from reservations through to departure. A mid-evening crisis on our last but one visit (Oct 13) involved a suitcase combination that refused to work. With an early rise scheduled, we were resigned to breaking into the suitcase at our holiday destination. As a last resort, we asked reception if they could help and a trivial matter for the staff was recognised as being of much greater concern for my wife and I. Long story short, their internet search and a maintenance man with better eyesight than ours managed to resolve the problem to our great relief. This answers the question we are often asked as to why we travel to Manchester when there are so many other options closer to home! 13 January 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Acceptable Transit Hotel Stayed at beginning and end of a holiday. The hotel has excellent proximity to train station and airport terminals and runs a shuttle-bus to both. First stay saw fridge inactive and the bar area was freezing cold with the over-sensitive automatic doors letting in howling gusts of cold wind. That needs to be addressed. Staff friendly an attentive. Not a fan of the mandatory service charge; I think that's a bit cheeky for an hotel! Return stay got off to a bad start, for me, with a rather frosty foreign receptionist. I won't name her but she needs a lesson in basic manners as well as how to act in a hospitality environment. Same goes for the staff member who arrived at our room and queried the existence of a previous guest's food-tray that was still outside our room at 1pm in the afternoon as we checked in. Air-con took forever to work and during the night a faint yet persistent smell of cigarette smoke permeated its way in our room. We were too tired and jet-lagged to ask for another room but, again, this needs looked in. Breakfast has a wide selection of muesli, fruit, breads, cold-cuts and also cooked food with a chef ready to do eggs your way. Cannot fault this and their coffee was excellent, too, something that is a regular failure with hotels all the way up to 5-star. We weren't bothered by aircraft noise or that of other guests and I'd stay here again if the issues I mentioned above are addressed and rectified. 13 January 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Loudness of the rooms Jets taking off most of the night is not an issue thanks to what looks to be sound proof windows. But in my room I could hear everything that was happening in the hall way outside my room. It strikes me how poor the sound insulation is within the hotel that manages to keep noise from the airport on the outside so well. The room door looks very old and has a big gab underneath, which I have never understood in the UK, as it does not indicate to me a great level of safety, should a fire occur. Having a proper fire door also improves on the sound level, so might be something to consider... The restaurant had food flying out, and it worked really well. On the downside was a bland starter with a lot of pickled olives, nothing special at all, plus the chef’s passion for using semi dried tomatoes for quite a few dishes. Burger meal was okay, though the steak was a little blackened from the very warm grill. Breakfast was a whole lot better, very nice and well replenished at all times. Overall, my recommendations for staying at the Crown Plaza, but get those doors looked after, as there is more noise from within the hotel than from the outside, despite being so close to the runway. 12 January 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a good night's sleep Have stayed at this hotel three times now, the first time was fine (perhaps because we had booked a higher grade of room?), but the second time the sheets were just placed on top of the beds folded in half with the quilt over, the sides of the mattresses were bare and we made the beds up ourselves! We did mention this to reception who seemed indifferent. Both the second and third time we stayed it was very noisy throughout the night and we left for an early flight very tired, after a constantly disturbed sleep. 12 January 2014
