Wonderful Stay

27 February 2015

Had a wonderful stay at The Crowne Plaza Caversham.

The hotel is in a lovely location beside the river Thames..
I traveled to Reading on the train and the hotel is approx ten minutes walking distance from the station..

The hotel is spotless and the staff (in all depts) are very helpful and polite, they are a credit to the hotel..

The gym and leisure facilities are excellent.

I will return to this hotel ..

Maintaining the Standards

26 February 2015

We frequently use Crowne Plaza both in the UK and latterly in the USA. The standards in the UK have been, and continue to be, very high which is always enhanced by the attitude, friendliness and effectiveness of the staff. Thank you CP.

Disappointing Executive Club reservation.

26 February 2015

Booked an executive club room. The room smelt awful and could hear neighbours arguing and baby crying next door. Also very small compared to others I have stayed in. Asked to be moved. The receptionist was extremely sympathetic and helpful. Unfortunately for us the hotel was full booked so only had standard rooms available but this was larger and quieter, so we moved there. Not enough seating in Club lounge or general lounge areas. Wanted room service dinner, but full room service closes at 10pm,(tried to order at 10.10), so all they could offer was lasagne or veg curry. Ate out instead. Went to club lounge for breakfast in the morning - 1/2 hour before it finished - again no seating and absolutely nothing left, hung around for a bit but food was not being replenished and still no seating so decided to go and eat in main area - the food I must say was fantastic, although a very noisy hall to eat in. At check out I pointed out that we had not actually been able to stay in the Club room, so they gave me a small discount. The staff here are really good - friendly, professional and helpful, but clearly rushed off their feet with full hotel. Really need to address the number of seats in lounge / club lounge though - we wanted a coffee after breakfast before departure, and no where to sit. Huge chairs and sofas - huge space, but could easily fit in more furniture.

Crowne Plaza in Britain

26 February 2015

A very nice hotel in a very convenient location. Short walk from city centre and railway station. Only disappointment was the old bathroom with shower in bath that you have to climb into. Also smokers gathering directly in hotel entrance was unpleasant. Just didn't quite feel as smart as other Crowne Plaza's I've stayed in.
