Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by thank you! We stayed for a long weekend to do some sightseeing. The room was very nice and clean. The bathroom door seemed to stick and was not easy to close or open. (Humidity?) We used the room service for coffee delivery in the morning and the service was spectacular! One evening, about midnight, our phone rang and it was the front desk reporting a complaint of loud children in our room. When we notified them we had no children, they verified our room number and they had dialed incorrectly. Three more times during the night, the same call came. Admittedly, I was not pleased with being awoken and made mention of this the next morning at the front desk. Nobody seemed to know what was going on with this incident so I chalked it up to prank calls from one of the school kids staying on the same floor. (School field trip) I'll make sure to do this trip again but not during the school session. May 18, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location we were in old Alexandria for the Garden Walk, and the hotel was in easy walking distance to all the properties. Rooms are clean, quiet and nicely furnished. The staff was friendly and very helpful giving us directions. There was a complimentary shuttle to and from the wharf, which we used for dinner, so we didn't have to drive over. We did not use the restaurants as we were there only for one night and had to get an early start. I would highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure. Great spot to book for next year's April garden walk in old Alexandria! April 27, 2013

The accomodations and staff are among the best I have experienced. My stay was far too brief in such a nice place. I will absolutely recommend to others as well as return soon. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great overall I realize that the room you are assigned can make a world of difference, but based on the high floor room I was given, everything was absolutely perfect. We did not utilize the bar/restaurant while there on a brief visit, but it seemed very nice. The room and bed was very comfortable and clean, great pressure hot water shower, and check in was very friendly and hospitable. We did the easy walk to Old Town and I believe the metro was also within easy walking distance. With easy access into DC, we plan to return for later trips that we might have more time. Since we arrived late and left the next day, the front desk waived the parking fee for us but my only suggestion would be that parking here always be included anyway. I think this is the best Crown Plaza we have ever stayed at. April 14, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I was a bit disappointed I had very high hopes for our stay at the Crowne Plaza. At check-in, I encountered my first problem. The gentleman who checked us in was rude when I informed him that I understood that parking would be $15/day and free the day of the wedding (I had information from the wedding invitation as documentation). He quite rudely informed me that it was $20/day. The breakfast at Chequers was very nice-the food was hot/cold, a good selection and the servers were great. However, I do not believe it was worth an additional $15/day, per person. I know that we were given quite a room discount because of my nephew's wedding, but I would rather have paid the Cherry Blossom rate and gotten the breakfasts included. My soon-to-be sister-in-law and I went to the desk (Sunday afternoon) for change and the clerk on duty was quite rude and had an attitude. The minute she saw the manager, she changed her tune. Upon check out I asked about the parking-I was informed that the person who negotiated the rates was not in. I also showed by club membership, and that got me the reduced rate. I should have been given it when I showed the information from the wedding invitation. The cable service was spotty at best. Definitely room for improvement. April 13, 2013
