Close to Reagan, Metro, and Food

I've stayed twice at this hotel for business. I love that I can walk from Reagan airport (via the Mt. Vernon Trail) to the hotel. Access to the metro is close (and mostly covered, if rain is in the forecast). There is also close access to enough food locations to keep you busy trying new things for the better part of a week.

A great stay in DC in the season of cherry blossom

The overall service and the room condition is great and we enjoyed our stay.

We had some flooding issue in the first night but the staff member responded to it very quickly and compensated us with free breakfast. The front desk staffs are very friendly and helpful and we also enjoy the airport shuttle service of this hotel.

This hotel is very close to the main cherry blossom site and the subway station is just within a walk distance. There are c a couple of nice restaurants in the plaza of Crystal city station.

There are something I need to point out for the future guest: 1, the breakfast is not free and you have to purchase it; 2, the queen size bed is very small and we thought it can take me, my wife and my 1.5 year old son, and we were wrong; 3, Both my wife and I were not recognized as IHG Rewards Club Members by the staffs until I inquire them about the welcome bonus of the club member, but the lady in the front desk said there is no welcome bonus, which I believe is not right; 4, we redeemed our annual free nights for this hotel when we had choice to pick up the Intercontinental hotel, but the overall experience in Crowne Plaza is similar with typical Holiday Inn, which is not that impressed. So next time we may pick a higher tier hotel in the better location, or just book a holiday inn express that offers breakfast.

Best experience on short notice

First time at a Crowne Plaza and pleasantly surprised. I had other choices near the airport but reading reviews encouraged a try and glad I did. From the free shuttle ride to checkin to dining at the hotel restaurant all staff were polite and friendly. Room was spacious and very clean. In room coffee is a plus with up to midnight room service if you choose that route. This hotel is convienent for anyone that requires a short or long stay in the area. I highly recommend a try at the Crowne Plaza / Washington National Airport. I wrote a con in the column provided that it's a 20 minute walk to nearest stores but if shuttle driver is available you can hitch a ride.

Multiple charges

By

April 10, 2015

My employer booked a room and paid for one night. When I checked in I was asked to give my credit card to pay for incidental and I checked out assuming that I won't be charged for the room since I stayed twice in the past month and the employer paid for the room upon making reservation. To my surprise, I found out a day later when I check my bank account that the hotel charged me. I called my employer thinking that they didn't pay for my stay but was stunned to know that they always have paid using the same method and the credit card. I called the hotel and talked to three different people two of which hanged up on me and I tried to call the manager several times but couldn't reach him as he has an answer machine instead. The third person I talked to sent me a receipt when I requested it and he couldn't explain why I was charged if my employer paid already. He couldn't explain to me either why I wasn't given a receipt when the hotel charged my credit card without telling me.
