My favorite place to stay in Asheville

The location makes it a little tricky to get to downtown or Biltmore, but the value reflects that and the greenery surrounding the hotel makes up for the rest. We've stayed here before, so it was a lot easier for us to get around. I was hesitant to book this time based on the bad reviews concerning the construction, so I called the front desk and was reassured that there would be no construction during our stay. Imagine my surprise when we pulled up in front of the main lobby decked out in construction fences and tape... I did not appreciate the deception. In the end it didn't affect our stay that much and the staff was accommodating...
One thing that would be great would be if the hotel added a kickboxing bag in the fitness room!!!

Overall good experience, The price with discount was reasonable. The room was good but the TV reception was horrible. It was under construction but it will be nice when completed. The staff at the front desk was at best average when we checked in. Not very helpful or caring. We checked in at 11:30am and room was not ready until 5pm. We had a toddler with us and they didn't seem to care. Overall cleanliness was very good. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and service was excellent. .

The hotel will want you to have the buffet, and if you don't, you might have to wait a while if they are busy.

construction and amenities

Construction caused very harsh smells throughout the first floor. The amenities were not as described in the website - namely the views and Jacuzzi. Was denied a different room upon arrival when I asked to change because our rooms were overlooking the parking lot. I was told only if I had a problem in my room could I change. Should have walked out of the hotel at that moment instead of staying. Room not quite clean upon arrival.
