Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Unexpected response While I have stayed at one other property, I was excited about this particular stay due to the unforgettable stay I had at the Jacksonville, FL property, but that was very short lived. Upon arrival, I was greeted as a Priority Club member and proceeded to my room. A friend was traveling with me, normally I travel with my 14 mos. old grandson. Upon entering the room I noticed that there was not a refrigerator or microwave and called the desk to request one be sent up. In the mean time, my friend sat down on the bed and as she was running her hand across the bed spread, discovered a small piece of what appeared to be glass. I again immediately called the front desk and was told that someone would be bringing up new keys. I waited approx. 15 minutes and when no one came I went downstairs to retrieve the new keys. I asked the front desk attendant, for the keys and she handed them over to me. She stated the manager on duty had come up to the room but no one answered. I informed her that I was in the room waiting, she asked me what my room number was, I told her and she stated that he was apparently at the wrong room, so when no one answered he came back downstairs! There were a few more questionable actions that had occured but when I questioned Madison she always had a very sound answer. For the manager she stated he had only been on property three days. I asked if that was how long he'd been in hospitatlity, she said no. When we were given two complimentary welcome beverage tickets because of the incident, I discovered that another party we traveled with had also been given the same number of tickets even though there were three in their party. We were also given free complimentary full breakfast tickets as a way to apologize and yet when I stayed in Jacksonville, we were also given these tickets? As I told the front desk attendant and the other assistant Manger ( I don't remember her name but she is pregnant) I love Crowne Plaza hotels but will probably not choose this particular property again. The outdoor gardens are beautiful as is the gym and saunas, but as far as guest services, I have had better treatment in other property stays. My main question remains, if I had been traveling with my grandson and HE discovered the glass, how differently would things have been treated?? March 29, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Why can't they get this right? I have stayed at this hotel for several nights before. It gets worse each time I stay. During this stay, the first room I got had a broken air conditioner. When I asked to be switched, the staff at the Front Desk told me there were no other rooms available. I insisted further that I am sure they have rooms to switch me in. After 20 minutes someone brought me a key. He apologized and told me he would give me a voucher for a free coffee at the Starbucks. Although he said he would slide it under my door, he did not. I never received it. The next room I got had wallpaper glue all over the walls. I know as I took the time to wipe it off myself. The alarm clock was not set to the proper time. There is a lock on the alarm clock for that room, so I couldn't even set the time myself. The desk chair when I pulled it out had a dried milky substance on the end of the chair (I don't doubt knowing what that is). The next day I got back from my meetings and my key did not work. Evidently when they brought the key to my second room, they did not program it for the correct number of nights. I had to back to the Front Desk and wait forever for them to re-program my key. I did not like that as I was completely exhausted at that point. I mentioned all of these things to the staff at checkout. I even showed her pictures of the dried substance on the desk chair. In return she took a coffee from Starbucks off of my bill. She didn't even say sorry or make eye contact -- which is all I wanted. I have to come back to Atlanta one more time, I will not be back to this hotel which is unfortunate as my meetings were in a building not far from the hotel, so I enjoyed being able to walk. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff Staff member that checked me in wasn't very attentive and helpful. Didn't tell me anything about the motel or where the rooms were. No breakfast coupons at check in. After two days i went to the desk and got the coupons. The you charged me for one of two breakfast. the desk person said he would take it off. At check out i noticed it wasn't removed but actually charged. At check out he assured me he would credit back and did. Wouldn't have had a problem if the check in was done correct. March 27, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by excellent staff, poor room had to change room because of very noisy ice machine on 10th floor. The replacement room was not in very nice condition, I could hear the guy next door snoring, and the toilet was, how shall we put it politely, not completely flushed. Made me miss the noisy ice machine problem. Staff was nice and the food was good. However, getting a good night sleep trumps all other considerations. March 25, 2013

There were minor issues with the room that were resolved by the staff in a very quick and professional manner. It was a great stay, staff was excellent. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by tax on bill Great service overall, all employees were very friendly. Shower pull is very difficult to use. Peach and lemonade refreshments were delicious. My complaint is on the bill, the Thursday night tax was more than the Friday and Sat., and no one could really explain the reason for the difference , nor could they correct the difference. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very Nice Hotel ; But staff needs hospitality training Hotel was very nice and clean but I had several issues with Hotel Staffs, to be fair, high end restaurant staff that was owned and operated by 3rd party company. I don't want to put down all of staff due to couple ignorant/untrained members. I went to the Italian restaurant that was on the hotel property and it was recommend by concierge staff by the hotel and my family and friends were very much looking forward to the dinner. When came down to the restaurant, the host person looked upset and with bad attitude that people are coming down for dinner; she asked us how many for dinner?, then we stated 8 people, then host person said we can't seat you then moved down to next waiting people. She didn't explain why or when. We waited then we left. We stayed at the club level so we wanted to take a advantage of the water and small refreshments. I went to the club level and my key card didn't allowed me to enter and my wife who was already there,she opened the door and all of suddenly a staff comes out and threaten me that she will call the security. It turn out that hotel computer was down and all key cards wasn't working. I had no idea why any staff would threaten a guess over a 2 dollar drink is beyond my understanding. March 21, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Over-charged Front dest people were friendly but my complaint is ; I took Romance Package which includes complimentary breakfast for two, but I have got charged for the breakfast, which I was not aware when I checked-out, because the invoice I had received did not show breakfast charge, but I found out later that I was charged for the breakfast, though I reminded a server that it was an included deal. I called the hotel later, but they just transfered me to accounting and nobody answered but recorded voice, so I left a message but never had reply. I feel I have got cheated. I still want refund. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Four strikes, you are out. Ask front desk if they could look up my platinum number and apply it to my stay. "Yes, we have it and have a good night". Check the next evening and it had not been done. Strike one. Asked if the loud fan in the bathroom that runs 24hours a day could be adjusted. "Yes we will look into it." Never did, and if they did they didn't tell me. Strike 2. March 10th asked for a wake up call and reminded the front desk about the change in clocks "spring ahead". "You are all set sir, 6 am ." Never came through. Front desk explained that wake up calls had to be done manually that day and mine was the only one missed . Strike 3. Was told that one night of my stay would be free. Nope, charged for every night. Strike 4. Save your form letter appology, no need, just strike it out of your system. Nice hotel, great room if it wasn't so noisy. Travel for a living, but not back here. March 18, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Unhelpful Front Desk Staff My LaGrotto restaurant bill was $48 and I signed it to the room and added a cash tip of $10. My hotel bill indicated $63, I requested the clerk at the Front Counter to adjust it and she told me that I had to contact the restaurant myself. Issue has not been resolved March 12, 2013

The service was exceptional from friendly smiling staff to help in getting a hot cup of water to make tea late at night. The breakfast was incredible and in a beautiful setting. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bathroom When we got to the room, everything looked amazing. The real bad part was that when the toilet was used to urinate it was defective and overflowed. It took 30 minutes to get someone to come to the room to fix it. It took almost 45 minutes after that to get someone to come to clean up the mess. The good part about that disaster was that we were then moved into a different room. Great professional staff. Just a little disappointed about the bathroom and having to move. March 10, 2013

My room was ready and they let me check in early which I was grateful for. The breakfast buffet was so good and the wait staff kept my coffee cup full. The atmosphere was awesome and I love the waterfall which was peaceful for me. Thank you staff for a great weekend! March 9, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by underwhelmed Well, where do I start. The room we reserved was 2 QUEEN sized beds, we got doubles. They didn't want to take any money off the bill either. My friend had to push them and their response was "oh, well we ran out of rooms with queen beds." UMMMMMM ya, that's why we RESERVED a room with two queen beds!!!! That's kind of the point of having a reservation!!! So their compromise was to take the breakfasts off our bill. So that leads to the other HORRIBLE experience with this place-- the nasty food. The breakfast buffet was pretty bad. Especially for the 16.95 per person price!!!!!! I was in shock when they told us the price. We should have asked before eating. It was not much more than a continental breakfast either. Oh, it gets better....after most of the food was nearly inedible because it tasted bad or was hard (could not cut the little pancakes and the hash browns were rock hard, fruit was hard) I decided on just eating cold cereal. BAD move. I ended up getting a mouth full of spoiled milk :( When we told our server, she offer only 1/2 off my meal! I expected to be comped after that, but was happy to get anything back at that point. The conference meals (sit down dinners in the banquet hall) were pretty terrible. The Asian chicken salad thing was just gross. The other stuff was edible but not good by any means. I am not overly picky, and have eaten at many other conferences so I do acknowledge the sit down meals are usually not the best. But this was just bad. Needless to say I will likely not stay here again unless the conference is here next year. March 8, 2013

The room was huge with great features. The ood was incredible and readily available. The conference setting was ideal. The staff were veryrofessional, friendly and helpful. Fonally, the rates are very reasonable; iwill return. I recommend CP as a hotel! March 7, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff Bad Room Every staff member I encountered was wonderful from the bell staff to the front desk. The room condition needs a lot of help. The hair dryer was barely hanging from the wall ready to fall off, the safety latch was ready to fall off, the door was so loose I had to pull the door tight so the electronic lock would work. The vanity sink and shower drains did not work well and 3-4 inches of water backed up every time you took a shower. The staff overshadowed the condition of the room I would come back just because of the staff. The food quality in the Italian restaurant was very bush league and I would never go back there.
