Nice Hotel

Have stayed at this hotel a number of times and can recommend it. Friendly helpful staff, and good food in the restaurant. Rooms are above average for size and bathrooms clean and well set out. The location close to central Auckland theatres and shopping is also a bonus.

Just a few changes...

Overall a decent stay, but some issues. Turned up to reception in a hurry to check in to make a late afternoon meeting, checkin itself was quick but my room was xx31 which was almost ten minutes walk from the lift! Normally I'd be annoyed at this, but especially when in a rush.

Pricing on the breakfast was also not impressive, the same meal I ordered the day prior in Wellington via roomservice for NZD$9 was $34 at the Crown Plaza.

Finally I'm not keen on leaving checked bags in the open, my laptop etc was left in the foyer for 4-5 hours while I finished my meetings which had me uneasy.

Other than that, standards are obviously high at this hotel. Expectations are the same.

One Small Problem

while I really enjoy staying at the Crowne, there was one small (or rather Big) problem - there was not hot water or Air Con on the Thursday 20th Nov. I know it's not anyones fault here, but some kind of recognition would be nice - a cold shower and a really hot room isn't what a customer would expect.

other than that I will contiunue to stay at the Cronwe as the staff are great.

Although this type of occurrence is rare, we take them very personally and therefore do everything possible to prevent them in the first place. As a valued guest you deserve to know what happened. I will keep it simple. The major part which controls/ regulates the hot water and Air con system failed. Usually it goes off in stages which would trigger an alarm. However on this occasion it completely failed without any alarm. Our team acted swiftly and fixed the issue within 45mins. I completely understand those 45mins would have impacted our guests on different levels and we are sorry for this.
