I really enjoyed my stay here. The free shuttle service around Austin was a great bonus. Paul the shuttle driver did a wonderful job and was very cheery. Breakfast was excellent. Even though I arrived just a tad after lunch the staff was kind enough to let me slip in and have lunch too. I will definetly stay at this property again. I enjoyed the free drink too! All the staff did an excellent job. Thank you,

The outlet in the restroom were loose and it made it hard to use the blowdryer and styling irons..
Plus the hot water never warmed in the shower...
for the price of the room... these things should be automatic...

Kevin and Marquise were excellent at the front desk and the dining staff were terrific! Made me and my co-workers' stay for a conference a real joy, and we were left without needing anything that wasn't already provided from morning to night.

My bathrood shower should have been replaced. One solid stream of water, no spraying ability at all. Advised desk at check out, but this should have been caught by housekeeping.

The staff at this property went out of their way to assure that I and my group were taken care of. It's hard to complain when your annoyance is with them asking too many times "is everything satisfactory?"! Executive floor AND fresh cookies was a nice touch, too, for a Priority Club female travelling alone. thanks!

I have stayed at this location many times, due to its location and (primarily) because they still have Smoking rooms (no lectures , please).
This last visit, there were a few glitches regarding amenties and such. I didn't report them until check-out (or they probably would fixed on the spot).
In any event, I was very satisified with the adjustment made.
PLEASE don't go making complaints just to get an adjustment. You be fair and they'll be fair.
I'll stay again, for sure.

The lobby/ restaurant was very cold. I had requested a room away from elevator, but was given one close to elevator with a very loud/disturbing noise. I was planning to stay 4 nights, so I requested a room change after first night. The towel in second room was spotty with dark stains. I called the front desk to talk to manager on duty/front desk/ GM, none was available. I left my cell phone to be contacted, no one butter to call.

Poor to no internet service all week-end also the TV was working intermittenly. Spend 30 minutes with their technical service and the internet only worked about 15 minutes.

I have stayed in this hotel over 60 times during the last 2 years. The rooms are clean and in good condition and the hotel has made improvements over this time period such improved wifi and flat screen TVs with new consoles. The best feature of the hotel is the friendly and helpful staff. From the bellhops; the managers; check in staff; restaurant hostesses, cooks, and wait staff, and the ladies in the VIP loung, all were very helpful and professional. I was always greeted with a smile and after the first few trips often by name. I especially want to thank Tim and Sarissa for all of their asstance.

this hotel is an older hotel that really needs an update considering its title. The bathrooms are very very small and the rooms are just okay. The Tv service really needs to be improved from its limited choice of sports, pay movies and adult channels to channels more tuned to a wide array of travelers. A paint job to brighten up the rooms would not hurt as well as some febreze in the smoking rooms. Just because a guest is a smoker does not mean they want the room to smell like an old ashtray. the TV's could be mounted on the wall to make watching TV more enjoyable.

Any positive review is negated because you cannot manage a party held at you facility.
F1 international tourist were treated to kids running around in the lobby and elevations and floors of the hotel. Staff didnt seem to have an issue with it. Kids 5-10 years old running through the lobby and the check in is just unprofessional and rude. Your Staff especially night staff was very sub-standard.
International visitors were treated just like any other visitors without any welcome or special services. You had to ask and always with very little information.
Austin did not know how to me a world class venue, unsophisticated, very provincial and small town attitude.

Recently we have stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Key West in September 2012 and again in Austin in November 2012. Both times we had our rooms upgraded since we are a priority member. Our rooms were excellent. We were upgraded to a suite both times and had a very clean room and a great staff. I would recommend Crowne Plaza for every time you stay in a Hotel.........Make it your favorite home away from home. from Abilene, TX

The middle elevator didn't work for the length of my stay. This wouldn't have been an issue if this elevator wasn't the default elevator. The 4th floor button didn't work...even after the doorman attempted to make it work . It was obviously a known issue based on comments made by the doorman.
The bed was also very small. It was smaller than a queen size.
This hotel is centrally located and convenient to many locations in Austin.

Rooms are on the small side (its an older hotel right next to what used to be Austin's airport) but generally comfortable and location at 290 and 35 is good. If you know Austin you can easily avoid using 35 tho it can get you downtown fast (when its not clogged!). Beds could do with an upgrade, but I'm picky and have a bad back. Decent restaurant and bar with sensible prices. Friendly, helpful staff. Awkward entry from 290 exit westbound (watch out for fast traffic on inside lane) but Austin's road pattern is decidedly European and weird by US standards. Definitely a good value!

We went to Austin for a weekend getaway, it felt like we went home to family! The staff Kevin, Roy, Tim and Auggie were always happy to help us. We only booked two nights thinking we would go to San Antonio, but with all the great sites and music in Austin we decided to stay. The staff at Crowne Plaza worked overtime to help us get a room in their already booked hotel. We will be back to Austin and return to the same warm and friendly hotel

We liked the overall hotel. The housekeeping staff was incredibly fast delivering an extra blanket. The valets were courteous and helpful in helping us unload our tons of wedding stuff. They were just as helpful when we left.
However, it was the contract for the block of rooms that presented the problem. Guests did not receive their breakfast vouchers even though I took the signed contract down to the front desk. It was supposed to be taken care of and yet the very next morning at least one of our guests didn't receive breakfast vouchers.
There are probably other hotels in Austin who offer the same value and will actually honor their contracts.

I entered into a contract with the Crowne Plaza Austin for a wedding, reserving a block of rooms at a specified price which would include a voucher for the breakfast buffet. When I checked into the hotel, I wasn't given a voucher. Had to take my contract down to the front desk, and was still given a 'line' like 'okay, we'll give this voucher to you, but ....' I found out later that other guests who booked under the wedding block didn't get their breakfast vouchers either. The hotel itself was fine, honoring their contractual agreements without hassle to the guest - not good.

Having stayed in several Crowne Plaza both in the US and abroad. I have to say that even though the customer service was above par, the property and rooms did not feel like a Crowne Plaza.
Apart from being one of the smallest bathrooms (even smaller than ones in NY), the door was old and chipped on the sides.
The sink was cracked and gave an appearance of uncleanliness.
Found hair and spots on the bathroom floor.
Overall clean, but felt damp.

I stay at the Crowne Plaza when ever I am in Austin on business. It is a great location for what I need to do and close to several great places to eat. It is very clean and well kept. The staff is outstanding. I always look forward to going back because I know it will be a pleasent stay.
