The hotel was fantastic,Overall this is an excellent hotel. it's got everything you need and want. and one thing that I like that is really lacking in many chinese hotels. Soft beds. I will definitely stay there again. Good location, too.

The hotel locate in down town, Wangfujing, lots of choices for restaurants. I like the piano in the lobby bar, can enjoy the music and beer from 7pm-9pm. All the hotel colleagues are very friendly, let you feel like at home.

Good hotel to stay. It is within walking distance to shopping areas and also very near to Tiananmen/Forbidden city. Service is also good especially the club floor service.

As usual in the other stays over the last 10 years in the hotel, it is a warm, comfort, and user-friendly experience. It is not an easy thing with the high attrition rate and so many new staffs, great job and with my appreciations.

I stayed in Beijing so many times before.
But my staying in Beijing was for only business trip even this time.
Because this trip is not so tight I decided to stay near by Wangfujing.
Staying Crowne Plaza in Wangfujing makes me so exiting.
Because Wangfujing is the center of China.
From Crowne Plaze in Wangfujing to the place where I want to visit was so convenience.
Room size was a little small but other than is great.
Next trip in Beijing I will stay this Crowne Plaza in Wangfujing.

We stayed on the club floor and received very good service from the hostesses there. They serve high quality drinks and the hot appetizers were appreciated at the end of the day. Breakfast in the lounge was excellent and overall quality was better than other club floor lounges we have used. The furniture is looking a little tired but it is comfortable and clean. The concierge helped us with dinner reservations and arranging tours. They also have a hotel car that will pick you up at the airport (for a fee of course) and I wish we knew about that before we went.
It is in a great location just a short walk to several attractions although it is further from than the Forbidden City than it looks (but still an OK walk).

Didn't provide aircon/heating, and can't change room temperature. I got serious sick after first night. Glad that one of the engineers brought me a portable heater. But still, can't image that heating is not provided while the temperature is still low.

I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza Wangfujing many times on business trips to Beijing. The staff always recognizes me, and I feel like I am at home "away from home". The location is also excellent.
The staff volunteers as much help as possible, and has always responded to my requests in an unbelievably through and very quick manner. They always go above and beyond to make sure everything happens.
The value of this hotel is outstanding, and is the only hotel in which I now will stay in Beijing. I have stayed at many 5 Star Hotels in Asia, none has ever reached the service level of this hotel.
The room rates are very reasonable, and every stay has been very
pleasant.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights following a 38 day cruise from Auckland to Beijing. We booked this hotel (room with breakfast) eight months before arrival and everything was as expected. The room was large with a very nice glass desk for your computer etc. The large bed was nice with a choice of pillows and the bathroom was nice with good amenities. A robe and slippers were a nice touch as is the in-room safe. The location is great: near shops, high-end stores, a good grocery store steps away and for the yanks plenty of familiar fast food places nearby. I would rate this hotel excellent except for three things: 1. Internet is $20 per day. 2. Room lighting is poor. 3. The dinner food quality was poor. This is a great bargain if breakfast is included.

I stayed in this hotel before and always was a good experience till my last visit. I got it and at check in they were telling me that they offered a full set of amenities, they gave me a list, that they can give me at 50% discount because I am a platinum priority member. With the 50% off, still was about 35USD more very day for things that in another hotels you get for free when you are a member. I did not understand it.
Then at night time I asked for room service and after I ordered I was told it will be about 25 minutes. The time was passing by and after 50 minutes I called the extension and they did not know what was going on, they were asking me what did I ordered, so when they find out what is was, they told me the famous "oh sorry, sorry" we will be there in 10 minutes. So after another 25 minutes when I was ready to call and cancel, I heard a knock in my door, the food was finally there. Of course was a wasted meal because by that time I was extremely upset about the whole situation. Then when I checked the tray, the sodas I ordered where not there, so I called the waiter, he was by the elevator and I asked him, what happened, and he goes oh I forgot. Terrible.

It's a very old Crown Plaza with rather small receiption, a bit old facility. Even the logo outside the wall is fading so muchThe staff in the frontdesk is kind and warm, much better than my previous lodging experience 2 years ago. .....In general, the staying is OK, but really no compared with Crown Plaza standard.

The concierge and his staff were extremely helpful. They made arrangements for tours prior to our visit. They also helped us get around by cab. We suggest dining in the Angus Grill. It was really a great meal and most enjoyable. The Food and Beverage manager must never sleep because we saw him everywhere making sure everything was perfect.

Hotel has very nice location for easy access to metro and all major sight seeing points in downtown Beijing. And service is as good as price. Of course the hotel building is quite old, the swimming pool is quite tiny and fit for child. And Club louge is also provide good service as usual.
The only outstanding issue, the doorman is difficult to find once my taxi arrive at hotel gate. Their is nobody here to recogonize customer arrive and take all luggage for me. And the check in desk has clear set priority club check in area , but seems everybody is busy and nobody stay at there to handle checkin for priority club member.
General spearking, this is hotel provide regular service as other.

Conveniently located about 20 min. walk from the Forbidden Palace, and 10 min. walk from the Oriental Plaza subway stop.
There are great massage parlors 5 min. walk away, and also at least 3 shopping malls which include most well-known brands and restaurants that cater to foreign visitors.
Plus, the Apple Store is located less than 3 min. walk away!
The hotel staff was very helpful in regards to directions and drink service.
They have a piano in the lobby that needs to be tuned, but for the most part sounds lovely and they hire a pianist to play in the evening until about 9:30pm. It's really nice because you can hear the piano playing in your room (and the music is very atmospheric, almost cinematic).
My only wish was that the staff working the fitness center on the top floor would increase the heat of the hot tub upon request. The water wasn't hot enough for my taste (I like it at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit) and the jets weren't very strong. My compromise was to swim in the pool, then head into the sauna.
Finally, the decor of the lobby and the room made coming home after a long days traveling wonderful.

I do not know what is all the fuzz about the hotel being outdated and old. Like seriously, you people need to go out more often and stay in different hotels. Of course, comparing Crowne Plaza Wangfujing with a super brand new hotels is irrational. Please, this hotel is better than average!
The hotel is located right in the middle of Beijing. It is very convinient. The hotel is a walking distance from everything which includes a convinient store, mall, and subway trains.
The staff are great! Salinee who was working on the front desk at the time of my check-in made sure that my family are all well taken care of. She have shown such hospitality that other hotels do not have. She should be promoted to a Managing Director of Crowne Plaza Wangfujing. You guys are very lucky to have her on your team!
To the people who is reading this review, stay in this hotel! Why stay in an over priced hotel when you can pay less for a better price, location, and people!

The staff are excellent, helpful, and well trained. They have the most comfortable beds I have slept on in China so far. The room was clean and fairly modern. No free wireless access though. Good sauna. The dining is a little on the expensive side and the service could be better down there.

A connection out of Singapore transiting through Beijing left me with about 6 hours between flights. Decided to check-in here (heard airport transit was very smokey, so I avoided it). Jumped into a Taxi, about 5-10 minutes from the airport, all very painless. Driver spoke enough English to understand the destination but as it turns out, there are two Crowne Plaza's and I ended up in the wrong one. None the less, staff checked me in at 2:00am, all very polite and professional. Room standard as you would expect for CP. Didn't get a chance to sample breakfast, but my short experience was as good as it could be for such a short layover. (Shuttle back to airport runs every 15 minutes 24 hours, hard to beat that...)
