As usual, the staff looked after me very well.
Only issues were no large towels in the room on the first night - managed with the two small ones.
There was a problem with the draft beer system on my second night so no Guinness, which is usually excellent, had a bottle of Newcastle Brown instead!

Booked a concert package. Restaurant food very poor quality.Had to wait for plates to arrive which had obviously just been washed and were still wet and stone cold.Complained to staff who apologised but that just seemed like the stock answer.Buffet breakfast much better.Room seemed "tatty".-Air condition control hanging off the wall.All the group we were with agreed they would not stay there again.

I was staggered to be told this is a 4 star hotel. The bed linen was stained and holey. The bed cover had recent disgusting stains on (like dried hot chocolate...), The room was cold. The staff took 45 minutes to bring me a heater. The A/C "pinged" like an alarm every few seconds all through the night. The light in the wardrobe wouldn't turn off, regardless of what I did. In the restaurant, the staff could not describe what was in the food on the menu, and the soup I ordered was so salty it tasted like it was made from seawater. In the morning I was told that my booking did not include breakfast, in a loud voice in front of other guests, despite this not being the case. They were looking to charge a fortune for wifi, despite it being free at the Holiday Inn Express (same hotel chain) the night before. SHOCKING.
In their defence, the staff at reception were very surprised and very apologetic when i checked out, and gave me my room for free, despite my insistence that they charge me. However I work on a "once bitten, twice shy" policy with hotels, and I will never choose to stay there again.

Crowne plaza is an attractive and clean hotel.
Reception failed to order a taxi or the newspaper we had requested.
Reception repeatedly quoted £20 as the fare to the city centre which was £30.
Reception were unhelpful when they insisted a movie package had not been cancelled before use and fairly unbelieving, R and his manager on Sunday 9th dec.

Excellent location if you are going to the NEC, LG Arena. Had no problems parking and the walk to the arena took about 4 minutes. It was great to walk back to the hotel and have a relaxing drink in the bar after our concert. Room service food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Fantastic choice for breakfast - didnt know where to start!
One small point to mention we were charged an extra £10 for parking on check out. Whilst not too expensive for the convenience (it costs £8 at the standard arena car park, and the Ibis charge £16), it would of been nice to have been pre-warned!
All in all, an excellent hotel to stay at.

We stayed here in early December because we had been to see a gig at the NEC, and wanted to :-
a) treat ourselves
b) take advantage of an overnight babysitter, and get a lie in
c) avoid the awful post gig queue to get out of the car park
It was lovely. The Hotel is large and could be a bit anonymous but all staff were very accommodating. Key examples were, for example rushing our food so we could get to the gig in time, and going to great lengths to find and get us our Saturday Morning Newspaper. Another guest had clearly pinched ours so someone went out to get us another, and deliver it to our breakfast table.
Its those details that really matter.

The experience of collection for the Airport was poor and took the edge of what was otherwise very efficient. We phoned and waited for 25 minutes before phoning hotel again. Three times we had no reply at all before the line cut off.
The next time we got through OK and heard that a taxi was on its way. It had been sent to the rail station not airport. Eventually we got to the hotel to collect our car but there was confusion over who was to pay. Late in the day after a long flight and a cold wait was very unsatisfactory.
I would expect some reassurance before using that service again

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all very accommodating and pleasant.
The room was very comfortable and we liked the little extras like the relaxing spray for the pillows!
Our evening meal and our breakfast were both very good.
Best of all we felt really 'at home' here and would certainly return.

This hotel was great value for money, nice room, good service, good breakfast. Extremely convenient for the NEC which is a short walk away. It was on let down by the noisy aircon in the room which we couldn't switch off completely.

I was very impressed with the hotel service, comfort and stay, however, 1 day after my return I have suffered with a terrible bout of food poisoning. I ate an evening meal in be hotel and breakfast the following morning.
I am hoping tat this is just a massive coincidence and I would stay here again.

Overall very positive. Efficient and fast check in as well as check out, staff look as if they enjoy working at the hotel, which in turn means that the service is positive, timely and effective. The restaurant was tidy, if a bit characterless. The food was well prepared with good flavour and presentation. We had dinner the following evening in the cafe/bar and we felt the choice for a 'restaurant on the run' was a bit stodgy, but again the flavours were good and enjoyable. The room was neat, tidy and well maintained (window lock was not as good as it should have been, allowing modest external noise into the room). Bathroom was tidy, and clean. Areas outside of hotel were well kept and the landscaping complimented the hotel. Car parks were tidy and well lit, with secure control.

I have to say the room we originaly check into was very dirty (cleaning staff did not do a good job), we asked to be moved and we were given another room and it was alot cleaner, we were to receive an upgrade but that did not happen. But I will say that the staff in the resturant and the front desk was very good, especially the resturant,

Really relaxing evening before our early morning flight and only a few minutes to Airport. Had superb eveming meal in restuarant and a very good night's sleep in a lovely spacious quiet room. All the staff most helpful, look forward to staying again.

According to the paperwork, you can check in from 1400hrs. We arrived at 1405hrs and was informed that our rooms were not ready, we therefore had a drink in the bar. Went back at 1435hrs and was informed again that the rooms were not ready, we were requested to wait in the bar area and as soon as the rooms were ready, they would call our name out on the tannoy. At 1500hrs, we still had not heard anything, at this point the queue at the receptiion was back to the doors, we therefore joined the queue and eventually got to the front at 1520hrs. It should be noted at this point, we heard a man, who we thought was the manager behind the reception, tell another person who was still waiting for their room that he did not not consider the queue to be a queue! However, we were informed again that that our rooms were not ready. At this point, we started to get a bit agitated although we understood that it was not the receiption's fault. She did however, go and physically check the rooms and they were ready so we finally got checked in about 1540hrs. The excuse we were given was that the hotel had been full the night before and was again that night, but surely a large company like yours were well aware of your bookings and would bring in extra staff when required.. A nice hotel but let down by the checking in.

Check in 2pm was closer to 3pm! The waiter in bar when we ordered drinks and lunch was friendly efficient and helpful. Reception could learn from him. Charming Irishman at dinner was also pleasant and helpful . However, not everyone wants a choice of curry and spicy food and our wine was not chilled. Frankly I would'nt book again. I feel you get away with poor quality due to your close proximity to nec lg arena.

The hotel itself is what you expect from the Crowne Plaza name.
The staff however, are above and beyond. I don't normally write reviews but they earned it.
I will stay here any time its close to my destination and will recommend it to others.

We stayed in this hotel for our trip to Birmingham for the Killers concert - 2 adults and a teenager! This was a great choice given the close proximity - so lovely to have a five minute walk after the concert! Breakfast had a good choice of hot and cold food. We ate in the hotel on the night of the concert - very busy and expensive but tasty food. We had to order extra towels - there were three of us in the room and had to ask both days for one each. Unfortunately this is a common problem in hotels. However staff were very prompt and delivered them to the room almost immediately. The room would have needed a dusting and cups and spoons needed rinsing before use!!
The courtesy bus to and from the railway station was great and thanks to the driver (Tommy, I think!!) for his efficiency!.

This will be the third time we have stayed at the NEC Crowne Plaza and every time we had a fire alarm incident each thankfully a false
alarm. Apart from this the hotel is great ,comfortable and staff are on the whole extremely pleasant . The food was great along with the restaurant staff.

We stayed after attending the recent Killers concert at the LG Arena. The hotel is very convenient for the venue and is only a 5 minute walk away. I would definitely stay there again when attending a concert in the future. As we booked more than three weeks in advance we also got an excellent room rate, which included breakfast. The room itself was comfortable enough and pretty much what you expect from a hotel of this type. Quality of food was also good and the bar meal we had was reasonable value for money if perhaps a little expensive. The bar area has a reasonable amount of seating, but insufficient really to cope with peak demand when all the concert goers returned and descended wanting drinks. The bar staff were overwhelmed for a while as well.
The following day we went into Birmingham. Access is good with a 10 minute walk through the NEC to Birmingham International Station and then only a short journey to New Street. We left our car at the hotel for the day at no extra charge, so parking only cost us marginally more than it would have done just to park at the NEC for the concert in the evening only.

I would NOT recommend the twin double room.The beds were uncomfortable,it was expensive (considering the state of the room),there was mould in the bathroom,peeling paper,thick dust on the carpet down the side of the bed.(It hadn't been hoovered for MONTHS!!),large black pen marks on the wallpaper,dust on all the surfaces,there were stains on the curtains,the breakfast was non existent and the complimentary refreshments were sparse.

I spent two weeks staying at the Crown Plaza NEC and I found it altogehter enjoyable. I thought the breakfast was excellent - lovely fresh fruit, good English warm food, selection of breads and continental cold meats and cheese.
The restaurant and bar food was excellent and the staff were friendly and attentive. The piped music in the bar was a good selection and I enjoyed sitting and reading while I ate, drank and relaxed of an evening after a long day. I can see that it may get rather busy when there is a big event on at the NEC.

The heating in my room, was a small fan heater which was of poor quality. There were cobwebs in my room which being a 4* hotel I would expect better. The tv Although having a guide was still difficult to use and was slow. The tv had not many channels less channels which you are provided with on a free box digital box. I was lacking in a hand towel therefore had to use a bath towel. On the basis of a double room, you would expect mainly couples to be staying in this room - only 1 bath robe was provided!
