Comfortable bed and great staff

This is an ideal hotel for a business stay. The bed is comfy, soft towels and blackout curtains that work. The dressing table with hair dryer is well lit and with a good mirror - plus a good full length mirror.

The aromatherapy sprays left on my bed were a nice touch.

My only gripes were that the air con was hit

Mixed Experience, poor night's sleep

Thought we'd give this hotel another try despite a poor experience 16 months earlier. This time we were only breaking a car journey, at least we didn't have a flight to catch.

Great welcome at check in, looked after well there, and good servicelater in the bar for food and drink, which wasn't bad value either.
But very little sleep due to very uncomfortable bed, room very hot - a/c wouldn't cool, and window could only be shut or wide open (and it had been snowing outside). Eventually opened it wide despite this.
And a lot of machinery noise in the hotel all night.
Didn't complain at the time as didn't want to move in the night or disturb one child who was asleep.
Very short staffed in the morning, both in breakfast and at reception where queue to check out .
Attempted to mention poor night's sleep, expecting the same attentive response as evening staff, but was met with dismissive atititude. Felt a bit sorry for receptionist and queue behind me, and it was Christmas, so didn't press it further (although next in line said he'd been disturbed too)

But won't be back to this hotel. Which is a shame as location is handy.

(Stayed in this hotel in 2013 night before a flight, and was late to airport due to hotel 'shuttle' being replaced by a taxi which was, late & not big enough for our party, and then waiting over half an hour for this to be resolved.)
