En general es un buen hotel -no es económico-, pero, es un ambiente tranquilo con muchas cosas a la mano y en un punto estratégico de Bogotá, D.C.

Me encanta Bogotá y la estancia fue muy placentera. Solo creo que en el Bar deberían tener un servicio de snacks ya que pedí al room service, llegó tarde y como mal provisto.

Fue una experiencia Maravillosa, el hotel cuenta con todo lo que se requiere para pasar una excelente estadía. el personal es muy atento y amable, cuentan con una excelente carta de comidas en los diferentes restaurantes que tiene, van desde comida italiana, comida internacional y comida típica colombiana, tiene servicio de piscina y spa, todo para pasar una estadía inolvidable, un verdadero hotel 5 estrellas!

I have had several times at this hotel and the I never have problems with the internet connections, but this time I wasn't able to work appropriately for internet problems. I was assigned to room 1146 (GREAT ROOM) but the internet connections is terrible.

This is a cool historic hotel. We stayed at the hotel Tequendama March 6, 2014 in room 1042, they made an error first giving me a room, 657, that already had a guest in it and we woke them up at 1am, very odd never happened to me before. The room was fine, small, but the internet never worked it never showed the internet for the hotel although they gave me a card with password, maybe the 10th floors internet is not working, please be advised to fix, too your food is not very good, neither the breakfast nor dinner were very good sorry to report. We stayed at a hotel in Santa Marta for a few days before being stranded in Bogota and the food at that hotel was so much better. We had a nice view in our 10th floor room though in Tequendama and many nice things there in the hotel, it was neat to see all the famous people have come and stayed in this hotel, like JFK, in Bogota Colombia, they just need to fix the internet, improve the food, and be careful not to assign a room which is already assigned to someone, it was very odd experience for us so late at night. I like the hotel, just some issues.

El nivel de atención en recepción, gerencia, etc., pésimo.
Nunca imaginé que podía encontrarme con una atención tan mala en un hotel de la cadena IHG.
Habitualmente soy huésped del Intercontinental y Holiday Inn, pero siempre fue excelente. Nunca imaginé tener una experiencia tan desagradable.
La atención en el Club Rewards del piso 17, Excelente, parece que perteneciera a otro de los hoteles del grupo.

Nice property to stay close to the tourist spots in town. Very clean and safe.
Staff is not knowledgeable around the area. 2 examples.
1. Ask to arrange a yellow taxi to zona rosa. Rate quotes was 11$ USD. However the meter rate is 8-9 USD. I was not told about 10% hotel surcharge on top of it which appeared on check out. All the hotels in the world arrange or call yellow cab for you and insist you pay the meter charges. Also there were no yellow cabs allowed in front of the hotel.
2. Asked for the where I can exchange my Amex TCs or USD to pesos. I was sent to a Bank of Colombia location via a hotel taxi by concierge. That location does not exchange Amex TCs. Also does not exchange USD.
There are couple of locations behind the hotel shopping complex, at the entrance next to travel agency , or on the side entrance that does the exchange.
keep a concierge that speak bit of English and is familiar with these basic travel information. I found the bell boys more helpful than other staff and convey little bit in English.

I've recommended this hotel in the past but after my last stay - with colleagues from my work it just gets increasingly difficult. Arrived just after 11 pm. Called room service. No answer. Called the operator. No answer. Called the Front Desk. No answer.
The wifi in earlier stays seems to get better. I've seen others describe it as patchy. That's kind. It's frankly useless.
We're planning a project in the area - with the likelihood of several hundreds of night of bookings over two years. I asked if I could take one of my colleagues to breakfast on the lounge floor (I'm an ICH Club member# to at least try and warm him to the property. That couldn't be done without Management approval or me paying a fee #we're talking coffee and some eggs.
I've stayed at this hotel many, many times in the past but they are totally losing the plot.

The room was clean. The staff at the restaurant were kind.
On the contrary, the staff in the lobby was incompetent, except two of them. They could not speak English (this hotel is said to be an international hotel !), they could not understand basic requests and wanted us to pay what we did not have to.
The hotel was noisy (no double glazing in the room ; people shouting : there was a competition at the same time with a lot of people....).
We will choose another hotel next time and are just wondering if all the hotel of IHG have the same standard of quality or if problems are only focus on this hotel.

I spent a week here to attend a regional conference. The hotel is well maintained although from the point of view of the decor definitely needs to be upgraded as it felt like a hotel in the seventies. it was clean and service was excellent everywhere. the el vinney waiting staff seemed a little overworked sometimes and we experienced a delay in service once or twice in the restaurant.
the worst thing was the patchy internet service which in 2013 was completely unacceptable - all other guests in my group had similar complaint - it was awful.
i still had a great stay here - it was comfy good a/c tv beds etc and in a great relatively safe location in the centre of bogotá - staff were all extremely helpful friendly and courteous.

I've stayed in this hotel twice and I had to remind myself that customer service is not the same as it is in the US when you are in South America.
I am pretty happy with the hotel. The interior is pretty 80es, not fancy or modern at all, but clean and pretty well kept.
My only issue was with the room service staff, who kept calling the room and coming back (3 times) and knocking on the door (despite the hour and the do not disturb sign on the door) to solve an issue with room service billing. I was there on a business trip and the company paid for my meals in advance. When I checked in I asked if I could dine in the room and they said yes. So I did. First time all good. Second night they suddenly said included meals were only at restaurant and didn't include room service. I pointed out that the night before nobody said anything and that when I checked in I was told room service was fine. They wouldn't accept that answer and wanted to charge me. It took 3 visits of the waiter (who didn't speak ANY english at all) and 2 phone calls downstairs. I kept telling them it was their problem if their staff had misinformed me but they kept insisting.

THE ROOM AND THE BED WAS VERY NICE, WHAT A SHAME THAT I COULDN'T SLEEP PROPERLY BECAUSE I COULD HEAR EVERYTHING FROM THE NEXT ROOM UNTIL THE EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING.
THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TOILET, IT DOESN'T FLASH PROPERLY AND YOU HAVE TO TRY A LEAST 3 TIMES.
THE LAS TIME I WAS THERE THE BUTTONS USED TO COME OUT AND HELP YOU WITH THE LUGGAGE

There is too much noise. Must change room windows to those anti noise one. Even though we woke up on Sunday is really too noisy.
Attention at El Virrey Cafeteria, just one employee cooking the eggs and 3,4 people awating.
The room didn´t have the coffee set (coffee, sugar, cream, etc) when we arrived. Had to call for it.

I was in Bogota in a business trip for 2 days last week. I choose this Hotel because of location, however, one of my colombian customers told me that this hotel used to belong to the Army and/or government. Hotel was crowded by teenagers from all over Clombia who where in Bogota for some provincial tournament hosted by the government. kids were OK when an adult teacher or guide was around, otherwise they were very noisy. The first night was almost impossible to sleep the second night I was too tired t find out. Staff was very friendly and helpful, but I will not go back to this hotel next time since I prefer a plece much more quiet.

I like this hotel for its comfortable rooms, classy ambient, helpful personnel and security arrangements. I am very fond as well of its health club, with a good arrangement of well maintained fitness equipment.
Something to improve though is the bandwidth of the Internet which cannot be used, for example, for Skype communications.

I have had my worst check in situation at the Hotel Tequendama, with a very poor attention with only one nervous professional at the desk with who I have complained about it, because I have just asked him for late check out and he just mentioned will be charged, although his trainee has tried to give me more attention.
Maybe I wont stay there anymore.
