Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not for me--ever again Reader--Be aware that this is the censored version of my original post. Be VERY careful if you are silly enough to reserve a room at this hotel. There are charges associated with your stay that are not made apparent to you at the time of booking. The only reason this place got one star is because I couldn't go minus. That's all I can say---I hear the thought police coming. May 19, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Shuttle Van is too slow! They share a shuttle with other hotels that only comes around every half hour - and standing out in the cold on the curb for 30 minutes at SFO is very uncomfortable - we took a taxi finally which added to the cost of the stay so we may has well have used a more expensive hotel with better shuttle service. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel to stay at for Diva Half Staff was excellent. Front desk/receptionist William really took care of us. We were upgraded to the executive floor (10th floor) and were given recommendations on places to eat and visit around the area. My brother dropped by to visit us during our stay with his bike and the staff made special arrangements to secure the bike while he hung out with us at the pool. Will definitely stay here again at next year's diva race. Again, thanks William for the exceptional service! May 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel Our stay was fantastic. Room was clean and the service was amazing. The included breakfast and parking in the executive package we bought was a great deal. If you are looking for a hotel with an impressive lobby and great shops in the hotel, this is not it. But if you are are looking for a hotel with clean, well decorated rooms and great customer service, this is it. We would highly recommend the hotel and would stay again when we are in San Francisco. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fitness center well equipped and in good working order Excellent fitness center- manager checked each morning to make sure everything worked ok, which they often don't at some hotels. Beds/pillows very comfortable May 13, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rooms are way to loud I would never stay again Great location. easy to get on and office but the rooms are way to loud I would never stay again. Even the rooms from the freeway are so loud with 101 being there. Plus I think its a joke they charge $20 for parking when they are so far away from the airport. Until they double pane or fix the windows, look else where. May 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic room for the price Fantastic room for the price! It was nice and close to the airport May 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wifi Wifi speed is too slow, and the bar close at 11 pm is a bit earlier. May 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another great stay in SFO I recently had my 2nd stay at the Crowne Plaza in SFO. It is a well run, high end hotel. The staff were amazing and attentive and made sure that all my needs were met. I highly recommend this hotel if in the SFO airport area. The lemon and strawberry waters in the reception area are a very nice welcome to the hotel. May 9, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by nice staff, but awful place to stay unwelcoming swimming pool: humid, very strong chlorine smell throughout guest room needs updating: peeling wallpaper, dust and hair on telephone, no HD television, bathroom needs serious makeover, weak/poor signal of wifi cannot recommend for families to stay. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall Pleasant & Memorable My experience at this Crown Plaza was overall very pleasant. The staff, especially Cassie, William, and the doorman, was very intent on providing a memorable experience for guests. It is my opinion that the staff members did their jobs well, and moreover performing their duties above and beyond. The value (living space/accommodation) was average, and I think the Executive King could use some upgrades, especially since that room was touted as an upgrade for the Ambassador Gold status. For instance, more square footage and a larger bathroom (or tub) might be reasonable upgrades, which would add value to the rooms in the Executive Category. Otherwise, the hotel’s location is convenient—not far from SFO and not far from downtown San Francisco either. The nearby interstate (101) leads straight to downtown within 20/30 minutes depending on traffic. Or, you could take the hotel shuttle back to the airport and board train (at the BART Station) that also takes downtown. Most hotels catering to business travelers tend to offer enough square footage in a room for a sleeping area as well as a comfortable working space/living area. My room did not offer that. Given I was there for five (5) nights, I was frankly disappointed not to have had that level of comfort, especially in a purportedly “upgraded” room. That said, the superior service provided by the front desk staff, especially those people highlighted above, and by the breakfast crew mitigated any feeling of disappointment stemming from the accommodation value (or the lack thereof). Breakfast was phenomenal featuring various healthy assortments and fresh fruits, and the restaurant crew was exceptional. I will definitely stay there again when I go back to San Francisco. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable Although the room with king size bed was not as large as most it was stylish and comfortable. Bed was wonderful. Very large bathroom with lots of counter space. May 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent place to stay near the airport Great place, newly remodeled rooms convenient to airport and highway… right on the water.. great walking path. Worth a spook at! April 25, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by THE NOISIEST ROOM The rooms facing the freeway, like the one I had was extremely noisy, making it very hard to sleep. The windows are not double pained, very old and let in ALL NOISES FROM THE OUTSIDE. Based on that alone, I would not recommend a stay here. April 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service Great service. Gen manager Brendan went out of way to help us during distress time because of american airline cancellation. April 23, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I don't stay this hotel any more 1. During the stay very bad experiences. - Every night I have to call front desk to get laundry bag and breakfast room service order sheet. No refills every day. - room air conditioning equipment was very bad control, too hot or too cold, no comfortable setting cannot be done. 2. When checking out: - Since I ate breakfast, I need to get new receipt at the front desk. She gave me one sheet. After I come back home in Japan, I found she only gave me the 1st page of the receipt not entire pages. 3. After checking out. - I noticed that I couldn't get the second page of the receipt when checking out, I called front desk to send the 2nd page of the receipt. he said he cannot send by e-mail, but only fax. I gave my fax number in japan with country code, but I never received the fax yet. So I gave up to call the front desk again. Very bad experiences of services in this hotel. i used to stay at Holiday Inn, but this is the worst Holiday Inn hotel. April 21, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy Room Very noisy room and the ac sound like a broken generator machine in the room. Location is great near by the freeway and the staff are very friendly. April 15, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed I plan 3 weekends a year during the winter months to take my young family to SF bay area hotels with indoor swimming pools and normally spend 1 of these weekends at the Crowne Plaza in Burlingame. On my last stay in March 2013 (3 nights), I received the worst service and have decided to no longer book this hotel. Besides not having the room that I booked, I was given a "free upgrade", a suite on the 1st floor that turned out to be a room that seemed like it was wheelchair accessible with an uncomfortable sofabed for my children. In addition to the room, the noise from Hwy 101 and from the convention activities on the 1st floor did not help. But the final straw was the room service, or the lack of room service. No morning paper, no room service, no garbage pickup, etc. I had to get towels from the indoor swimming pool area. I was very pleasant when I made personal visits to the front office to complain, but I guess I was not aggressive enough. My requests for room service were unanswered and when asked to change rooms, there were none available. Bottomline...good luck! April 12, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great service, horrible rollaway! bed. Traveling with my parents we had 3 people in a room. The suite was nice. The sofa bed and rollaway were Very uncomfortable. I ended up on the sofa "as a sofa". Yummy Breakfast. April 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, Clean Room Service was excellent, very friendly and prompt. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. April 10, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible experience I reserved the AAA rate for an executive room...which was to include a complementary drink, breakfast and free wifi. When we checked in, the woman at the desk was all business, there was nothing friendly about her at all...unlike the woman next to her checking in another couple. I asked if we had an "executive room" and she said yes, but unlike the other woman at the desk, she never mentioned anything about breakfast or drink coupons. After we got to our room and settled in, we went up to the executive lounge hoping we could find more information there, which unfortunately we did not so we headed back to the front desk. The same woman that checked us in told us that breakfast was not included in our room because we had the AAA rate. After several exchanges, I asked her what my benefit was in paying extra for an "executive" room versus a regular room...she stated the "higher" floor. Completely frustrated, we headed back up to our room. About 10 minutes later, she called from the front desk and said her manager gave her permission to send us some breakfast coupons. I didn't bother to ask about the drink coupons since at this point it was already close to 11pm. We never did benefit from the WiFi either, as we were never able to get connected. Besides the horrible customer service we received, the highway noise at this hotel was equally terrible. I'm sure there are probably quieter rooms...but the highway was literally right outside our window. Could probably get past the highway noise, but the poor customer service will prevent me from staying at this hotel or recommending it to anyone else. April 9, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Business Hotel with Potential Stayed recently at this hotel for business. The location is great. Very close to the airport and right off the highway -- although the on-/offramps from freeway from/to hotel are really convoluted and you will need a GPS just for that purpose. On the positive side, room was comfortable, although it would help to have additional power outlets for chargers, etc. And as other folks have pointed out, the room can be quite noisy due to proximity to highway. From a staff point of view, the hotel could do better with front-desk service. The lady running the gift shop is perhaps the rudest person I have ever met. Since my luggage didn't arrive on time, I needed to buy a toothpaste, toothbrush and razor and paid over $15 for smallest and poorest quality items. Most other hotels would provide you these items free of charge, but not this one. Breakfast in the morning is ok but the menu never seems to change. Finally, I think the $18/day parking charge is a bit excessive given the hotel quality. April 9, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Stay Evaluation for one night I"ve been a couple of times at Crowne Plaza and i have had a marvelous experience on those two occasions. But I'm so disappointed to say that it was not the case for the third time I visited and stayed at Crowned Plaza. There were so much discomfort in the way things turned out. For example, when making reservations before hand over the phone, the operator told me there was a free breakfast available the following morning. After a long night, I was looking forward to a nice free continental breakfast and at the desk they told me it was not included with my stay. The pick up at the airport shuttle was so long. They say it runs at certain times on the hour. Not true. I waited for 55 minutes to get picked up in the cold, very late at night weather. Make a few phone calls to the hotel and noone answered at the front desk. Made a phone call to the 1877 number and told me they could not help me, that I should call the hotel for pick up. It was so frustrating. I am so disappointed. April 8, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor conditions on Hotel room We stay for 3 nights and I need to say the condition in this room need to upgrade. I stay on nine floor and I still hear a noise from the freeway and when the door close it will slam and make a loud noise. When I walking into the room and i also find out some trash left in the drew and I need to ask house keeping to remove it. April 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay near the airport I loved staying at this hotel. Easy to/from SFO and a very comfortable room. When I tried to print my boarding pass and the printer was out of paper, a staff member came promptly with a new supply. Also, the dining room was very good for hotel dining. Didn't notice too much noise from the airport. Will definitely stay here again! April 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel for an early morning flight My wife & I booked into Crowne Plaza due to its proximity to the SF International airport & the fact that we had an early morning flight to Boston. It also offered free shuttle service to the airport. It has a breakfast service which is hard to beat. Overall, great value for money & for the convenience. March 30, 2013
