Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Service with a smile The noticeable trend throughout our stay was the quality of friendly service we enjoyed during our stay, from check-in through, room service to the excellent breakfast, where nothing was too much trouble. plates cleared, coffee on demand. The bar man at Binara 1 on Christmas Eve was outstanding and a credit to your organisation. Finally check out was good, an excellent trainee supported by duty manager. December 28, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Accomodation for Canberra Ironman This was the second year we stayed at this hotel for the Canberra Ironman 70.3 event. It is also the second year that the room we were allocated was just above the outside bar area. This is far from ideal when you are going to be in bed early on Saturday night, the night before the race which is a 4:45am start. Trying to sleep while people are rightfully enjoying themselves on a Saturday night out just below your window is not great. Given the hotel is a sponsor of the event I would have thought they would consider details like this. This aside the room was clean and the service was good. The hotel is in a great position. Thank you to the Crowne Plaza in Canberra my husband and I did not arrive until 9pm and the reception staff were very helpful we booked online before we left home and we could not fault the team at the hotel we had a marvelous stay just to be by ourselves. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First time in Canberra My wife and I spent 7 days in Canberra and stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. We had a terrific stay there. The location is great, service and restaurants are top notch. The Staff wes extremely helpful. The room was clean and very functional. Complementary Wireless was appreciated since I was there on business. Only draw back was that the pool and Spa were close but you have to close things down to repair and improve. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel in good location This hotel is very convenient, and located in the city center which is very useful for short or longer visits. The hospitality is perfect and the staff give the guests a very good and pleasant service. The standards for cleaning the room seem to vary from one staff member to the other... The wifi is not free and yet rather slow and the connection in the rooms is weak and not always stable (and I've tried 5 rooms in the hotel). Over all, the experience was good and I would recommend this hotel to friends and colleagues coming to Canberra December 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly service but matress needs update the staff service and room condition was good. The window shades could do with some instructions on how to roll up. I believe mattress is spring based and was too soft and lumpy. I usually have no back pain; but I had back aching aa I got up. Bathroom could do with bath and shower tapware update. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good room layout A lot of bench / shelf / desk space which was in a light colour which is very helpful when a lot of cords etc are black.....they show up easily. The window blinds were excellent. Total blockout if required. Perhaps the bed was a bit soft ...maybe mattress needed turning. The actual room layout was interesting with a very large glass desktop behind the head of the bed making the 'bedrrom' part feel more intimate. Bathroom dated with a shower over bath and no plug. On departure the female receptionist did not bother to acknowledge I was even there, finally the acknowledgment was"you right ".......a fairly lacklustre way to speak to a guest. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and ambience let down a little by comfort We found the staff welcoming and helpful, appreciated the bonus drink and food at the bar and very much enjoyed our view over the park. The only detractor for us was the lack of comfort in the modern funishings. They look great but chairs with spongy cushions without back support hinder real relaxation. The Crown in Canberra is most definitely meets your expectations of a 5 star. All the facilities are fantastic. You can walk or take a quick bus anywhere to be where you want as the location is perfect. It has the best staff I have experienced thus far as well. To top it all off there's a great restaurant and bar connected. If that doesn't add up for you, the Casino is right there for some fun at night too. I highly recommend! October 24, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent staff and service I recently stayed at Crowne Plaza for a business trip with my husband joining me for the weekend. The staff went out of their way to make sure any request was met. While the rooms may not have the most modern bathroom, they were exceptionally clean, comfortable and better maintained than some other hotels which may have more modern decor. It was a busy week and the hotel seemed to be at maximum capacity yet not once did they not respond to any request promptly. I would return there to stay if I had to go to Canberra again. I joined as a IGH member as a result of this experience October 22, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing location and beautiful room My friend and I had a wonderful time. The hotel's location is a stone's throw from great restaurants and shopping. The service was wonderful and we were very impressed with the equipment in the gym. We were looking forward to using the pool but it was closed at the time of our stay. The hotel was fantastically located just 200m walk from the Festival and very close to the city centre. The rooms and bed were comfortable and while all the staff were so friendly and courteous, a special thank you goes to the blonde reception employee who greeted us with such a warm welcome and also changed our room to another part of the hotel without any fuss whatsoever. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nice room, good food and fine service my experience did not start so good since my reservation was not found upon my arrival. this was not particularly satisfactory after having traveled for almost 36 hours from Sweden, to London, Melbourne via Dubai and finally Canberra! Eventually my reservation was retrieved and I could start my stay, which was really comfortable with a nice room, good food and fine service from the maid to the reception, the concierge and the restaurant. the only minus that I can think of was the air conditioning that did not work as I expected since it was too cold during the night despite the fact that I set it up to 25 degrees Celsius! thank you all personnel for an excellent experience! I feel as though the staff were very professional, helpful and did whatever to meet our needs. The restaurant was able to help get us food that wasn't even on the menu and one of the staff members came over whilst we were eating breakfast and asked how it was and if there was anything they could improve on which was great. The breakfast was great, it was the only place I had been that makes eggs the way you want them and it was great that they made coffees and hot chocolates instead of having instant coffee machines. The only things I could fault is the pool area not being open as we normally book a place depending on the pool area and also the room service as we ordered the flour less cake and hot chocolates and it took a long time and when it arrived it was cold. Other than this it was a great place to stay and I would definitely stay there again. October 11, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bright and comfortable room Upon arrival I received an upgrade to a very comfortable room with bed oriented to face a park. Result was excellent natural light making the room nice and bright. The only downside was that a long queu developed each morning for breakfast. This was a slight negative on an excellent food choice and a wonderful "eggs and omelette" man. October 7, 2013
