Friendly and helpful staff. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The room was large, quiet and very comfortable. Main lobby was inviting and fun. Overall a very enjoyable 4 night stay.

I explained with my earlier comments but will restate. I woke to an awful smell in my room. Upon entering the bathroom, there was water and sewage coming up through the bath tub (I had not even used the shower/tub. The smell was so bad I have to pack things up and leave. When I told the front desk I was leaving because of the smell I was just asked what room and that they would put a ticket in. In fact, I showed them the picture, which I attached. Not once was I offered another room to get ready in.

New Lipstick on an old property

There was a lot of money invested in this property by Crowne Plaza. I feel they spent it in the wrong places. I can understand the desire to keep the historical part of the property intact, but the rooms are in rough shape, though they re-appointed them, with new tile floors in the bathroom, wallpaper, or other visual effects, but they should have invested in things like plumbing. In the last 4 times I have stayed at this property, EVERY sink in every room that I have stayed in leaked (in a desert!). One room, I had to move from because the sink was visibly broken, and would not turn on. The replacement room (upgraded to a suite) was OK, but nothing special, in my opinion.

I did not find the staff very helpful, and I was VERY disappointed in the service at breakfast (twice during my stay).
