Lobby inviting, decorated for the holidays. Staff was very helpful and attentive. Room was clean, beds very comfortable. My only complaint is that the room and the bathroom was a little small, but for an overnight stay it was fine.

I booked this hotel thinking it was truly a 4 star hotel but the staff was very nice and friendly. The first room we went into smelled very musky, not sure if it had been used in a while or what so they gave us another room. The second room we had was better as far as the smell but when I went to take a shower it took forever for the water to get hot which was also fine but then I noticed the tub was stopped up and the water was standing about 4 inches in the shower. I had to take a shower with cold standing water in the bottom then I started to see hair when I got out and it wasn't mine. It was late so I said I would notify the front desk in the morning , my husband and I got up to go and get breakfast and by time we had come back house keeping had already cleaned the tub and apparently realized the tub was stopped up because the drain plug had been detached from the drain so I never said anything about it. I was just done by then and frustrated about this hotel plus when I booked the room it said that breakfast was included but it wasn't. The staff was very nice though.

Disappointed that not all the rooms accommodate guest with the use of a refrigerator and microwave. We prefer not to go out to eat so we will go to the local grocery and bring food items we can microwave for lunch/dinner. Unfortunately we discovered our room did not have one. However, we were able to find the right staff member that went over and beyond and brought a microwave to our room to use. In the future I will know to request a room with these items

I stayed in room 1914 and the air conditioning unit was hard to adjust and sounded like an airplane engine when it came on.

Nice stay staff was good both upfront and in the restaurant were very nice. Just wish the room on the 19th floor was open for IHG members on the weekend. Should be... Overall it was a nice weekend.

I was in Charlotte for an aerobic continuing education function and was exhausted when I got to the hotel. The room was quiet, shower was great, and I was able to sleep well. I was glad that I had read the reviews about no refrigerator, but other than that my stay was relaxing. I did have dinner in the hotel. I was disappointed that after I ordered that it took 10 minutes for the staff to let me know that they were out of my choice, plus even though there were few people the service was a little slow (about 7:30 in the evening).

We enjjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Coffee not available in the room but available in the restaurant/bar. Really we can get all that we got here at other of the IHG brands and not be bothered by the request for a gratuity every time we turn around. Really did enjoy our stay here though. Really only did stay here for hotel promotion purposes.

Really surprised with the hospitality of staffs and the amount of details invested in room decor, comfort, cleanliness etc. Not mentioning they will undergo a major renovation on top of the quality they already possesed within their staff!

I won this room stay @ an auction, recently married we thought we'd use it on Nov. 2nd.... the room was really loud so much so we kept the bathroom door closed because it sounded like a hair dryer was continually running WEIRDDDD & I suppose the room had a roof had a leak because the patch job was HORRIBLE on the ceiling.
You expect better when you pay to stay in a "nice" hotel ... I think a little more "CARE" should be taken when making ceiling repairs.
Staff was GREAT... rest of hotel was nice... breakfast was nice, the Chef was hilarious.... really nice

I was pleasantly surprised when, at check-in, the person doing the checking- in had the authority to change our rate and didn't have to chase down a "manager" to give us the promo rate! The room was clean and comfortable - especially liked that they have upgraded for electronic devices and the electrical source (plugins) is on the desk, not the floor! All in all, a very pleasant stay.

We arrived 'late' (almost midnight). I'm embarrassed to say it took 15-20 minutes to check-in and there was no priority club members section. I found my and my colleague's advanced reservation out in clear view and easy access by 'anyone' which was concerning given the private information contained.
The floor in my room was unevenly sloped underneath carpet and made for an unbalanced surface to navigate.
Following an albeit short but well rested evening I visited same night manager on duty and requested a printed copy of receipt since I did not receive one under door of my room. I was informed I did not receive a printed receipt because I pre-paid. I responded that I ALWAYS pre-pay and ALWAYS receive printed receipt. It did not consume much time but it was not a plausible explanation of why I did not receive a printed receipt based on consistent experience (I traveled 4 nights the week before).

Found millipedes in the bathroom first morning I got up. Was a ground floor room so I had them move me up to the 9th floor. Also noticed hair spray can left under the bed so cleaning crew was not doing their job. Wallpaper peeling off in many places. Otherwise OK.

The initial room they assigned me had a pronounced sweet mildew smell to it. They also had dehumidifiers running in the hallways and the room, so there had been some type of water issue. After about a 30 minute wait, they were able to relocate me another room. This room was OK but a little tired and the toilet did not flush very well.
Overall, the hotel is tired. Two very good points to note: the bar and food are very good, and the staff is very friendly and professional.
Until the hotel is updated, there are probably better values around the immediate area.

I was staying at the hotel for an insurance school and had to be in my room each night studying for a test. The room was very clean and staff extremely friendly. The electical socket in the bathroom did not work on the first day and immediately someone came to fix it. The bed was comfortable and I rested better than at home. The only con I would say is not having a refrigerator or microwave in the room. Everything else was excellent!

The staff at this property is amazing--they're friendly, and helpful and just plain lovely. The day I was leaving, one of the housekeeping staff was on my floor and she actually stopped what she was doing to talk with me (first she invited me to come back soon, and then we got to talking about the upcoming renovation). The bed was very comfortable and the room was nicely laid out and appointed.
The room was a bit noisy--there's a fan going 24/7 which probably helps to mask any hotel noise, but was pretty loud (didn't hear other guests at all when I was in my room, but did hear doors closing--they slam no matter how careful you are with them). Also, the room was really bright at night--I know there's not a lot that can be done about that--many of the lights were safety-related, but it did make it harder to sleep.

The bed was so comfortable and the atmosphere was extremely peaceful, which is exactly what I needed. I loved the options that available in the fitness area. Although it was small, it was VERY convenient. One thing, no microwave or refrigerator. I understand you have room service available, but what about those individuals that want to bring in items such as water and snacks and just not be disturbed by anyone. I am quite sure you have them on the upper levels, so they should be available to the guest on the lower floors as well. I suggest adding these amenities to the rooms and you will receive an excellent overall rating each time.

While visiting Charlotte for a travel agent event, I choose this hotel because of it's convenient location and it's amazing pool facilities. I brought my daughter & mother along for a little R&R after the event. When arriving at the pool that evening after a long day, it was disappointing to see that the outdoor pool was closed due to rain and the indoor pool was filled with kids, apparently having a birthday party. There were 2 adults and 15 kids, all of which were screaming and shouting, which is intensified being indoors. I couldn't even hear my daughter talking right beside me. While in the whirlpool, little ones kept jumping in and splashing. Not so relaxing. At one point 2 of them jumped in and couldn't swim. The adult with them couldn't either and my mom and I had to jump in and pull them out! I normally would not fault the hotel for this, however, when one employee came in to check the towels, I asked if she could ask them to maybe keep it down a little. She said there was nothing she could do. Cutting my losses, I just decided to go back to my room. Well, the next morning upon check out I was informed by another employee that the noisy group were not even guests staying at the hotel. One was an employee or friend of an employee. This was the reason nothing was said to them. Apparently this happens on a regular basis. I believe the hotel should put a policy in place which would have an employee reserve the pool area and inform paying guests that it will not be in use so we can find other accommodations, which is what I would have done if I had know all this would be going on. What a shame! Normally, I would recommend this hotel for it's location, but will definitely not be recommending it to anyone looking to take advantage of their pool facilities.

Stayed here for 2 nights as a quick getaway. Although I've read many mixed reviews, our stay was great. The staff was accommodating, check-in was quick and easy and our room was fresh and clean. The bathroom was very small, especially in comparison to the size of the large room, but the shower was hot and strong and the amenities above average. Couldn't ask for anything more. We did not use the restaurant, so I can't comment on it. The location is close to the highway and airport, as well as great shopping. No great restaurants in the immediate area, but they are only a short drive away.

Customer service goes a very long way with me. During my recent stay here, I ate at the Birch restaurant and the ladies who helped me where amazing. Very nice and helpful. I would have given 5 stars for overall experience except that upon check in I gave my rewards # to the woman who helped me and she said she would have my reservation and points updated to reflect that stay. She took my information but never entered it. Not a huge deal, but if you say you will do something, you should. Pet peave of mine. I had to go to the website and submit the points form. Due to high requests it will take 3 to 4 weeks instead of the 3-4 days it would normally take. Like I said, not a big deal. There are worse things going on in the world. The hotel and staff were lovely and I would recommend the hotel. Just don't forget to add your Rewards number to the reservation when you make it, and avoid the hassle of trying to submit for them later. ;)

Wonderful except that it was totally disgusting to see room service trays from breakfast out in the halls well into the evening and still there even after the dinner hour! This is simply lack of caring and laziness on the part of room service staff. I called 3 times to complain and each time they were promptly picked up, but they should be picked up after breakfast anyhow. Maids should certainly tell someone to pick them up if they see them during their typical noon-time service.
The pool area was nice, but the pool was nearly filthy and the water horrid. I don't know if the water was supposed to be articial salt water or not, but every time I dove in and got just a bit of water on my lips it taste horrible. The bottom of the pool was scummy. I strongly recommend using one of those bottom skimming pool cleaning machines like I have at home.
On the positive side. Room was very nice, maid service was good, food was great, bartenders were great.
Clean things up a bit for my next stay and I'd rate it 5 outta 5 but as it was, just a 4.
