Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dasman Comfortable, but HVAC is not always up to snuff
I travel to the Philadelphia area 2-3x a month and stay at this location quite often. While I rarely use the restaurant, the front desk staff has always been friendly and Tim (in the Priority Club Lounge) is consistently outstanding.
The rooms are nice, but could stand a little refresh. Also, the fitness equipment is substandard for the chain and the location. I typically end up visiting Planet Fitness a couple of miles away.
The biggest drawback to the hotel is the inconsistency of the room HVAC systems. Most rooms are ok, but on the loud side. Even when the system is off, there is a consistent fan/wind noise coming from the system -- and this has been in every room I've stayed in (I'm typically on or above the 10th floor). However, every once an awhile I get a room where the system just can't keep up -- either being too cool in the winter or too hot in the summer -- this has happened 2-3 times out of about 30 stays).
The biggest upside is value... As long as you don't get a clunker HVAC room, from a value standpoint this location can't be beat. It is consistently much less expensive than anything comparable in Center City Philly (typically 30-50% less, but sometimes hundreds of dollars a night when there is a major event in Philly).

I stay at this hotel for an annual trip to NJ. I always look forward to staying at the Crowne Plaza and this trip was no different. The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable and all my needs were met at an affordable price. I would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers to the Cherry Hill area.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AGJ421 Fantastic Stay -- As Usual
Just like my first visit/stay at this property, this one was wonderful. I am always greeted by courteous and friendly staff who go out of their way to accomodate you. I have used the facility for busines and pleasure trips. On the night of my arrival (most recent trip), I heard at least two people complain that the food was not to their liking--I have never had this experience--and the cost of the meals was subtracted from their bills with no argument. I have, and will continue to encourage others to stay at The Crowne Plaza.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 1sttimevisitor Beautiful property but rooms need renovations
I stayed here for the first time with this property and this chain to attend a wedding ceremony. I decided to stay at this property because it was the groom's suggested room block. When we arrived, the first impression I received was of a young lady with pink hair, cut in a punk style (shaven on one side) assisting another guest. Upon our arrival, there was another woman at the front desk who disappeared in the back for what appeared to be several minutes before returning to assist us. Our greeting was less than inviting and when we arrived to our room as soon as you opened the door you were greeted by a huge iron stain burn on the carpet and a room that was outdated (to us). When I called downstairs to the front desk to inform them of the burn (I was concerned that they would believe we did it) the response was very nonchalant. We were not even offered to change rooms. We did not make a big deal about it because we were only there for one night anyway. Ironically, when we went to the wedding we were seated at the same table as a guest who also checked into this hotel and the same room, but because they were staying more than one night, they chose to move. This was a very disappointing experience as this was one of the first time I chose to stay at a property outside of my normal choice. I will not do this again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Echo421 To much noise and commotion.
There were two wedding parties residing in the hotel. There were two wedding tents set up outside in the parking lot. By 9 PM I could not deal with the blaring music coming from the parking lot and the loud commotion in the hallway by the party guests.
Also, for other reasons the hotel seemed to be at maximum capacity. The lobby area looked and sounded like a casino floor. Big crowd and lots of noise. I checked out of the hotel by 10PM that night. I did not ask for a refund. To much commotion and noise for me.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Donna1 Good Location, but hotel needs a bit of work
We attended for a regatta located across teh street in Cooper Park. But, the mattress was in need of replacing and made for a poor night's sleep. It was extremely soft and had a "ditch" in the middle, making it difficult to sleep. Also....the Keurigs are great, but they only gave a us decaf......definately needed the caffeine after the sleepless night. The price of the room, was a bit steep for the quality of the room.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hemy11 Did not like the pillows.
The bed was comfortable but didn't care for the pillows, and four on a bed?
Didn't care for the coffee maker. I would have liked one where I could make some tea.
Other than that, the room was okay.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by vinod12 Hotel is nice. Staff is not very responsive
I had my coffee machine not working and I tried calling but phone was not getting me to front desk. I used my cell phone and got through to front desk. They said they will send someone but no one came. I didn't bother calling again as it wasn't a big thing. I am not sure if this is their regular service level or may be they ignored me because it was a minor issue.

I do enjoy your hotel every year. This year was not very good at all. Upon arrival, the heating system was malfunctioning. I ask for it to be fixed and was told it was, yet the temperature fluctuated up and down, hot and cool, all night long. Additionally, the cooling system began to leak and drip water all night long in an incessant and irregular pattern, creating a sleepless night.
When I told the receptionist about the problem, she said it would be corrected. I indicated I felt payment for such facilities was not appropriate, especially given all that had happened.
The problem was not fixed upon my late return to the room for the second night and that night was the very same as the first. At 3:00 A.M., I went to the front desk to discuss the matter, again indicating I should not need to pay for a room I was unable to sleep in. I was told it would be taken care of, but upon receiving my bill, it was not. At that point, I was too tired to argue the matter.
I'm glad you sent this response request. I do enjoy your hotel, but this last stay was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in any hotel and I do not feel I should have been charged at all.
At the very least, I should be credited a stay for next October, when I do plan to return.

When I checked in, my room was freezing (61 degrees). After increasing the temperature setting significantly on the thermostat, the room reached 63 degrees...after 4 hours. Repeated calls to the front desk went unanswered until I was finally able to reach someone to assist. They did not offer to move me to a warmer room (or one with a properly functioning heating system) but sent someone from maintenance to clank around while I worked on important proposals.
While I was waiting for the room to reach a reasonable indoor temperature (I would have accepted anything in the 70 degree range!), I ordered room service so I could continue working on a time-sensitive proposal at my desk. At 8:30PM, I placed 4 calls before someone from room service answered to take my order. At 10:55PM my dinner had not yet arrived. When I called to inquire about the order, I (again) had tremendous difficultly reaching anyone in the kitchen or front desk. When the call was finally answered, I was put on hold and then informed that my order was never received by the kitchen staff. My dinner finally arrived after 3 hours...and it was terrible. I suppose I should have enjoyed the balmy 68 degrees that my room had reached by that time though?
I am disappointed that this chain failed to meet the standard espoused by other locations. I am a Priority Rewards member who travels 2x per month (not that it was acknowledged by the staff at all). This is a location that I will stay clear of for future travel. I submitted an online survey from my room during my stay and have never been contacted by management to follow up to my concerns.

As always, the staff is friendly and helpful. I am always greeted as a priority club member by the front desk staff. The front desk staff does not just process my reservations, give me my keys and send me off, thay always srtike up a conversation and are very friendly.
I stay at many Holiday Inn properties From Boston to NY to Philadelphia to Ottawa, Canada, including other Crowne Plaza's this is the best property of all of them.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mike500 Bed fine but some issues with the hotel
Bed and Bathroom were all fine, but the hotel seems to need an upgrade..the carpet looks like it's seen better days. More importantly, room service trays remained uncollected on the floor of my hallway...for at least 16 hours.
At breakfast I was asked if I had a coupon and was told that some people get free breakfasts. I asked the front desk about it and they just stared at me. It made me feel that I was being cheated.

We visit family in the area several times a year, The accomodations are excellent and the staff provides excellent service. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and spacious. I particular like the Keurig coffee brewer in the room. Great value for your money.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JPS54 Excellent hotel except for phone conversation with front desk
We had an excellent experience staying at the Cherry Hill Crowne Plaza. We were attending a wedding at the Camden Aquarium and the bride had blocked rooms at the Crowne Plaza and arranged for transportation between the hotel and the aquarium. Our room at the hotel was lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. The bell man and staff were friendly and helpful. The only problem I encountered was in a telephone call to the hotel a few days before the wedding. I wanted to request an earlier check in than the usual 4pm time because my husband and I needed to get ready in time for the shuttle that was going to pick us up at 4:30 for the wedding. I was told by the front desk representative that the front desk staff is never informed of the needs of guests staying in blocked rooms for weddings and she could not guarrentee that I would be able to check in earlier. When I explained that I would be late for the wedding if I was not able to check in one hour earlier she once again told me that she could not help me in any way and that there is never any communication between the staff that scheduled room blocking and the front desk staff, that she was not aware of the time of my shuttle since it was privately booked and I should call back the morning of the wedding. She was extremely unhelpful and acted as if my problem was of no concern to her. As it turned out we had no trouble with the early check in and did get to the wedding on time. But it would have been so much less worrisome if we could have been assured by the front desk before the morning of the wedding that we would not have any problems on the day of the wedding.
