I travel a lot. I generally like to book early departures which means you get to the hotel prior to most hotels standard check-in times. I've never had a problem checking in. I always get a room. At the Crown Plaza one member of the front desk staff, with out checking availability told me no rooms were available and that I had to come back at 3:00p.m. It was 9:30 in the morning. I spoke to another guest later in my stay who had the same experience with the front desk staff member. We waited an hour called the front desk and were told a room was available. The sheets and towels will rip your skin off. They are very hard. The maid cleaned the room but did not empty the garbage. The parking price is very high. We were waiting on a package but it was never delivered to the room. Had to call the front desk and sat on hold for 20 minutes before they could find the package. The room keys did not work properly....The price was good...and the location was even better.....Do not recommend this hotel.

We found the hotel and it's facilities to be very nice. We even had a nice meal in the restaurant. My only complaint was I felt the parking fee of $60 per night was too expensive.

Very nice hotel and as a Platinum member they took good care of me. A nice upgrade in my room and drink tickets made the stay better. As for Parking... $60 to park my car over night and the guy who brought my car around acted like he wanted a tip. I will not tip after spending $60 for less than 12hours of parking. That calculates out to $5/hour to park, outrageous!

My husband and I were extremely impressed with our stay at the Crowne Plaza on Huron in Chicago!!! I was having surgery at Northwestern and I spent the first night before the surgery at the hotel and then my husband stayed at the hotel the next three nights while I was in the hospital. The Crowne Plaza was wonderful and so conveniently located to everything in a very nice area of Chicago. My husband just had to walk across the street to the hospital and could walk to anywhere he had to go. The hotel is also close to the best running paths in Chicago which is a must for us. The hotel staff were friendly and very polite and helpful. Our room at the Plaza was incredible with the best hotel shower ever!!!! (and we've been to a lot of hotel and motels)! The bed was very comfortable and the value was excellent!!! The Crowne Plaza on Huron has become our new "go to hotel" when we make our trips to Chicago whether for fun or medical reasons.

These things stood out the most to me and my family and we stay in hotels in upwards to 15 to 20 nights a year.
When we arrived at the hotel it wasn't busy yet no one offered to help us with our bags or ask us if we were checking in or anything. That aside I approached the front counter and said Hello! at least twice and the young lady just proceeded with her script. So after 25 min because our room wasn't ready we had sat in the lobby. Eventually I asked her if there was somewhere that we can leave our luggage bag. She then called the bellhop over that had walked passed us about 3 to 4 times without any bags in his hands.
We really didnt care since we were only staying overnight and not spending hardly anytime in this hotel. But once we got back to the room that night everyone showered in the morning just to discover that the wall tile in the shower was absolutely filthy. That took the cake for us and we checked out immediately even though it wasn't part of our initial plan at that time.
When we checked out yet I spoke again with no response back. She did ask me how my stay was and the reply was oh thats unfortunate...here's your bill.
Bottomline for me is that it was the 1st time I stayed at a Crowne Plaza Hotel and you can believe it will be the last...it's just too many to choose from to stay again.

Comfortable, cozy suite with plenty of room and very reasonable price. Great location. My go-to hotel for Chicago business stays, whether downtown or for McCormack shows.

The lady who checked us in was super nice, polite and friendly. I came to town to attend a Conference at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. We arrived at 7:30am, our reserved room isn't ready yet but she upgraded us to a King Suite so my girlfriend could unpacked and not worry what to do for 6 hours while I am in Conference. We would definitely return to this wonderful hotel!!

A five minute walk to Northwestern. I was able to sleep comfortably and felt safe through out the entirety of my stay. Very clean and the staff was amazing. Special thanks and compliments to Stephen at the front desk. Also a beautiful and relaxing view was very welcomed after stress filled days. Would definitely stay there again and I highly recommend The Ave.

I stayed at the Avenue a few years ago and had a fantastic experience, from the room (huge) to the bed (just the right amount of softness and support) and a great experience with the staff. This time, however, we wound up with a room that wasn't ready until after 4:00, and which had a broken countertop, cracked toilet seat, and a TV that kept turning itself on at 3:00 in the morning without fail. Also, the housekeeping staff for some reason never actually cleaned the room completely; I found old, still damp washcloths in the bathroom, the first set of shampoo/etc. was almost empty, and the replacements were haphazardly thrown onto the counter. And our entire floor was always badly lit and had a musty smell. Next time I will be more careful to specify the type of room at booking (highly recommend a master king suite if the price is right when booking# and not settle for a random room that was apparently assigned last minute. All that said, this hotel is a great location if all you want is a decent room on the Mile. And it's 100 times better than the Allerton (right next door) has been in my experience.

Great atmosphere at the hotel. I was upgraded to an Executive Suite for my membership level in IHG Rewards. Beautiful room and a comfortable bed. I don't sleep very well in the city surroundings, because I can't get used to the sirens and the noise. However, this stay was very enjoyable, due to the hotel.

I found your hotel great to stay at. The corner suite room was great. The bed very comfortable. The restaurant was good, although a couple of mornings for breakfast it was short staffed but the food was good.
Nicole at the front desk is awesome. She was very helpful to me and some of my colleagues. Nicole represents the hotel and its goal to make sure the guest comes first.
I was in rm. 2416. Rastani I will stay here again on my next visit to Chicago for sure!!!!!!

When our reservation was made we were told since we are "gold" members we had the option of checking in early.So there we are at our hotel trying to check in early and we were told there were no rooms available. When I questioned the staff member she very shortly replied "there are none available." Funny....because the person behind me was able to check in to his room early. Same room, 2 guests.) We had all of our luggage (which they did store for us.) and had travelled a total of 6 hours before arriving at our destination. We were unable to change our clothes, there was not a bathroom available for us to use. But they "apologized for the inconvience." We inquired about transportation to the United Center and we were told a train did not go there, no other options were offered. We are tourists and have never been to the UC.We do however, travel to Chicago a few times a year. My husband travels for work and always stays at a IHG brand hotel. This is the only problem he has ever had and we will NOT be staying at the Crowne Plaza EVER again!

Located just off the Magnificent Mile, the Crown Plaza is a good value and close to shopping, museums, and fine restaurants. The Elephant and Castle Pub is in the hotel and a fun place. Great staff, large executive suites, and a convenient hotel for a fun or business visit to Chicago.

My room was quiet and comfortable, and adequate work area to prepare for daily meetings. The hotel is close to many,many attractions of this great city. The staff was always helpful to me and others, and they gave great directions and suggestions when asked.
My stay was for several days. I will return on my next Chicago trip. I have stayed in many hotels and I am quite pleased with this one.

The hotel was nice but the safe didn't work inside of our room. It was also a little loud because of the ambulance trucks going by all night. I think we might have been on the loud side of the building.

Hotel location is perfect in Chcago and room is quite comfortable except the spider on the wall. The staff is really friendly and make me and my family comfortable. Room service was good and everyday the room was cleaned. House keeping brought humidifier and microwave for my kids. That was pretty helpful but refrige in the room is too small and first they charged the liquors that we don't use them. But the front deck solve the problem with that. One bad thing of this hotel is a bell boy with no smile eager to getting the tips. But it depense!

We selected the Crowne Plaza Hotel for it's fantastic location but we were surprised by the quality of the hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The real secret of the Crowne Plaza is the quality of the staff. Every one of the staff, from the maid to the front desk, to the bar tender are helpful and friendly. Its not just about hiring the right people, It is also about maintaining a friendly and customer first atmosphere. For example, after checking-in and going to my room I received a call from the person who checked me in to see if my room met my needs and asked if I needed anything else. Also, when I asked the front desk for directions to Trader Joe's they also gave me directions to Whole Foods (4 blocks away). The staff constantly went the extra step to make my stay comfortable. Nice job Crowne Plaza! I'll be staying there when I return to Chicago.

Arrived around 5pm on Saturday and was only staying for one night. The front desk was staffed with 3 people, so I was helped immediately and the clerk was very polite and professional. I was upgraded to a king suite, which was nice. The Rewards Club recognition bag contained two bottles of water and two Kashi Granola bars. The room was spacious and for the most part clean. There was white dust all over the coffee table in the middle of the room that made it seem like some maintenance had been done but the table didn't get cleaned afterwards. Other than that, everything was great including the bedding and the bathroom. There was also a mini fridge (functional, but pretty beat up).
Negatives: Elevators were really slow, and many people were waiting in the lobby. Not sure what was up, but a couple of the elevators seemed to be staying near the top floors. Might want to tweak these. There were also only one plug available to plug electronics into and that was at the business desk. Not a deal breaker, but annoying.
Overall, it's a nicer hotel right off of Michigan Ave right next to the Apple Store. It's a short walk to the Red Line and in the heart of town. It's a good choice if you're in the area.

You pay more for this hotel than you do comparable hotels. Then, they want you to pay for internet. Then there is no vending in the hotel, so they want you to pay their overinflated rates for the food/drink in the honor bar.

First nite got NO SLEEP because there was a constant banging and clunking in the wall & ceiling. No view - looking at concrete wall. That room 1407 was terrible. Could not see ANYTHING! Had to change room for second nite which was so much better 3212. Was not told about the temporary refundable charge for incidentals. Person checking us in was very rude. Nicole on the second day was so very nice. Plan to come back to Chicago but not sure we will stay at Crown unless there is some compinsation for our sleepless nite in 1407.

Your paying for the location. Room had a big tackey loose square carpet patch job.
Dried old lettuce under chair result of a poor cleaning job.
Omni is MUCH better for slightly more and an even better location.....Stay there.
I will say staff and valet were very pleasant and great to work with.

Our room was comfortable, but could use some heavy duty cleaning. Room was very dusty, and had several cob webs. Coffee and water area wasn't very clean. Bathroom top of tiles very dirty.

This without a doubt is my favorite place to stay in Chicago. Since I am a Platinum member I almost always get an upgrade and if you visit during the Summer, their roof pool is incredible. Staff is very good and the location is perfect. Probably one of my favorite Crown Plazas that I have ever stayed at.
