I have nothing negative to say about the place. Me and my fiancé spent 2 nights there and we enjoyed it. It's close to the train and bus station, not far from some main attractions and very high quality for a decent price range. We'd for sure go back when visiting Chicago again.

Great Place to Stay!

This hotel is situated in a great place. It is close to everything; downtown, restaurants (Greektown), bars, shopping, interstate, grocery, Walgreens and parking. It is very clean and quiet. The staff is very attentive and the valet parking attentants remember you.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in that area for business or pleasure.

unpleasant experience

My negative experience started with the VP of Sales at the property.
I called to make a reservation and realized I had called on Monday morning the Sunday prior was the deadline for the group rate reserved for Bar Examinees. The VP of Sales categorically refused and seemed condescending when i appealed to him expressing that I had been less than one day late and could he not honor the group rate for people who are taking the Bar Exam. NO Exceptions was his reply. I was disappointed with his treatment of a potential guest. I decided to book the room at his elevated rate anyway.
When I arrived on 2/23/15 I provided my credit/debit card and I asked the front desk attendant if any charges would be run, she replied no. that would be done at check-out. I retired to my room get on my laptop and realize she had run four-times the elevated room rate causing an overdraft to my checking account and snowballing in additional fees and penalties. I immediately called the front desk asked to speak to the manager. She expressed her apologies agreed to reverse the charges until my checkout leaving the overdraft charges and penalties to me and my bank.
Such an unacceptable and unpleasant experience from the very beginning, particularly poor professionalism from the VP of Sales who represents the Crowne Plaza via-a-vis the Bar Examinees group, and the apparent failures at the front desk. I will be extremely apprehensive and cautious if I ever decide to stay at this hotel group again.
