Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place to stay! The Crowne Plaza was a wonderful place to stay. People were very helpful and nice, hotel was very clean and well kept. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were really updated and beautiful. Would highly recommend this hotel. We were with a basketball team and this hotel did everything to welcome us and take care of us. Thank you! May 17, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by There are much better choices out there! I booked the room online for a convention then had three friends want to room with me. I called the hotel to see about upgrading to a suite so we would have lots of room and the staff told me the hotel didn't have suites at all in their bulding; only one kind of standard room. This was the first hotel I have stayed at (including very cheap ones) that did not have a mini fridge or microwave in the room. I ended up visiting several rooms to hang out with other friends and was annoyed to find one had a room with a seperate kicthen area and another had a microwave - not sure why the staff had to tell me they didn't offer those amenities vs. saying they were booked up. There is pretty decent parking and lots of fast food around. Not sure if it was hotel staff or not, but there was a real creep working security - tried to hug all the girls in corsets in exchange for not fielding noise complaints. The room was clean. If you're just staying overnight it would be okay, but I wouldn't stay more than that. May 12, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not that great The only reason I would stay here again would be if I was to coco key again. The convenience of having the hotel connected to the water park is nice. No free breakfast, the rooms are small, esp the bathroom, it is difficult to navigate through the hotel because nothing is marked well, the staff admitted the we're new; therefore, service was slow. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disappointed When I checked in I asked about the Platinum upgrade. The person at check in looked at me as if I had 3 heads. I explained what it was and how it worked and I was told NO. That was it. No other explanation. I did not receive the normal courtsey bottle of water or anything else. This Hotel caters to alot of "weekend" people because of the attached CoCo Key Water Resort and the rooms reflect this. The room that I spent 2 nights in had damage to the bath tub that looked as if someone was in it with a paint scraper and scraped away part of the white making the tub look as if it had not been cleaned in a very long time. The carpet was very worn and extremely dirty looking. The walls of the room had stains on them. I had no "Do not disturb" sign to put on the door so the next morning at 9am the maid knocked on the door. I told her we were not ready to leave. She then started making noise in the hallway and again knocked on our door about 20 mins later. Again, I told her we were not ready to leave. At this point I am wondering if she understood English, So I closed the door and 5 min. later came another knock. This time it was a different maid with a clipboard. I told her we were not ready to leave and to please quit disturbing us. Overall this was a very disappointing experience since this is pushed as a upscale hotel. I am on the road traveling 5 days a week and stay in some out of the way places but I have not had this poor of an experience in my travels. May 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Not bad as some reviewers indicate. I have to admit I was worried about my stay after reading some of the horrible reviews but after 2 nights there I have to say my experience was quite the opposite. I did not try the restaurant or the pool so I cannot comment on them. The check in went smooth and the young man working the front desk, Joshua, was very friendly and professional. My "executive" room was clean and very nice located on the 11th floor. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked fine, no lack of hot water or variations in the temperature as some reviews mentioned. The room was quiet and I slept well the 2 nights I was there with no noise or disturbances in the hallways (again as some reviewers mentioned). The only drawback to my room was the lack of a mini fridge. There was a space for it under the television but the space was, unfortunately, empty, had there been a fridge and microwave this review would have been a 5 star review. Overall I have to recommend this hotel and if I am in the area again I will be sure to stay again. Thanks! May 6, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Experience We were there to attend a convention so we were booked for 2 nights. This was the worst hotel I have ever been in. I have traveled all across this country and never have I been in such an unclean and unfriendly place. Especially for the cost. The room they put us in was dirty when we walked in the door. The TV would not allow us to use our DVD player so my 3yr old could watch something since they didn't even have the Disney channel. When we called the front desk they said they would send someone down. An hour later no one had come so my husband went up there and all they did was give him a new remote. It still didn't work. When he called back to them they put him on the phone with someone who couldn't even speak english. Hardly any of the staff spoke english. There was a party in our hallway and the cigarette smoke from that room rolled all the way to our end and under the door so much I had an asthma attack. This was suppose to be a NON SMOKING hotel. The next morning there was nothing but ice water to take a shower in. We went to the morning events of the convention and rooms down the hall had put room service trays out. Those same trays were still there at 9pm that night and we know housekeeping had been in the hall because I spent 5 mins just trying to ask them for towels because I didn't trust them in our room...once again these people could not understand english. Because of the convention we had no choice but to stay both nights. When I finally checked out the Front Desk person didn't even inquire if I had enjoyed my stay or say Thank you for staying. Just said "Here is your bill want that on your Mastercard?" May 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by My vote for the worst hotel restaurant in existance. We've stayed in many, many hotels over the years but I don't remember ever encountering a restaurant as bad as this one. The breakfast was mediocre. The restaurant, the plates, and the food were simply dirty. Everything smelled of dirty dishwater. It was clear that there was no chef on the premises. The offerings of dried up and bad smelling food were so awful that we actually got up and left. It was the first time we've ever walked out of a restaurant. During the evening, I called room service to send up more packets of coffee, because we didn't get any. It never arrived. I stopped one of the staff in the hallway and remarked that we never received the coffee packets. He just laughed and said "that's typical", and walked away. The desk clerk was far more helpful, but couldn't find any coffee except decaf. At least he tried. I think this place is such an embarrassment to a fine city! I could never recommend it to anyone.
