Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not very clean The hotel is definitely showing its age. Carpets were dirty. Lobby furniture had torn cushions. Ice machine on the floor was not working. Bathroom in guest room looked dirty even after cleaning staff came through. Towels had stains. The topper was that the hotel staff other than the chef named Duncan didn't really seem to care about much. We received a flyer upon check-in welcoming us and stating that the staff would do anything to help our stay. It should have said "will do nothing". I recommend you find a nicer/cheaper place if possible. April 19, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor maintenance When I checked in the room I went to hang up some clothes in the closet and the handle fell off in my hand. The shower curtain was too short and allowed water on the floor making for an unsafe condition after finishing my shower. I was disappointed that the TV was not digital or HD. The were plenty of channels to choose from but the picture quality was very poor. I thought the hotel was a little too far from the soccer tournament. April 19, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by we checked out a day early I was excited that this was a Crown Property, and grossed out by the time we checked out. The room looked nice at first glance. Then we noticed the toilet seat was broken, had been taped and the dirty adhesive was still on the seat. The beds were uncomfortable and the experience in the restaurant was awful. The servers just walked around and we saw a number of tables just get up and leave. Our food took forever and it was not good. The friday night was awful in the water park. Not enough staff to handle the crowd and there were a crowd of boys pushing all the little kids around. It was better on Saturday morning. The hotel pool (not the water park) was GROSS it was murky and you couldn't see even 6" down. My daughter ended the weekend with her first ear infection of ther 10 year old life. We would never go back. April 15, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Manager and Staff was Excellent! We tried to check in to our rooms at 4pm, but due to a crazy convention of people that dress up like their favorite game personality we didn't get all of our rooms until 5pm. The Manager and staff was excellent and made it right with us for having to wait. The convention was terrible, it was tough getting through the hallways, and even getting in an elevator was tough, crazy kids was sitting on the elevator floors riding them up and down saying stupid things to us. Once we seen a elevator and when the doors opened, it was full of kids, and they were jumping up and down in it, we stayed away from that elevator our entire stay, thinking it could have been damaged. They had it bouncing up and down at least a foot. This was our second trip to the Crowne Plaza Cincinnati North and we had a great time otherwise. The staff is very friendly, and the Chef is awesome! The children and grandchildren had a fantastic time at the CoCoKey Waterpark, even though all of the water except the kiddy pool was quite chilly they are ready to come back. I believe this was the first time that the Crowne Plaza had ever had that group for a convention, and it wouldn't surprise that they don't get invited back. Thanks again! :-) April 12, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room was fine, everything else. . . Not! The room itself was fine, clean and was able to get extra towels when needed. However when we went downstairs to use the pool we found that it was utterly disgusting! The smell itself was abhorrent and there were feces around the pool itself!! I was amazed at how gross it was, we turned around and left. Would not return under any circumstances. April 12, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Atmosphere We checked in on Saturday. Found out a Gaming and Animation Convention being held at site. Not too bad until we tried to get to room. Could not get through hallways to elevators. Then that night inappropriate behavior of "gamers" on grounds and in elevators when children were present. They were up all night yelling and carrying on in courtyard as well as hallways while we were trying to sleep. Called security once, but started up again. Next morning no luggage carts anywhere in hotel to be found! Had to drag all our stuff down 6 floors to lobby. Also, went into restaurant to see about breakfast. The tile floor around the breakfast bar was so sticky my shoes kept sticking to the floor. "Gamers" laying around on benches, sofas. Some dressed not appropriately for a family hotel with an indoor water park for children. Was not happy with stay. April 8, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Far from what we expected The room was okay, but, the ceiling had a mysterious black color to it above the television set. The bathtub had missing enamel/paint near the drain and the tile on the floor was not clean. The family restroom in the swim park was not checked regularly and had feces on the toilet and floor surrounding it. A step at the entrance to the kid area was duct taped and about to break open. Pictures did not match what was at the hotel. Think twice before booking. The ice machines on all three floors in the east building did not work. No signs were posted even after we complained that they were not working. Front desk did not know how to reach the water park from inside the hotel. April 8, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by More a water park for kids than hotel One of the worst CP in the chain. Untrained staff at checkin would not look up my priority # for me. Did not seem to know what kind of pillows were in the room. More concerned with a phone call then my checkin. More of a water park than 3 1/2 star hotel. April 7, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Staff! Loved everything about this hotel, altough the waterpark was more geared towards young young kids, I did have a blast. Delicious drinks at the bar :) April 4, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice water park, poor customer service We chose this because it was cheaper than other indoor water parks, but you get poor customer service. Took a long time to check in, very few people to help you. We had no hot water to shower the next morning but no one seemed to care. I tried to talk to someone about it but they didn't care that we weren't satisfied. Next time we will stay somewhere else. April 4, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel on the decline I have been staying at this Crowne location for over 5 years. Over the years I have noticed a decline in the overall property. As things break or need replaced it's very obvious they are not updated or the repairs are not good quality. My room had drain problems in both the sink and tub. I called several times, was put on hold or hung up on. I did report but the issue was not addressed during my 5 day stay. I travel to this area 2-3 times per year and will consider staying in another hotel. The onsite restaunt has never been good. The food has always been so so and the service aweful. During this stay 3 people in our party got 3 different types of french fries and we all ordered the same entree. April 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel for an awesome convention! We've stayed here once before and both times it has been wonderful. The rooms are great. The pool is great. Cocoa Keys Water Park is awesome. We came for a convention and staying here is always so much fun! Easy to get to off the highway. Lots of food places, mall etc nearby. The staff is very nice. We will def. Stay again next time the convention comes in! Thank you!! March 29, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by we were part of the convention weekend but most things went well can't expect anything when your there for a convention, but the hotel did good, a big 5 star for christopher who was our waitor both friday and saturday. he was on top of everything even tho their was a thousand people there.. only complaint was when we checked in the tv continuesly flashed every 10 seconds from channels 2 thru 16(showtime) and the remote didn't work, called down to the front desk they said they would take of it. they did bring a new remote but the tv was still flashing, so i told them again sat. morning at the front desk, said they would take care of it, got back to the room, still flashing. still flashing when we checked out on sunday. not quite sure how on friday and sat. maintance missed the flashing tv picture. other than that for a major convention going it was good, all staff were very polite which was probably hard with all those people. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly and accommodating staff I would stay here again, staff was very helpful and told me about the hospitality suite. March 11, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast I travel extensively in the USa for Business. A good breakfast is a must. In almost all Crown Plaza properties I have stayed in as a Platinum member, breakfst is part of the stay. This was not the case in Cincinnati North. I have also stayed at the Holiday Inn North in the same general area and breakfast is always included. Not a deal breaker but it would certainly be nice. thanks March 7, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Needs some improvement I planned on arriving late in the evening after a long drive, so the day before, I called to request a baby crib be placed in my room before arriving. I was informed this would be taken care of before I checked in. Upon checking in, I asked again about the crib, She told me I do see the note on your reservation, I'll send a crib up to your room now. 30 min. later I call back down to the front desk and ask again for the crib, At that point I am told the hotel no longer offers baby cribs and all the cribs were recalled. Instead they sent up some extra blankets for my infant to sleep on. This made for a very long night with a crying baby. Then the next morning I got to take a shower and find long black hairs all down the shower wall. Overall, it was a very uncomfortable stay. March 5, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Absouletly A Nightmare!!!!! Front Desk called Housekeeping to check to see if room was clean,, They said it was,,,, it was not at all,,, moved us to another room that had no heat!!!! 20 degrees out side!!! Terrible time!!! I Recommed not to stay at this hotel!!! I also called their Corporate Office and Complained too,, very unorganized!!! February 24, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very Uncomfortable stay I have never stayed at such a disgusting Crowne Plaza. The room was terribly small. The bath tub was peeling and undesirable. Large pieces of wood were also peeling off of the beds. I called the front desk 4 times over three hours trying to purchase a refrigerator. Each time i called the phone would ring forever. One of those times the phone rang so long that it just hung up. They kept telling me that it would be a while do to all the calls flooding in. I said that was fine but I needed a refrigerator seeing as though I have a 16 month old daughter who drinks milk. The whole experience outside of the waterpark was absolutely horrible. I just recently stayed at a Crowne Plaza hotel in Indy near the airport and in was magnificent. Comparing the 2 would be like comparing night and day! My stay was very unpleasant. However I do like the waterpark. February 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Experience We were with 4 famililes and asked to be placed together and were on four different floors and no where close to each other. Our room was very clean and neat. Two of the families had cleanliness issues with their rooms. Our only frustration was that we paid to get into the water park as part of the package and then paid for food and drinks. The staff working in the food stands were giving out arm bands and food to their friends. We were very diasppointed in that! In fact a family in front of us waited for over 20 minutes for their pizza to be remade. When they stepped out their pizza was given to friends of the worker. That is frustrating. Otherwise we really like this water park. It is smaller and more affordable and the kids like it too. February 19, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible service. The staff screwed up the 2 reservations I had. I had to ASK for coffee creamer and sugar for my coffee maker. They didn't restock the coffee packs I used. Had to ask for a refrigerator for the room. No microwave. Maid service was terrible. Rooms not cleaned properly. I won't go back there. Ever! February 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Amenities and Excellent Room Three day stay for a business conference at the Sharonville Convention Center. Hotel was across the street and very convenient. I stayed on the executive floor and my room was well spaced out and the bed comfortable. The only thing that I would have added was an in room refrigerator and microwave, but there was both in the executive lounge just down the hall from my room. February 6, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Under Staffed and Poor Condition Our stay began with finding that the heat did not work in the room After 1 hr to get a repair person to the room and confirm work had to be done, we were moved to another room. The primary reason for our stay was to enjoy the advertised Coco Key waterpark. We found that there was only a very minimal lifeguard staff on duty. In fact, there were so few lifeguards that one pool (lilly pads and basketball) was not even opened and they had to rotate between having the lazy river open or the slides, BUT NEVER BOTH THE ENTIRE WEEKEND. This was highly disappointing to crowd all the guests together between just two water attractions, and was a dis-service to the guests to charge full price and not provide the staff to offer what was sold. Finally, we tried to have some fun at the arcade and found that more than 50% of the games were out of order, the coin changer was out of order, and the ticket redeeming machine was not working. The disrepair and understaffing left us feeling completely ripped off. We will not be back!!! February 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worthy of the Crowne Plaza Title This was going to be a nice weekend getaway for my family. I have been staying away from Holiday Inn properties due to the lack of consistency. Holiday Inn express properties tend to be okay, but I have not seen a regular Holiday Inn property that is worth staying at in a long time. I decided to try this property out as it had the attached water park (which my son loves) and since it was under the Crowne Plaza brand I figured it would be a good property. Unfortunately that was a wrong assumption. The water park itself was great and I would recommend it wholeheartedly. As were checking in I overheard the desk clerk say the park was at capacity and they would no longer be selling day passes. We had purchased them as a package so we still got in but I was worried it would be so full as to be overwhelming. Although busy it was not packed and I give them credit for cutting off entries with the right amount of space left. Teh park itself was very good and worth the entry fee. The hotel, on the other hand,w as not. It took us 10 minutes to even find our room as the signs to the East elevator led us into a hallway with no additional signage. After wandering the halls for awhile we finaly figured out that the plain door marked Exit at the end of the hallway was actually the door to the elevator as well. Once we got into our room I felt like I had stepped into the 1980's. The wallpaper was peeling, there was an old CRT instead of a flat screen and the heater was so loud that we were unable to get a decent nights rest. The one bright point was the bathroom. It has been updated and looked like a Crowne Plaza bathroom. We found out the next morning that although it looked good, the shower only got to a lukewarm temperature so it was also dissapointing. After all of this dissapointment, I emailed the GM of the property (She had her email listed on our receipt) to give her a chance to respond. It has now been two weeks and no response. Also, I left a message with the Priority Club customer service a week ago and have not heard anything from them either. In summary, not only is this a terrible hotel, but neither the local or Corporate management seems to care. Do whatever you can to avoid this hotel and the Priority Club brand at any cost. As a final note, I was a Platinum Member last year, and have since dropped to Gold. I assure you I will not be staying enough in any of their hotels to make elite again. January 31, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rooms and facility were great. I thought the facility was great. I didn't think they necessarily staffed appropriately at some busy checkin / check out times but I realize that may have been due to staff call outs, etc. Long walk to the elevator but it is a big place and the way finding (signage) was good. I did not go to the indoor pool or the water park but I thought was a great amenity to offer. The work out room was okay but 2 machines were broken. All in all it satisfied my goals. I had a room-mate so was able to split the cost. I'm not sure I would have felt the same way if that hadn't been the case. January 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent experience This is one of my favorites hotels, I always celebrate my birthday there because is in January and with the cold weather this hotel is a a good place to relax and have fun at the water park. The personnel in this hotel is very friendly and very helpfull. Thank you, January 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by housekeeping My family had a wonderful time. I just want to thank the maid that clean our room #203 a BIG THANK YOU. My granddaughter left her cell phone in the room, and they return it to her. So I am so thankful their is honest people working for you. January 26, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by awesome thank you for the wonderful stay, the kids had an amazing time especially at CoCo Key!! housekeeping was amazing, we left our sons coat and they saved for us to pick up, with no questions asked. Thank you again!! January 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice staff! It is a known fact that the staff can make or break a guest's overall experience and stay. In the case of the Corwne Plaza, I found the staff extremely friendly and welcoming. They showed genuine concern to my needs and made every effort to address them. I will definitely return! January 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful way to bring in the New Year! This was the perfect way to celebrate New Year's Eve with our children. The waterpark was not that crowded, the room was comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! The head chef was especially helpful and I was pleasantly surprised to see him on New Year's Eve and back again the following morning helping with the breakfast buffet. January 8, 2013
