After working late, I was wishing to have a good nights sleep. Unfortunately there was a lot of noise in the evening along the corridor. To compound this, I had the house cleaning attempting to enter my room at 0715. Once I told them that I was still in bed they moved to the next room and proceeded to vacuum. The walls are not very thick and a collegue could hear the noise 2 rooms away.
The facilities are good and what I booked the hotel for, but I also booked it to sleep at which was difficult. A positive, a very good bed.

Superb all round accommodation. Stayed overnight before a trip and ate in the restaurant....excellent! Stayed overnight on return and ate in the bar area....also excellent. All staff very courteous and rooms are great, Would thoroughly recommend and will stay again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mykul A good nights sleep
The Crowne although being ocated on a busy roundabout is quiet inside.
I usually ask for a high floor which is usually accommodated in the quiet zone (floor 7).
From checking in to leaving staff are helpful.
The lfits need some care and attention but otherwise for a 2 or 3 night stay at a quality business hotel the Crown takes some beating .

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jazzt1 Friendly staff and fantastic breakfast selection
We spent two nights here in early January and were very impressed with the look of the hotel, the staff who made us feel welcome (even though I'm sure we weren't their most prestigious clients!) and the ease of check in. The room was great, not huge but we didn't need it to be. Clean and well-equipped. The buffet breakfast was excellent - cooked food, 6 different types of pastries, toast, juices, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, yoghurt - all we could wish for. A great hotel and we will certainly use it again for flights to/from Gatwick. Bus to and from the airport was also good value and easy to use.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by NTC1 Room and restaurant
The room(s) were very small more like a budget hotel, the number of TV channels available was limited and the picture quality was bad. The restaurant was overpriced and not good quality.
The rooms I stayed in were noisy with lots of building noise.
The pool was great.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MLA70 Noisy room
Unfortunately I can´t write a good review for this hotel. The staff were very helpful, the room very nice and clean and what you would expect from this hotel, the bed comfortable. What ruined a perfectly fine night´s rest were the noises in the room. The fan in the bathroom didn't stop for hours after switching off the lights, so even with the door closed you could hear it from the bedroom. Then, during the night the air con started making these strange noises (our unit was off, it must have been because it was being used in another room). So we got up feeling we had hardly slept at all. We chose this hotel for the location, didn't check in until almost midnight and left early the next morning, so our main aim was to get a good night´s rest which we didn't get. Won't be back.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BK123 Not the greatest location and meager upgrade
The location of the hotel is not ideal. You can't walk anywhere and need a car to get around.
As a Royal Platinum Ambassador, I expected club lounge access and a double room upgrade, which was not the case.
The room was small and the level of noise was really bad.
I was really disappointed by my stay at this hotel.

Would highly recommend.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by FUINAO Weekend stay
My wife and I stayed for three nights, and have stayed with the Hotel on numerous occasions before. It is our regional preferred point of stay from Holland.
The hotel rooms, Crowne Club, have always been clean and tidy with the housekeeping staff friendly and attentive, as is the reception and bar staff. However there are faults!
The quality of the restaurant food is below par for a 4* hotel. Strangely, the bar food is better! The shuttle bus is, quite frankly, a joke. Obviously out-sourced, the service is bad. The bus had no heating, is uncomfortable and very noisy. We had to wait more than 45 very cold minutes, for the regular timed pick-up at the airport. And you have to pay. So have some English Pounds ready if you arrive from overseas! (It also serves other hotels along the way!) Some of the bar staff, although helpful, could do with some 'wine awareness' guidance.
All-in-all though, :) :) :) (a 3 smilies, out of 5, customer rating).

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dock4 Family Rooms
I love this hotel and stay 5 or 6 times a year with my two daughters, the pool is really warm and facilities excellent. The only thing that lets it down is the poor quality pull out beds in the family rooms. The matress's are all very thin and now that my children are slightly older (10 and 12) they are slighly heavier and find the pull out very uncomfortable, this means fights every time we stay there as to who gets the proper bed! If the hotel could sort that out (they've spent fortunes on scatter cushons recently - should have invested in a few thicker amttrass's) it would be the best hotel in the area.

It's always a pleasure staying at a Crowne Plaza hotel. Excellent hotel and excellent value with great service. My one minor criticism would be the shower could do with modernising.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Roge1 Priority Platnium Members not recognised
Hotel room are small and when normally at other hotels check in staff would offer without prompting an upgrade or apologise that they are full and unable to provide an upgrade. In this case the check in staff simply said No upgrade could be provided even though they admitted they were not full.
When I check out and was aksed about my stay I pointed this out and the girl said my number and platnium status was not on y booking, I showed her on the check in form where both number and status were printed.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by monkeyspanner Gatwick Valet Parking Stay
Pre stay parking arrangements and meet and greet style parking excellent. Extra large quiet room with king and queen beds. Limited TV channels. Air conditioner slightly noisy and room smelt of air conditioning. Bathroom small in comparison with the overall size of the room. Parking good to rear of hotel (drop your luggage at reception first). Problem with room door lock resolved by staff quickly. Pleasant booking & reception staff.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by McGSmith1 Value for money park and fly
This for me was a good value for money park and fly offer which also included a club room and use of the club lounge.
It was easy to park the car in an easy to find car park space, no worries that the car was being taken further away and parked in a field with many other cars.
When we accidentally left a phone charger behind in the room, a quick call to customer services, backed up by an e-mail, ensured that the item was found and was waiting for us on our return.
Whilst we did not use facilities such as the pool and health club, what we saw looked very good.
Food within the bar area and later in the restaurant was very good.
The only criticism was the poor bus service to take you to the airport. We were looking to use this however when we found out that it would take 42 minutes to get from the hotel to the airport we decided to use a taxi. The taxi cost £10 and only took 10 minutes max.
Overall we had a wonderful stay which started our holiday in style. Would certainly use this hotel again in the future.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Roffe problem taken care of
When I came to my room I felt it was very cold. I tried to increase using the control panel on the wall but nothing happened. INstead I could see a tool icon on the panel.
Called thereception and asked for help. Within only a couple of minutes a man knocked at my door . We checked the panel together and he agreed that there seemed to something wrong. He should check with some other gui.
Within less than 20 min another guy knocked my door. He seemed to be some kind of housekeeper. He checked the panel and said they had to check the fans on teh roof. He also said thet if they could not fix it he would talk to the reception and leave me an electric heater. I was going to go out for som dinner. He then also promised to leave a note with informationon the staus on the problem.
Coming back from dinner I had a note saying he could not fix the problem right now but he had left a fan as promised.
This ois GREAT.
I had a problem and it was solved very fas with high priority and good care. Really good handled.
A big thanks to all people involved. They made a greta job.

Whenever we travel from Gatwick we always book at the Crowne. The rooms are always immaculate and the pool facilities are really good. Shame that the Jaccuzi is not working, we really liked that best.
The cost to stay and park your car is very good value for money, would recommend it to anyone.
We are definitely going back

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nick1951 Convenient for Gatwick, and parking
We stayed for a night and then caught an early Gatwick flight the next morning.
The package deal for room plus parking is very good value, I chose to spend a bit more, and stayed in a 'Club' room which was very comfortable.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ivang Comfortable Clean & Friendly
Stayed here twice this year, both times the night prior to flights from Gatwick airport. Both occasions the rooms were well maintained, clean and well equipped. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, with the concierge offering help both times. The car park is adequate, although we parked elsewhere for our holidays. The hotel is close to restaurants if you don't want to eat at the hotel, short drive or walk. Much nicer hotel to stay at compared to others nearby in the same chain. Cannot comment on the food as we ate with friends elsewhere and at the airport fro breakfast.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Experienced great service at other Crowne Plaza, but this was a disappointment
Staff very courteous and friendly on arrival. However, their response to a forgotten iPad in the room was dismal. I used the iPad to wake me up early for a flight from Gatwick. In the rush in leaving the hotel I forgot to put it in one of my two bags when leaving the room. I discovered that I did not have the iPad after returning the rental car and checking in one of the bags into my flight. Called the hotel about 30 - 45 minutes after checking out and asked that they check the room. Response was that there was no iPad there. On arrival at my destination I checked the checked-in bag to make sure I had not made a mistake. No iPad in that bag either. I then sent an e-mail to the hotel asking them to again check whether someone had found an iPad. I received no response. Considering that the iPad was locked with a password, no one could have used unless unit was fully formatted.
What was really disappointing is that the hotel did not even reply to my e-mail message at least saying that they would look into it. I will certainly reconsider staying with Crowne Plaza next time I need a hotel.
