Some issues with payment policies

The staff is great - very friendly, courteous, and accommodating.

I do have an issue with the policy of adding authorization for an "incidentals charge" to the credit card used at check in.If no additional services are billed to the room, the charge is not applied to the card.

I understand the need for such a charge. What I object to is the fact that this charge is not indicated either by a sign at the front desk, or during the reservation process (at least not that I saw). (The only sign indicating such a charge referred specifically to ~debit~ cards, not credit cardsThe only way we knew about this charge was by checking our bank on the moring following check-in..)

I also was not happy with the prices and lack of variety in the restaurant. I would like to see some simple, basic foods at reasonable prices.

Comfortable bed and room, locked windows?

Room and service was great, however I'm unsure why the windows are all locked. Even the balcony is locked for all rooms. This includes rooms that are on the first floor which isn't very understandable. My only complaint would be about the lack of opening windows, this also brings up concerns about fire safety.

Lighting in the Room

The room was pretty dark and their was no overhead lights and the three lamps were pretty dark. The electrical sockets over the bed would be better if they were to the left and right not in the middle of the headboard.
