Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a happy Camper My two daughters had a 3 day volleyball tournament and I booked my room in February for two beds. When we checked in Saturday night after day one of the volleyball tournament, they had no rooms available with two beds. . The best they could do was a king bed and a sleeper couch. The receptionist told me the kids could sleep on the floor and she will send alot of blankets up to make a comfortable pallet on the floor. I advised her that I booked and paid for two beds but she said that was all she could do. Room servie brought the blankets up and they would only give me one set of sheets, one blanket and one pillow. I was upset. The girls slept on the hide a bed but floor would have been more comfortable. The next day the I went to the front desk and they were able to move me to a room with two double beds, it was not ready when we left for day two of the volleyball tournament but he said it would be waiting for us when we returned. We returned around 11:00 pm that evening and the same lady that checked me in the day before assisted with switching my room. She gave us a comp breakfast for our troubles the evening before. We went to our new room and settled in, I called the front desk for a 6:00 am wake up call so we could be assured we would be up in time to be at my daughters volleyball tournament at 7:15 am. The next morning at 6:30 am, I was woke up by my cell phone. My wake up call never happend and we were late for our tournament. As I was checking out, the man said advised me I did not use my free breakfast. I told him I was unable to because the wake up call I requested never happened. A lady interupted and apologized and said let me look into that and she changed the subject and was more interested in my cup I was carring. I was so late that I walked out. The customer service at this hotel is poor. April 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Don't expect to be reconized for being a Priority Rewards member! The room was large and nice. My son was thrilled about being in what he called a "high-rise hotel". He was excited to be able to look out over Dallas. The staff wasn't overly accomodating. We were not recognized as Priority Rewards members. There is no free breakfast unless you pay for an upgrade. The room didn't have any extra linens although there is a sofa bed in our room. After about 20 minutes after asking for linens, we finally received them. The rooms were large and the hotel has a small gift shop. There is an indoor pool and hot tub, which was cold, but our son enjoyed it. There is also a bar for cocktails if that is something your interested in. Overall, it was a nice hotel. April 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Service! Although this is not a newer property I did not have any issues that would prevent me from staying there again in the future. In fact, because of the extraordinary service provided by the Hotel Sales Manager (to resolve several small issues) I will make it a point to stay at this Crowne Plaza whenever I am back in Dallas on business. I thought this property was a very good value overall and because of its proximity to Dallas Love Field it is ideally located for my purposes. Also, the breakfast buffet was excellent and the Bar food and friendly service was terrific. April 4, 2013

She went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed and then when as I was leaving I asked her for a to-go cup. I expected that I would fill it with coffee that was already out, but she but she said she wanted me to have the freshest and hottest coffee. She went into the kitchen and came back with a fresh/hot pot. She deserves a raise - great service. Fred. April 1, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty room, not enough bedding This hotel was by far one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Most of the lamp shades had burn marks on them, ceiling lighting had exposed fixtures, coffee machine did not have the small black "tray" to place the coffee in, shower curtain did not reach from one side to the other, a/c & heater basically had an on/off switch which blew directly onto the bed, no sheets & comforter were available because they were busy that weekend. I asked the front desk as soon as we checked into the room and was advised someone would send them up soon, the next morning I went down to ask when I was going to get them and I was advised they did not have anymore. I asked when someone was going to tell me that and all they could say was, "I'm sorry". I had to go down a floor to get ice, this was due to our floors ice machine not working and the one above us not working. I took a chance...go up a floor or down a floor. I chose the wrong way, up March 25, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by What A Dump! To All, Holiday Inn Crown Plaza's have dramatically dropped in quality. This hotel is not company owned but is a franchise. Whoever the owner is it's obvious that this property is run down, neglected and probably very low priority for them. The staff is not very helpful. Forget about making a specific room type request... not going to happen. The entire experience from check-in to check-out was unsatisfactory. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not your regular Crowne Plaza I stay at IHG resorts around 4 months out of the year due to work, the rest I go to other companies. This was by far the worse experience I have ever had in any hotel. The room was ok but the problem is in the dining area. I was greeted by a waiter that took my order but explained that due to his shift being over he would give my information to the bartender. I waited 45 minutes while watching the staff of 4 walking around and going to other tables but not mine, they didn't even ask if I wanted something to drink. I waived to one of them and asked where my food was and she said that she was going to look for it in the kitchen, 10 minutes later she came with food that was still missing part of my original order, she went back and another 10 minutes passed by for the rest to come. When I finished and asked for my bill the bartender came and asked if I wanted a drink on the house for my inconvenience, I told him that it was too late for something to be done. After I left I went to the front desk to talk to the manager on duty and explained what happened, he assured me that he would talk to the F&B manager regarding this and that "if I wanted" I could follow up the next day with the GM. The following day in the afternoon I went to the executive offices and asked for the GM and what was the status of what happened the night before and another manager on duty said that it was already taken care of, but the GM never came or approaced me regrading this matter. Even when I checked out I thought that he or she would at least write me a letter but NOTHING happened. This was by far the worse customer service I have ever received and I will never come back to this property. March 4, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't count on shuttle service We stayed there because Customer Care said there was a shuttle service available. When I checked in they said yes, they would be able to take us to the American Airlines Center for a concert and made us a reservation. We caught the shuttle service with no problems but when we got there and asked where we meet after the concert, we were informed that the service stops at 10:30. The concert wasn't going to be over before 11:30 so we had to figure something else out. We should have been informed of that ahead of time. It was freezing after the concert and it took us at least an hour to catch a cab. February 25, 2013

This time, it took 60 minutes ,a full hour ,to get the salmon. The filet was small and there was more romaine lettuce than anything else on the plate. My buddies meals all came in varying times. There were four of us eating plus one other guy. Recently, I was here alone. I ordered Glenfiddich18 yr scotch. Paid $20.00 for the drink. The bartender measured exactly one fluid ounce. Thats how you get well booze. Not SCOTCH. Which cost $80.00 bottle. That's not how I usually get 18 yr scotch. Glass filled with ice,then filled with scotch Air conditioning in the guest rooms is nonexistent . I'm from Michigan. I like my room to be about 65-68 degrees. Impossible here. Breakfast is good and the breakfast servers are great. The last guy I flew with says he has had good service in the restaurant for dinner. So maybe it is the bar staff. February 21, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by AC My rooms air conditioner was terrible. It did not cool my room. I had the hotel fix the ac and they attempted. But no change. I would expect a room that cost this much a nite to be a better facility. And there was no compensation from the hotel for me. Nothing like free points. Money off the room. Nothing just a sorry. You know sometimes sorry isnt enough. I stay at a hotel from the holiday family almost every week. Not because i have to but because i want to. Hopefully this is not the way all the HI family works. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by VERY UNCOMFORTABLE STAY Although I attended a great event at the Crowne Plaza, I must say the stay was just the opposite. First, the toilet was clogged and would not flush so I called the front desk. Second, after waiting 2 hours for the heat to warm the room, I placed another call to the front desk. After placing both calls, maintenance responded quickly. When the room warmed up, it became too hot so I adjusted the temperature from 75 to 60. The room temperature never cooled down and I decided not to call the front desk again, fearing that another adjustment would leave me with dealing with a cold room for the rest of my stay. It seems like every year the building condition, room condition and the quality of the staff seems to be degrading. Upon checking in there was a long line but no line for the Priority check in. I stepped into the Priority section and it was annouced by the front desk personnel that we needed to form one line. This was at a high volume check in time...5 PM and just one person at the front desk. Once I was in my room I found it to be abnormally warm. I tried adjusting the thermostat and no change in the 82 deg. temperature of the room after 10 minutes. I called the front desk and instead of immediatly moving me to another room, they told me maintenence would be right there. After a 30 min. wait, I called the front desk again and they decided to move me. I will be looking at other properties the next time I visit the Dallas area. February 11, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice surprise For the first leg of our trip we stayed at a charming B&B while my husband attended a conference in downtown Dallas. We then moved onto the Plaza because my husband had a class in the hotel. I was sad to leave the B&B --but the Crowne Plaza was nice in a different way. This hotel was clean, the bed comfortable, the pillows fluffy and the showers hot. We slept well. The staff was friendly and helpful. I took the hotel shuttle to the train station and so was able to go to downtown Dallas everyday while my husband was in class. The shuttle drivers were always kind and helpful. This hotel is not in a walkable area--but the shuttle made it possible to go to places that were. Nice hotel. We both were very satisfied. February 5, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible I checked in at 3:00 PM and waited 25 minutes for a room. Had to wait in line twice. My priority number was not part of my reservation, despite the fact that I had called it in a week earlier. I still don't have my points. The front desk guy was rude. When I asked if my platinum status entitled me to an upgrade or any perks, he said "you're all set" in a tone that "get away from me". This building is old and looks it. The room was very small and crowded. Low ceilings. Some cosmetic updates. The heater was so loud I had to turn it off. When I returned to my room on one day at 5:00 PM, my room had not been serviced. I called down to the front desk to ask for service and they said they'd send someone right over. I told them them I had to occupy the room until 6:00 PM and there wasn't room for me and a housekeeper in the room at the same time. They said 6:00 PM was too late!. So I talked to the manager and he managed to get my room serviced after 6:00 PM. The Gym is very small. Free weights with no bench. Restauarant was OK for breakfast. This was the rudest group of Crowne Plaza employees I ever encountered. February 2, 2013

The staff is the nicest group of people you will ever meet in a hotel. I would like softer sheets but that's the only thing I would change. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jan 14th stay My bill is not correct. They have not been able to provide me a invoice that matches my credit card charage. The Priorty Club in this location is in name only.. A Platinum Club member is issued two tokens if you stay one night on two nights. No Priorty club room or breakfast room is avialable. However, a club memberr is given a bottle of water. In the future I will stay where a Platinum member is welcomed. January 21, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great People...Sad room Room was smelly. Unfortunately I stay here monthly and it is declining quickly over the past year or two. I appreciate the service of the military people that stay at this hotel during their time here, they are somewhat loud late at night. (It is the least I can put up with as I know they are very brave and are preparing to serve our country) The heater (and A/C) would only blow hot air and the room had to be at least 85-90 degrees when i opened the door. I tried to turn it to cool and only hot air would blow. I called the front desk and they were very polite and sent maintenance right up. The maintenance person came up and fixed it right away. Great people! Old room! Bed was not supportive. January 16, 2013
