Great experience

I very much enjoyed the food experience which I thought was very tasty, and the staff was very hospitable. The staff made me feel at home and was very attentive to my needs. The sleeping experience to me was very favorable, to round the experience off I considered it to be very pleasurable. I would stay again at the Crowne Plaza Hotel

Good Staff. Shame about the rest

The staff here are, in my opinion, trying to make up for a hotel that is struggling.
The temperature in the rooms were simply unbearable.. You cant open a window to cool off, so we were stuck. They offered us box fans after my second attempt at complaining...but then only had one fan to service our 2 rooms. I gave it to my mother for the room she occupied.
The smell of the rooms was somewhere between a damp basement, humid attic or a wet dog.

When engaging the staff about the problem, they were polite and willing to help, but I received 4 different stories from the staff members about what the problem was. It took me over 3 hours for me to get to someone in the management chain (the GM) whom could actually assist me and by that time it was 1 am. I had driven 8 hours and been up for 17. I was not in a mood for polite patience: I wanted a comfortable room, where to lay my head and rest before setting out on another 10 hour trip the next morning. The staff took this in stride, and patiently assisted me so I have to give them kudo's where it is due! It just should not have taken so long to come to an agreement, at such an hour of the night. It may be normal business operation hours for them, but for the customer...it's late!

The GM, George, to his credit was willing to help, and he made my stay fiscally worth it. However the fact remains the facilities themselves were substandard to the standard of which Crowne Plaza is typically affiliated. Looking over other reviews it seems the temperature has been a problem since January 2015.

By now it should have been repaired or addressed, but obviously was not.

Dear RoadWarrior PM, We sincerely apologize the issue with the room thermostat was unbearable! Our hotel heating/ac unit has definitely seen better days but our maintenance department do their very best in assisting in whatever way they can. This issue is something we have been working on repairing for some time now and hopefully will be able to resolve this problem very soon. In the meantime, we are glad our staff was accomodating as they do their best in assisting with guest issues. Please let us know when you are returning to Dallas so we may make sure everything possible in your room is working as it should before arrival. Thank you for staying with us!
