Missed the Reunion Bus

By

April 17, 2015

My husband and I missed a scheduled reunion bus to the National Air Force Museum. My husband asked the desk if there was any transportation to the National Museum. Christine was happy to drive us and a another couple....I thought that not only was she a great driver, but was so impressed by the customer service beyond what one would expect.
I loved all the electrical outlets in the room. Now a days with all the electrical gadgets one travels with, finding enough convenient outlets is so nice.
Thank you

Poor faucet for shower

By

The shower faucet in Room 828 needs attention. I had to use 2 hands to "pry" it open....once I figured out it was a straight out motion and not a lift up motion like most faucets I have seen of this configuration. This one item was the only "sore point" of my stay, but it was enough to discourage me from returning to this hotel.

Overall very good experience....exception was TRANSPORT

By

April 16, 2015

The day before I was to leave, I filled out a slip of paper for a transportation reservation to the airport. I wanted to leave for the airport at 8:00 AM. I was downstairs waiting to get on the shuttle to the airport and discovered that my name was not on the shuttle list for the 8:00 departure....nor was it on the 8:30 list either. I was not listed on any of the early morning shuttle lists. The person I gave the info to the previous day obviously did not see to it that I was listed as a passenger to the airport.......I did make the 8:30 van only because there was a empty seat available......

Overall good, but....

The hotel was not staffed to handle two large groups at once. I attended a conference along with another large group. I understand the hotel was understaffed by 50% due to recent departures of employees including the head chef during our events. This makes me think there might be a management issue. The staff that did serve us did the best they could & luckily our group was very understanding. There was also a fire alarm that went off at 3am one night on the 12th floor. The fire marshall said there was no fire, but they couldn't figure out how to turn off the alarm for a couple hours. The guests were sent to the lobby, they were given free breakfast vouchers for the restaurant, & were supposedly compensated for a night's stay, but the manager was no where to be found. I would think with such an awful event in the middle of the night, & a whole floor of disgruntled guests, that the manager would've arrived on site to reassure the guests & try to make up for the inconvenience. Again, the girl behind the desk did the best she could, but took the brunt of the angered guests when it clearly wasn't her responsibility. I was not on the fire alarm floor but some of my cohorts were & they were not happy! I still gave the hotel an overall good rating because the staff that were working really tried their best to accommodate everyone. The one meal I ate in the restaurant was nothing special, average at best, although the conference food was pretty good.
