In my opinion, Crowne Plaza is by far the best hotel in Dayton. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious, and the beds are extremely comfortable. The staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful. It's the little things that make a difference. This is only hotel I've ever stayed at where you can plug your cellphone into the reading lamp by the bed, and it was the first time that I got a thank you note from housekeeping for leaving a tip. The restaurant on the top floor has spectacular views and is open till midnight. I found the food and drink to be very good.
Excellent value for the money. I've stayed at this hotel often and have never had a problem.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by maospt Sold out hotel to much to handle
This hotel is in need of some updating. During our weekend at the Dance Master's weekend, the hotel was sold out. The restaurant did not have enough staff to accommodate the amount of people. When the room was cleaned, the staff left their duster in the room. The elevators ran super slow, especially at peak times. It just didn't seem there was enough staff to accommodate the sold out hotel. I will commend the valet upon our arrival who was very nice helping with all our dancing items.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jesicajns No heat or hot water
We stayed for 2 nights and the first night we froze as the heat in our room didn't work. The next morning there was no hot water when we called to get someone to fix our heat in our room we were told they were out of hot water cause a lot o people were there ummm it is a hotel. They came to fix the heat but it still continued to blow cold air. Then on the 2nd night we had no washcloths and called for them to bring some they never did we actually had to call back down on Sunday morning. We were there for a dance connvention that we attend every year but I am seriously considering a different hotel for next years stay

12 floor security is amazing. Hotel locks the elevator and you must call to get it unlocked before 06300. Stay at your own risk.

My favorite part about my stay at the Crowne was the great service. The room service was open til midnight the night of my arrival, making the fact that I hadn't eaten a non-issue. The folks at the front desk made me copies of a handout a needed for a presentation that afternoon. They were fast and the cost was cheap. The room service supplied me with as many coffee pods as I wanted. Everyone was as friendly as can be.
The temperature controls in the room were not completely easy to understand (seemed to be controlled by the thermostat AND the blower). The candy in the vending machine was way too old (fool me twice, shame on me). The walls weren't thick enough to mask the baby crying next door and there was a weird hum in-or-behind my wall. Still, that sort of thing generally doesn't keep me awake, so the little things that bothered me were just that: little.
The conference facilities we used while there were very nice (comfortable, well-lit, clean, pretty, etc.). I don't know who was in charge of the food for the lunch and dinner I had as part of the conference, but I could say it was mostly good. The salads were a bit wilted. Otherwise, it was good-to-very-good.
If someone were to ask me if this would be a good place to hold their next conference and house people, I would say YES.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a wedding and was greeted by excellent service from Robert and Eric. Upon finding a problem with our room, the staff immediately corrected it, assisted us in switching rooms, and compensated us for the inconvenience. Robert, Eric, and John were particularly great. I look foward to staying here again in the future.

In most cases I thought Crowne Plaza hotels have free breakfast, but you only give discounts for government workers or former government workers. How about teachers who taught people for decades how to read, write and do math? I highly believe we deserve a discount or a free breakfast.
So many teachers had sacrifice their time, energy, and monies to help students in this country and around the world to be nation builders, care for children not of their own, but making a difference in so many lives. Remember if it wasn't for a teacher, where will you be?
Don't forget about us.

Great service. Shuttle drivers were the best. Would recommend but warn that the mattress is very hard.
