I checked into the Crowne Plaza in Dayton Ohio on May 31 and stayed until June 2nd. My entire stay was very pleasant. The hotel was always clean inside and out. All of the staff were very nice, professional and would do anything to make the visit comfortable and memorable. While in the lobby a few times, I watched them interact and it appears to be a very close knit family atmosphere and satisfying customers is their goal.Two of the staff especially standout: Bryant the concierge and Michael the van driver. Both men had exceptional personalities and went out of their way to help me i.e., picking up a relative from the bus station and identifying key tourist attractions. I am well traveled and must admit my experience at the Crowne Plaza will stand out due to the courteous and professional staff interactions. Keep up the good work.

As a whole my experience at the Crown Plaza Dayton was great. Staff and accomidations were perfect. Rooms were very nice and cleanly.

The hotels is centraly located and convenient for downtown activities. The room was very clean and nicely furnished. However, the hotel is in desperate need of more elevators. Many guests were extremely annoyed with the waiting times.
In additon, I am not a big fan of the explosive flusing toilets they have. You barely touch the handle and it flushes like a bomb!

Hi This is the second review I have had to write for some reason.
When I got into my room I realized the the housekeeper put queen sheets on my king bed? so the mattress whs hanging out of the sheets (only2 corners of the bed) They did come and chang them but it tool a half hour out of my day! In the morning i went to the Restarunt for breakfast. Orderd bacon and eggs with shaved potatoes, The deep fried bacon was so butnt it crumbled into bacon bits when touched. the Potatoes were the most disgusting slop i have ever tasted. When i said something to the waitress she says to me.....Ya I would never order those i think that they are gross too. then she presents me my bill. Full frice for everything. Next I decided to say something to the manager at the front desk but he was not in yet, I was assured that he will call me as soon as he gets in. still to this day, no call from Crowne Plaza Daton.

De Von gets a 10 in my book. Nice job. Restaurant service inadequate for breakfast. Dinner was very pricy.

I come to Dayton for the annual Hamvention and stay at the Crowne Plaza because this is where the majority of my friends stay. That makes it easy to see the folks I want to see and accomplish the things I need to do. This year, I found the front desk personnel to be gracious and helpful, but the room itself was a bit disappointing. The bathroom is really small and the lighting in it is terrible. Also, when I tried to print airline boarding passes, the hotel's printer was out of toner and nobody knew where to find a replacement cartridge. They solved the problem by simply affixing an "Out of Order" sign on the printer. All in all, my stay at the CP was a very average experience and I will return only because that's where lots of my friends probably will be staying.

I like everything about this hotel, but the standout characteristic is the quality of staff. Every single one of them (front desk, bellhops, shuttle drivers, security, restaurant and event wait staff, housecleaning, etc.) had a great attitude and a big smile. They worked hard and quick to please. Some were clearly less experienced but somehow they were properly trained in how to interact with customers. This went a long way toward washing over the inevitable glitches that come up, e.g., computer downtime, airport shuttle mis-scheduling, etc.
This year, the room was spotless upon entering and every day after maid service. The new management really knows how to run a top notch hotel property.

very helpful. the manager's happy hour on Wednesday was very friendly and relaxing. The property is old, but has been remodelled recently. Room lighting is rather dark. rooms look clean, but old design.

As a platinum club member, I expect better from my hotel brand of choice.
* 3-day stay and the room was never cleaned. On the second day I specifically asked for service at the front desk and after I was told they would send somebody right up, they did not.
* The ice machine on our floor and the two floors above us was out of order. Do your maintenance.
* The HVAC system was noisey and cycled freqently.
* It took an exceptionally long period of time to get our car from the valet. I normally don't valet but it was offered for free as a priority club member. Next time, they can keep it.

Where to start. How about that when check-in time came, we were told rooms were not available. 10 minutes later another guest walks in with no reservation, and is given a room. All while 20+ other guests with reservations, having been waiting in the lobby for 30+ minutes. Next, paid for Club level room, and the Club was closed our entire stay. No compensation. Then, 2am-3:30am banging and yelling by another guest and Hotel Security, in the hallway, because of a lockout situation. Did I mention Club level? Now, upon receiving my bill, I've been double charged for valet. Only arrived in one car! Finally, when I tried to call the extension on the valet ticket to have my car brought to the front at checkout time (as the ticket instructed me to do), no one answers. Once at the front desk, I asked the clerk to please have the valet bring our vehicle around. She leaves, returns with my keys and says, "Here you go" I explained to her that I have no idea where the valet has parked my vehicle. She matter of factly states that all of the vehicles have been brought down into the lower lot, already. Again, I have no idea where in the lower lot, my vehicle has been ensconced.
Hotel has been recently updated. The same needs to be done with the service and staff!

Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, professional staff. Superb customer service, excellent location. Comfortable beds, squeaky clean rooms. Cannot say enough positive comments about this hotel. We will be back the next time we visit Dayton.

Much of the hotel is clearly upgraded and very nice. Some of the upgrades, however, don't quite hit the mark. For example, there was a gap between the new bathtub liner and the tub creating a waterbed type experience in the shower. These misses, however, were more than offset by the quality of the staff and the quality of the beds, linens, etc..

We chose the hotel because of its proximity to the convention center. We used the valet parking and had a hassle free experience including the covered walkway to and from the convention center. We ate dinner at the restaurant at the top of the hotel and experienced good service and good food in an attractive environment - no mountains or ocean but the Dayton lights after dark are not bad. We also had a full moon rising on one side and a sunset on the other. All in all a great experience. We will be back the next time we attend a convention center event.

I worked with the front desk before our arrival to get a group rate. They were very helpful and made the adjustment easily.
We were delayed checking in because the room type we requested was not ready. I was disappointed because it was after check in time and we had made the reservation well in advance.
At check out we left 2 items in the room. They were able to retrieve them and we received them in the mail within 2 days.
All in all a good experience.

Okay, I liked the room. The decor was great. The bed was like sleeping on clouds. I even like that the TV had many channels and the internet had great bandwidth.
The downside was that the room was dirty and dusty. The restaurant staff was slow and did not acknowledge me on both occasions for over 10 minutes. If I didn't have to eat in the restaurant on my next visit, I would stay here again. Unfortunately, there are not many good restaurants around, so I need a good hotel that has a good restaurant. They need to focus on their service.

Check in and out was quick and easy. All staff, including housekeeping were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Great night sleep! I would like to visit this hotel again in the future.

our stay at cp was nice staff were nice bathroom was super small when you opened door in it hit the toilet to get in tub or turn on shower you had to close the door.We also had one moore small problem at check in when we made reservations I requested a king wich was not available and I was told to ask when we checked in I did and was told I get what I reserved without even checking very un professional. We were in room 409

The room was small and felt cramped. The bed was to hard to sleep on. The bathroom was very small. The front desk person was rude and short. Expected alittle more for the price and rating reviews. The resturant/bar was nice and had a nice view of the city.

I've stayed at other Crowne Plazas and this is definitely one of the better properties I've stayed at. The room was very comfortable and looks like it was recently renovated.
The flat screen had a lot of HD channels which was a pleasant surprise. Most properties I've stayed at have the flat screens but don't upgrade to the better cable service.
The only thing I didn't like was that you couldn't take the thermostat below 65 degrees. I prefer to sleep in cold air, and I realize I'm more in the extreme with this, but I would've liked the room a few more degrees colder.
The staff was efficient and friendly. The couple of times I called the front desk, they picked up within a couple of rings and in one case offered a better solution to an issue I was having. Great people!

The hotel was great except for no continental beakfast. The food was good but expensive in the roof top lounge.
The staff were very polite and friendly.
But the shuttle bus we had organised to pick up a group of 10 from a wedding did not show up even after 2 phone calls, forcing us to walk for 10 minutes in wedding attire with 5 children in the snow and freezing winds.

I did not enjoy this stay. Upon check-in, they only had a double room and requested/paid for a King bed (I also called two days before to inform that my flight would arrive very late and to expect me into the hotel around midnight for a King room). When the folks working in the restaurant upstairs ran out of to-go lids, they put saran wrap over my cup. I asked for change for a $20 bill to give the valet a tip. They did have any cash, nor did they offer to go get the cash, but instead suggested I try the front desk. The front desk did not have any, but they promptly went and got the change. The valet and the other guy who brought my bags to my room were very helpful. I have seen worse, but none for the cost associated with this Crowne Plaza.

The stay was memorable. Didn't acknowlege that was a platinum member. The room was average nothing special about this Crowne Plaza. I would stay here again but only if the Holiday Inn is full.

Several members of my group had cars get broken into in the parking garage. Bricks were thrown through their windows. Parking garage may be controlled by the convention center but if Crowne Plaza is going to recommend that as a parking area then they have a responsibility to make it a safe location or find a more suitable location. The garage attendant staff members did nothing to help get drivers in and out of the garage when traffic was backed up.
