Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by gypsygal2 Great hotel, lazy restaurant
In many ways a great hotel with fantastic attention to detail. They have created a beautiful design in the public areas and the rooms and also a good fitness and business center. Two small gripes and a BIG one. On a lesser note, it was hard to access the electrical outlets in the room because they are obscured and wedged behind heavy furniture. Also the curtains at the window only closed part way, allowing light to come in.However, in general, the room is wonderful. The biggest complaint: the restaurant. There is only one restaurant in the hotel and there is NOT ONE item on the menu that is meatless. Truly, it would not be difficult to include a simple pasta primavera or pasta pesto. But even more egregious....when we decided to just order side dishes of vegetables we were told that every vegetable is packaged and not fresh. Even the mashed potatoes come from a box. Really...how lazy is this chef that he can't produce fresh food???

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by And09 Excellent service.
Excellent service, just as I would expect from an IHG branded hotel! Initially no great recognition of my loyalty as a Platinum reward member, but on my last night, an excellent complimentary in room selection of fruit, snacks and drinks was provided completely out of the blue. I was really, really impressed, see photo. I have recommended to my company that this is to be the only hotel we use in this area in future!

I stay at this property once a week. I am 90% happy with it! Staff is always great; Friendly, helpful.
Good food price is "ok".
My only compliant is there is NO place to plug your smart/cell phones next to the bed. Yes the hotel has installed extra plugs, but this is on the desk. As most travelers today, we (I) want our phone NEXT TO THE BED. We use it for alarm clocks....not easy to get to when it is on the desk

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tibecdoux Shuttle services
I was staying at the Crowne Plaza due to a conference being held in downtown Denver and was visiting National Jewish Health for an illness. I was not very pleased when I called down for them to get me a cab and I received a shuttle service that cost me 54 dollars to get to downtown Denver because the hotel shuttle did not go past 5 miles out. The next day I called down at a quarter to 6 for a cab to arrive at 6:30. When I arrived down stairs the cab was not there. The older gentleman looked pre-plexed and stated that I said 6:45. I was late for my appointment at the hospital and not feeling well didn't not help matters. This cab ride cost me 35.00 I had to get a rental car for the rest of my stay so that I didn't go broke while in Denver. Now the shuttle for the hotel that picked me up and dropped me off at the airport were extremely friendly and helpful in getting my bags loaded. Thank you for that.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JB59 Older Property that needs to be Renovated
When we checked in the staff was very pleasant so I have no complaints with the personnel at this property. The problem is the hotel itself. It is very old and needs updating. The carpet in the rooms is dirty, the shower is hard to stand in because the inside of the tub is curved, the woodwork was cracked and in the closet torn up and missing....
We checked in late and went downstairs for a nightcap. When we got back up to our room around midnight I actually thought I was going to vomit. The stench of a dead anminal (or mouse) hit us when we walked in the door. I immediately called downstairs and they moved us to another room but believe me this is the first and last time I will be staying at this property.. There are alot of newer hotels by the airport,. I would rather pay extra to have a nice clean room.

The room, hallways, elevators, and common areas were dirty. Received a nice coupon for a complimentary drink at the bar, but also received the drink in a filthy glass. A group was at the hotel for some kind of a convention. I don't know who they were, but they were clearly a low-life bunch. Small drunken groups of them were all over the hotel. They congregated in hallways and visited loudly at all hours interrupting rest and blocking passage. Their appearance, language, dress, slogans, etc., were all very questionable.
The only positive feature of this hotel was the restaurant.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel 4 times from the end of June through the second week in July 2013. We used the stay-park-fly plan. We had a very good experience with one very big exception. We were shuttled from to and from the airport. Upon our return to Denver we waited for a shuttle back to the hotel....once for just 15-20 minutes (just fine) but on 3 other times we waited to be picked up 1 hour when we were told 10 minutes.....45 minutes when we were told 15 minutes and 40 minutes when we were told 10 minutes...all upon arrival at the Denver airport late at night. There is no excuse for this!
Otherwise our experience at the hotel with other staff was excellent. But the shuttle experience may keep up from returning.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BFHeyne Never got any rest
The 15 minute trip from the curb zone to the hotel took 1 hour and 40 minutes. The worst part was that each time I called the hotel to inquire about the shuttle, the staff lied to me. They could have simply said they did not know the van's status and I would have taken a cab. Instead they lied and I didn't arrive at the hotel till 1:38 AM. Other guests were with me at the time.
In the morning when I spoke to the manager to suggest the staff simply tell the truth on these occasions, he said hotel management would be in touch with me to resolve this. No one has called me. Additionally, I was supposed to receive a free breakfast, but I did not. The expense was excessive and the service was awful. Avoid this hotel.
Also, they could not find me in the rewards program.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Racoo42 Great customer service
Room was as described and clean. Nothing to complain about except there were no electric outlets available next to the beds. Had to plug in phones across the room. Due to the location and price of the hotels park, stay & go package, we chose Crowne Plaza, however double beds for a family of 4 is not ideal. Queen beds would be much better! Hotel staff was nice. I would stay there again, in spite of the double beds.

We used the hotel for park and fly. Our room was clean and quiet. We chose to have dinner in the bar area. The food was very good and the atmosphere was comfortable. Had no problems getting to the airport and were promptly picked up on our return.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by roomsmeltlikeurine Rooms smelt like urine and rude staff
We had booked a king size bed with sofa bed. When we arrived there was only one staff working and a many people waiting. Finally we were checked in and given a room with 2 Queen beds. Upon going to the room we arrived and it smelt of urine, there was no way we were going to sleep in the room.
When we asked to be relocated based on (i) the room smell and (ii) not a king bed as we had booked, the very rude check in told us there was nothing else and if we wanted to go elsewhere the closest available was over 40 miles away.
She gave us another room on the same floor, same bed configurations which was just as bad.
It was a very unpleasant room and we will never stay at this hotel again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by bviper04 Plat Elite, sat in lobby 2 1/2 hrs watching non-elites get rooms.
Spent 2 1/2 hours sitting in the lobby as a Platinum Elite. Given, I was there well before check-in. However, several customers were given rooms while I continued to wait. Never had this issue at any other property and I stay in hotels 5/7 nights a week. Kind of disappointing.
The property itself is ok. You can tell it's older. The beds were rather uncomfortable. My particular room overlooked dumpsters and must have been above or below some type of machinery due to some of the noise in the room.
I had the breakfast buffet. It was decent.
Free airport shuttle was convenient upon arrival. Concierge and shuttle staff were excellent, very friendly.

The service at this hotel was fantastic, especially Nadia at the front desk. She was friendly and helpful on the phone when I called for an airport pickup, and informative during the check in experience. This is the first time I ever had a desk agent walk from behind the desk to escort me into their lobby and point out features of the hotel! The room was very clean, spacious and up-to-date. Overall, I had a great stay.

The staff was very friendly. The hotel restaurant food was below average. It was lacking in creativity and just not very good. The elevators in this hotel were EXTREMELY SLOW. I was there for a 5 day stretch. My schedule had me coming and going several times during the day. The cleaning staff, although hard working and very nice, were constantly using the elevators. There should be a service elevator for them to use. I rode the elevator with cleaning staff carrying bags of trash, pushing carts of towels & linens, pushing vacuum cleaners to other floors. They were stopping on every floor on the way down & up. This was quite an inconvenience for me, other guests, and for the cleaning staff also. Definitely a reason for me to not recommend this hotel and avoid staying here again.

I stayed at the CP in April of 2013, attending a corporate conference, the meeting rooms were nice, but very chilly.
The restaurant staff was not attentive at all, had to get up from my table and go looking for them to get coffee and water refills, the breakfast buffet was horrible, the food was cold and not at all fit to serve to guests. The evening meals that were served in banquet rooms were delicious, hard to believe that the same kitchen did the preparation for the buffet and banquet rooms.

The bathroom had a dirty washcloth on the floor when i arrived. I mentioned this to the front desk. They took no action, just thanked me for letting them know.
The shower had black hair still stuck to the wall.
The area where the fridge should have been was empty.
I would not stay here again.

The staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable. The guest rooms smelled very musty or like mildew on my recent visit. I would have requested a room change but the hotel was booked for the night so this was not an option. I can tell the hotel has undergone some recent updates however it seems some corenr may have been cut along the way. The smell will need to be addressed before i consider this hotel again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ca320 Great front desk staff, facilities poor
We were given a room that smelled of smoke. The front desk was called and we were promptly given a new room. My only complaint about the room is the carpet was worn and coming up where it met the bathroom tile. We attempted to use the hottub but there was something wrong with it. The mechanical room had a high pitched sound coming from it and jets in the hottub shot the water about a foot straight up in the air. Again we contacted the front desk and a maintenance man was to stop by the pool and hot tub. Well the maintenance man didn't enter the pool area. He only looked at us through the glass doors and walked away. At that point we gave up and were happy to catch a flight out of Denver. This hotel does not live up to the Crowne Plaza standards. We will not being staying here again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BigDaddy62 Re-arrange the room furniture
I have stayed at this hotel several times and each experience has been satisfying. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the facility is clean and well maintained. My stays have been comfortable and quiet. I especially enjoy the convenience of the free shuttle to and from the Denver Airport.
The rooms are very nicely decorated and appointed. My only complaint is that in each instance I have stayed there, my room has contained a couch that is situated on the same wall as the television, therefore making it impossible to sit on the couch and watch TV. This is a ludicrous arrangement. There is a large desk opposite the couch. Why not swap positions of the desk and couch? Seems like an easy change and one that makes sense? I dont enjoy laying on the bed to watch TV.
The other dislike is the smell of the shampoo/conditioner...not very appealing at all. I will continue to stay at this hotel when business takes me to Denver.

I would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.

I reserved 4 rooms through priority club and had issues the day we arrived. We had to check out and back in almost every day, keys did not work , names on wrong rooms, and issues getting the room charged to right credit card. We spoke with a number of people and it seemed like no one wanted to resolve the issues. If we had not been a part of the Rocky MT Equipment Show there is no question we would have changed hotels. I have been a member of priority club for many years and this was most likely the worst stay I have ever had. I hardly ever respond to a survey but I felt this is one I had too. IN fact there are some of us who never did receive all of the daily receipts so we could recoup all of our expenses.
There are some of your managers who need to take lessons from your express hotels where the customer is first.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jo8176 One of the Worst Experiences We've Ever Had
We were there for a convention so it seemed like the convenient place to stay. I was warned not to by her team mates who had visited in the past but unfortunately I ignored them. It started when we got there and there was no bellman and no carts so we had to lug everything to the room by ourselves. Once we got to the room the keys would not work so I went down and got a 2nd set of keys. These didn't work either so I sent my daughter down to get a 3rd set. While she was gone and I stayed with our belongings a maid walked by. I asked her to let us in our room and she refused. Finally a maintenance person came by and let me in. When I went down to get the rest of our things from the car, I found a cart. I loaded the remainder of our belongings on the cart and went to park the car. While I was gone a hotel person took my cart inside. When I came back no one seemed to know what happened to the cart and our belongings. My daughter informed me that someone had brought the things to our room.
The room was ok, but not very clean. I went to use a glass but when I held it to the light it was clearing dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the last guest. The next morning I found a long black hair in our bed even though my daughter and I both have blonde hair. It was creepy to think they hadn't even bothered to wash the bedding. When I informed the front desk and took both the glass with the black hair in it to them, they didn't even acknowledge there was a problem.
The first night we tried to eat in the restaurant. There were only 3 other tables at the time. The waitress took our order and we didn't see her again once the drinks were delivered. After about 45 minutes I went to the hostess and asked where our food was. She got the waitress who came over and said our food would be up soon. I still don't understand why she couldn't have checked on this herself and/or given us an update. We had young children in our group and wanted to get them to bed. Plus I had ordered a salad which shouldn't take an hour to make. A manager came by later and when I told her what had happened she didn't seem to care either. We had to insist on a dessert menu and it was like pulling teeth to get our dessert.
The convention was at the hotel and I was not impressed at all. The trash cans were overflowing all weekend and there was trash on the floor in the morning that had been there the night before as well. The bathrooms smelled and had no toilet paper and no hand soap the majority of the weekend. The carpets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years and they didn't even both to vacuum them while we were there.
I would NEVER stay here again and I hope the convention is moved to another location next year!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jwolford Very dissapointed
We recently stayed at this hotel for a dance convention. I was dissapointed in the stay as I expected much more. The hotel did not staff correctly for the amount of guest they had. Dinner the first night they had one waiter (who was great) but service was slow. We waited almost 40 minutes after we were finished eating to receive our bill so that we could leave. The buffet for breakfast was not very good and I had to pay for coffee when I got up in the morning, yet the flight attendant who was in front of me was given a cup to go for free. It was just regular coffee not like I was wanting a starbucks..... The girls danced all day and did not get done until after 10 that night. The restaurant was closed so we went up to the room and ordered room service. An hour later we called to find out what was going on and they had not placed our order.
