Hotel needs some fine-tuning

The lower level entrance is confusing. The sign pointing to "lobby" is very small. During our 30-minute wait for our valet we saw many confused people entering the building and we gave directions to several people. There should be a larger sign indicating the elevator to the lobby.

The valet system needs work also. When the texting system is not working there should be some way to contact the valet to avoid a long wait like the 30-minute wait we experienced.

The bar in a major downtown hotel should be open later than 11PM on a Friday night.

The room was spacious and comforable.

I give second chances

The staff at the front desk was excellent but just as they were excellent...the valet parking was as equally terrible! I waited an hour and a half for my vehicle after checking out which made me late for my tigers game... Not to mention they were taking bribes to get to the front of the line from some ppl.The rooms were a lil dated and the bathrooms were extremely small but my view was great and the location of the hotel was great rite near the ppl mover and cobo hall the food was a bit pricey for the quality so stay away from it unless your starved and to lazy to go elsewhere... I figure we caught a couple ppl on a bad day so like I said I can give the hotel one more chance

Dear Jflow1, Thank you for your feedback on your stay here at the Crowne Plaza Detroit Downtown Riverfront. We strive to be a great hotel, guests love. I will let our front desk team know how much you appreciated their services, and apologize for the way you were treated from our valet team. It is definitely not acceptable for the team members there to be taking bribes to get to the front of the line. I will make sure to inform their management team of your concerns. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to see you again soon. Kate Shrosbree Social Media Correspondent

Looks great, but poor service.

When we got there our key didn't work so we asked the cleaning lady and she said we had to go all the way back downstairs. When we got there the desk told us we could've just called on a phone.. Wait time for valet is way to extensive. Waited a hour and a half at check out and they couldn't find the right keys. The largest reason I may not come back is because the service I received at check out. The lady was extremely rude and caught an attitude with me. I'll tell you what, if that was my employee, well she wouldn't be because she would lose her job.. Very unprofessional. I was astonished at the way I was treated. Her name was Shakeeta or something along those lines. I'm honestly still upset about the way I was treated. I was also told there would be a birthday surprise and never receives that. Lack of customer care.
