Will not return and very disappointed!

After being overbooked, I was downgraded to a queen suite, and tried to be overcharged for it. I was the person who looked up room prices and contacted customer service of the pricing difference. After being told three different amounts, and three different amounts I would end up paying, I was charged a full room price and a full valet parking price. So NO discount for accepting a room, I didnt want.

We were there for the garth brooks concert. If I owned a hotel, knowing he had a sold out show, I would have contacted a cab company and had a few waiting out front. We waited over 25 minutes for the cab service hotel offered, before calling one from google. Three other couples were standing in the lobby waiting.

After the show, your restuarants were closed. Only room service which by the time we got back to our rooms, after waiting for an elevator for 12 mins, we had 2 mins to order. So we looked on google for a delivery service.

Due to being put in a queen size room, instead of a king, I ended up sleeping on the couch, while my husband slept in the bed. There is a broken light bulb in the bathroom with glass shards in the sink.

I give 100% for you staff who were very welcoming and helpful. We chose your hotel due to the proximity of your location to the concert. Next time, we will walk or have a cab waiting and will look for another hotel. I slept on the couch, paid full price for a room I didnt reserve, and was told three different prices, and ended up paying full price with No discount. VERY VERY disappointed, and wont be returning.

Must Stay for a Cobo or Joe Louis Event

Great location for events at the Joe or Cobo. The rooms are nice and clean. I would stay there again.

Busy weekend

The prices were very high the weekend I went.. they were at full capacity I believe American Idol was in the D a couple weekends in February and during this also was a country concert!! the staff looked tired and exhausted from dealing with all of the extra people, long line to check in.. Valet was very busy but nice staff.. overall didn't do much inside the hotel to write on but was clean good location.

Less than enthusiastic

I frequently stay at Crowne Plaza and IHG properties. While I really appreciate the location of the hotel for the reason I was in Detroit, the hotel was expensive, the rooms were small and had not been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival, the food and drinks were over priced and the cost of the valet service was steep.
