Best Hotel in long time

I stay at many hotels and few exceed my expectations, but this hotel did on every level. From the first time I stepped out of my car for the Valet everything went very well. Staff was fantastic and the property spotless, other than typical wear.

I went for a walk around the area during the day and yes the night. At no time did I feel any "bad" Detroit vibe, this area is safe, fun and the building are beautiful!

Conference Hotel in October

Very impressed with this hotel and staff. Everyone was helpful and tried to answer any questions. From pulling in for the valet to take my car - to the check in desk clerk - very welcoming.

Did have complaint that after I left for my meetings at 8 am and returned to my room at 5:30 pm - there had been no housekeeping done! Had to call down and then the girl came to the room while I was in it - finally just asked for towels - she pulled up the bed (I could have done that) and then she was gone.

Also not impressed with food selections from room service. Too expensive for the options and what was served.

Front desk went the extra mile

Came for a conference and initially was not able to reserve the room for the whole conference, but the front desk person I worked with Dana was great and she was able to extend my reservation despite the hotel being sold out. I had tried multiple times online and multiple phone calls prior to my arrival and had even booked a room at a neighboring hotel just in case. She even offered to help me out if I had any problems canceling my reservation with the other property. The only issue I had with the room was that the bathroom was not clean when I checked in... specifically the floor. But after leaving a note for the cleaning staff it was taken care of the next day. My conference was across the street at COBO Hall, which was very convenient, so if you have a conference to attend at COBO I would highly recommend this property. One other recommendation for management... the doors slam so loudly all along the hall, which is really annoying when people are coming and going at different hours and guests are trying to sleep. Perhaps something could be done to keep the doors from hitting so hard.
