perfect stay

December 18, 2014

The weather was atrocious... what do you expect in Ireland in November... but this hotel was warm, welcoming and comfortable.
Staff (Karl) at check in was one of the most informed and knowledgeable IHG staff member I have encountered and check in was smooth and efficient. The Hotel, though out of the city centre, is located in a large park and very quiet. Parking was problem free in the hotel car park.. The lobby, bar, restaurant were stylish and cosy. The room had everything I have come to expect for Crowne Plaza and was warm, clean and well laid out. The bed was incredibly comfortable and difficult to leave! Breakfast was well presented with a big variety of choices both hot and cold and served by well trained and attentive staff. Overall a perfect stay in the Capital and looking forward to returning.

We were very happy with everything in the hotel-rooms were comfortable and decorated nicely. they were cosy and warm but not too warm. We couldnt work the tv/get any channels. one thing missing is a socket near the bed to charges phones etc. Staff were nice and friendly. We did not use any restaurant facilities on this occasion but have used them before and they are nice.

Dublin by day and Night

December 16, 2014

I got there at around 15:30. Friendly staff checked me in, gave me a newspaper, sleeping kit, free access to the Internet and the key to a great room on the 1st floor.

I was told that there would be a number of Christmas parties going on in the hotel that night but I promised to try and keep it quiet.

Got to the bar at 16:00 ( had to catch up on my emails etc ) and ordered my first pint of guiness in years and boy, was the wait worth it.

I had been travelling all day and was hungry and was pleased to hear from the barman ( Kieran ) that I could order, at the bar, whenever I wanted so I did and had my first fish supper in years. Hit the spot nicely and I then settled in to a steady rythm and met people coming and going for the next couple of hours.

As party goers started to pour out of their dinners and headed for the bar, I headed for my room where, after spraying the sleep aroma can on my pillows, preceeded to sleep until my alarm went off at 08:30 the next morning.

I got up, had a shower using the hotel provided set and headed down the stairs for breakfast. I picked up a newspaper on the way and had a wonderful pot of tea to help me digest the great Irish breakfest ( included in the room price ).

Check out was an easy pleasant experience and my son arrived to pick me up and we headed off into the sunrise.

A wonderful stay and I look forward to repeating it sometime soon.

Thank you Crowne Plaza.
